We were seated right away and brought the water for the table. The restaurant is inviting with plenty of seating. After looking through all the options on the menu we decided on a 3 piece with Lemon Pepper, (5) Wings with Sweet and Spicy, and (3) Tenders with Crack Cheese. My friend highly recommended the spot so I decided to give it a shot. When I first walked in I was very overwhelmed with all of the options, but the young lady working the register helped me narrow down my decision between the three-piece chicken and the wings, but she highly recommended the wings so that is what I went for. I ended up getting them tossed in two different sauces, the honey garlic and the Yang Yum just a note they charge you $.50 per flavor so I originally thought it was factored into the price, but upon checking out, I realize that it's additional for the flavoring. I was very pleased with the honey garlic. The yang. Yum was just ok. It wasn't bad but the honey garlic just stole the show. I made it a combo by adding the sweet potato fries, the sweet potato fries were just okay as well but with the amount of wings I it was so much food so next time I probably won't make it a combo. I liked the wings but found them to be a little too fatty so next time I come I will get the 3 piece chicken instead. They give you pickled vegetables if you are dining in, but this is not an option if you are ordering to go. This is my second time trying this KFC place, and I think they have pretty solid chicken, but not the best korean fried chicken I've ever had. We ordered the combo onion chicken dish, which by default comes with chicken nuggets. I thought that the flavors of this dish were very nice and refreshing (if you like onion), but the chicken itself was not super impressive. A solid chicken place! Really didn't have any complaints. I ordered this via Uber eats, and the taste is great. I'll have to go and check the restaurant out in person. My man ordered us the CRACK CHICKEN (YUM) - these were so different. I've never had chicken that tasted like these, but we were into it I wish I could explain the taste, but all I can say is weird and good! He also ordered the YANG YUM & HONEY GARLIC wings - both very tasty. My favorite of the two was the honey garlic! I really enjoyed the crisp! I really enjoyed the chicken. It was fried perfectly and the flavors were fantastic. I would advise that the pieces are huge. You don't need as much as you may think. This is definitely a place where you can share a few dishes with 4 people. The mushrooms were amaaaaazing. I've been here several times and everything is always good. Chicken skin is crunchy and meat is juicy. Note their fried chicken always has a spice, lowest is mild. No. 1 Plus chicken is a great place to visit, especially with large groups. Their large portion can easily satisfy 3-4 people and often times we have leftovers. My favorite chicken to order from them is their green onion and double onion boneless chicken. I highly recommend getting the mixed fries or kimchi fries to share as well. This place is such a hidden gem. We've ordered both dine-in and to-go and both experiences were great! We've ordered their yang yum fried chicken (both dine-in and to-go) and their crack chicken and onion rings (to-go only). Their Yangyum fried chicken is delicious. Both the whole and half portions were generous. The chicken is sauce-y but not drenched. Because of the sauce you lose some of the crunchy-ness but not by much! I like the pickled radish that comes with it. Their crack chicken is also really tasty! If you like a cheesy flavor dry rub then you'll enjoy this. The chicken was super crispy too. I don't know what they do to their onion rings but they fry them to perfection. They're delicious even without seasonings on there. Had they told us that before sitting down, we would've probably gone somewhere else. So we ordered and it took another 30 minutes for our food. I get it. It's from fresh ingredients. Our drinks were brought out. No ice in one and the other with very minimal ice. Our food eventually started to come out. I don't know about you, but I like for all my food to come out at once. We got dumplings first. They were good. We got fries next. I would've liked for my chicken to come out with it since it was a combo. By this point, I was disappointed. 3 piece fried chicken was just ok. Someone at my table got wings. Those were good. We ran out of water and asked for more. One bottle never came back out. The other came after asking for it several times. It had no ice. Fine. Just say you ran out of ice too. It was time to pay and the machine went down so we had to pay at the counter. We did dine in and ordered the full chicken platter which is $28.99 which includes chicken breast, wings, thighs and drum sticks. It is a good size with a bunch of the sauces to try out. I prefer the honey one the most. We ended up finishing most of it, but had to take home. My wife ordered the seafood soup and it tasted great. Was not as spicy. Just a variety of issues--the combo fries were served in a puddle of grease and soggy in arrival due to being served with at least 1-2 cups of oil at the bottom of the basket (see photo). The fried chicken has great flavor and crisp but they forgot to make it spicy as ordered. When brought to their attention they stated they forgot to add the pepper but that it was too late to correct, however they had no issue still charging the upcharge for the spice level. Overall this place has potential. Some menu items are good. Just seems to be really hit or miss. There is definitely the feeling that you're being nickel and dimed at every angle with this place ($2 upcharge for spice level, $17 for a basket of fries) which is fine if the quality and service are up to par. Because it was our first time, we ordered the platter which had 4 flavors which was original, yangyum (spicy & sweet), garlic and soy. The garlic didn't even have a garlicky flavor, the soy was good and so was the yangyum. The original is just plain and fried. We also had a seasonal item which was the rosé tteokbokki. I've had it at another place before and they tell you it's a creamier version of the regular tteokbokki but the sauce was so soupy and not as thick. It had rice cake, fish cakes, cabbage, carrots and 1 boiled egg. Again, would have loved the dish if the sauce was thicker. The corn cheese was good super fresh but for some reason when it cooled down, the corn felt/tasted dry. I understand when the cheese hardens but I didn't understand the corn being dry. read more
