Tried this place out with some friends. My bf and I ordered a few different entrees to try out the menu. We decided in the chicken katsu, Japchae, house fried rice with pork belly & a mopo corn dog. Everything tasted good except the katsu chicken we were disappointed with. It was almost burnt and was a bit dry. Our favorite was the fried rice with pork belly. The Japchae was good but lacked enough beef and was nothing special. The Mopo corn dog was good but could have done without the potatoes. I loved their spicy mayo with it though. We also got to try one of the spicy boneless wings from our friends and it was delicious. This place is a bit over priced with the quantity of food you get. We would come back for the wings and fried rice but probably nothing else. read more

I gave this Bonchon two chances because I moved from Virginia, where Bonchon is consistently excellent. Unfortunately, this location was a huge disappointment both times. On our first visit, the chicken wings were dry regardless of the flavor we ordered, and the spicy sauce was bland. The side portions were incredibly small, and there wasn't even an option to upgrade to a larger size. The fries were so few that I could literally count them. On top of that, our food took a very long time to come out. After seeing how tiny the fries portion was, I ordered another side, but it still hadn't arrived by the time I finished my meal. I eventually had to ask them to cancel it. On our second visit, I ordered the bibimbap, and it was a disaster. It was nothing like bibimbap suppose to taste. The rice tasted like it had been scraped from the bottom of the pan--hard, dry, and not freshly made. It wasn't seasoned and lacked flavor. We also asked if the chicken could be made a little saucier, but that request was completely ignored. We had to ask for extra sauce on the side instead. I was especially disappointed because I've eaten at Bonchon in other locations, and the food is significantly better. This location simply doesn't live up to the Bonchon name. If you're craving Korean chicken or bibimbap, I'd recommend saving your money and going to LOTTE instead. read more

Well this was unfortunate. I basically left hungry and paid $75 (includes tip) for cold, dry food. I ordered the chicken bibimbap and most of the veggies were cold, like still nearly frozen cold. The rice is disproportionate to the actual food as well. My daughter ordered the chicken katsu which had really good flavor. But it's only chicken, rice, and a few chives on top. Neither were worth the price for the quality. Once you enter, wait to be seated. So it's sit down restaurant with fast food vibe. Ambiance is eh. One of the main reasons I gave them 2 stars is the people. You can tell they're working very hard, and maybe all of this misfortune is because they're working out the kinks. They had a soft opening in May and have a grand opening in September. They really needed more people working tonight as well. We waited way too long for someone to greet us at our table, waited way too long for our food, and waited way too long for our to go order. Plus I left hungry due to my food being cold. Another disappointment, they don't allow substitutions. For example instead of bulgogi on the japchae I wanted chicken. They couldn't do that. Which leads me to believe this may be frozen premade food. My daughter wanted to substitute Cole slaw for a different side and that wasn't allowed either. She just went without a side (which was included in the price). I probably won't return after this experience. read more

Great ambiance, food, service - Check - Check - Check!!! Bonchon in Wesley Chapel just opened two weeks ago in or around mid May 2026. They are located in the new Hub at Lexington Oaks. Not many businesses are open here just yet. Pet Wants, Lexington Nails, Bonchon, & the inside Driving Range are open. We ordered the mix of 6 wings and 3 drumsticks. This was perfect bc I wanted the wings and my husband wanted the drumsticks. We enjoyed the soy garlic flavor, but you can choose two flavors. They came out in a timely manner, not too long at all and were very tasty and crunchy just how we like it. Also a good amount of chicken in them. This came with Cole slaw or pickled radish. I tried both and liked them both. The service was great. Our server Trent said he cooked and served so he hoped that he was attentive enough for us. That was really nice of him. Another girl also served us and she was so kind and helpful making sure we were ok. We also spoke with I think was the owner or manager and he was very nice and accommodating too. I had stated the pickled radish was warm not cold. He brought me a Cole slaw and a cold radish. I ate the pickled radish at home and it was very tasty. We really enjoyed our chicken which was is the main part of the show here. They also have other Korean food such has japchae noodles and bibimbop bowls and chicken sandwiches just to name a few. We would definitely be back. Right now they are in their soft opening, so I'm sure there may be small hiccups. Our experience was excellent. Check them out! They are new here. Idk why the reviews are low because we dropped in for a mid-afternoon lunch and the food was delicious! We ordered a 20 piece (10 soy garlic and 10 yangnyum) to dine in and 10 piece soy garlic tenders to go. The wings were absolutely spot on Bonchon style and delicious. The decor inside with Korean neon old school sayings were nostalgic and kitch for me, so added points. read more

Tried this place for lunch today and it was awesome. We did the sample platter with soy garlic ,10 wings in Korean barbecue, and the pork bowl. It was enough to feed four people. Everything was wonderful. The chicken was juicy and tender. The pork was so flavorful just a hint of heat and the sample platter had everything you could possibly want. I absolutely love the pork dumplings. Not gonna lie it's a bit pricey, so I won't be doing it all the time, but I'll definitely be going back. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience. The chicken arrived cold, the portions were surprisingly small for the price, and the sauce barely covered the chicken. On top of that, the chicken wasn't crunchy at all, which is what I'd expect from Korean fried chicken. It tasted more like soggy chicken nuggets than freshly fried chicken. I was initially very excited to try Bon Chon. When we got there tonight, we waited an hour for our food. We came shortly after 7:20 pm and our first dishes were served at almost 8:30 pm. By the time we finished eating, it was very late. We got the generic apology. We weren't told the food was going to take some time. Instead, we heard excuses after excuses-that they just opened a few days ago, etc. If they weren't prepared maybe they shouldn't have opened. Some tables were served faster and for others like ours, the service was extremely slow. It didn't seem to matter who got there first. To make matters worse, my bibimbap, even the rice in it, was lukewarm while my husband's dish that also had rice in it, was warm. The rice cake on the So-tteok-so-tteok was very hard to chew-like it was served before it was throughly cooked. It's absolutely nowhere near the one I tasted in Seoul last year. We also waited a while before our drinks were refilled. My husband almost had to take our drinks to the counter himself to ask for refills. The only saving grace was the fried chicken. Was considering two stars but gave it three to be fair. I ordered a K chicken sandwich and my wife got the chicken katsu. The sauce on my sandwich was pretty good but the sandwich completely lacked the crunch you would expect out of KFC. Actually more on the soft slimy side. The katsu had a good crunch to it, but the chicken was extremely thin so it was super dry. We also ordered the cucumber salad and that just lacked a lot of flavor that you would typically get out of Korean pickling. The food was not bad enough to complain about, but definitely not good enough to come back and give it another try. A true shame because I was looking for a new place to frequent on a regular basis, will need to keep looking.
