Disappointed for a $44 dollar meal for me and my son. Everything was dark brown and tasted like oil. The wontons were so dried out from the heat lamp they crumbled to pieces when bit into and couldn't be enjoyed. The fried rice had a weird after taste. The beef skewers were hard as a rock. Again, not fresh and overuse of the heat lamp. No reason to keep going. I will not be eating here ever again. read more

I'm originally from St. Louis which arguably has the best fried rice you'll ever eat (you have to know where to go). When I'm feeling like having fried rice but not wanting to make it myself I go here. I have a very specific order and they always get it correct(still not as good as home but will do). The Rangoon are usually pretty good however the ones I had last night were not. They didn't have much filling at all. The place is small and quaint. This place was not very good tbh. The customer service was good, they were friendly. However the amount of breading on the food was WAY WAY WAY to much. It was like 75% breading and 25% meat. The fried rice was okay, the sweet and sour is okay. We just were not thrilled. They really need to change their breading recipe. read more

The family did takeout for Christmas Day dinner while we were visiting them in the Tampa area. The restaurant was very busy, of course, but they'd phoned in the order in advance, and it was ready for pickup fairly soon after it was promised. I tried their egg rolls, and they were very good. The right kind of "wrapper" and the inside had crunchy veggies. Don't you just hate those soggy ones? We'd also ordered pork with Chinese vegetables and Singapore rice noodles. They'd ordered beef with broccoli and general Tso's chicken. We got a taste of all the entrees. We were pleased with everything -- not an easy task with take out that travels home in a box. And the family and even the kids liked everything, too. My husband also had their hot n sour soup to start and said it was excellent. They live not far away from this place but had never ordered from here before. I think that this may become their new "go to" restaurant for take-out Chinese Food. read more

One of the most disappointing Chinese food experiences I've had overall. I think it bothered me most because I was famished and couldn't wait to eat...only to toss 95% of my meal. In a nutshell, the man who took my order over the phone and who I assumed cashed me out had absolutely no customer service manners; which I forgave. As I walked up to the restaurant I could see the door ajar and there was no a/c or fan on once I got inside. It's +90 degrees, the restaurant temperature was unbearable!! I said to myself, how are you working in here and keeping produce fresh but I'm not dining in. We ordered the pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and the egg rolls. A pretty standard order for our family. We tried this spot trying to find a spot here in WC. Well, the Mongolian beef is mostly onions with very little beef, the rice got mixed reviews, I thought it was fine but my wife hated it. She found the rice undercooked. The egg rolls were OK. Egg rolls at China Gourmet are better. We will try some other spots. read more

Called and made order over the phone. They provided an exact time to pick up (16) min. I thought that was great as to their customer service. Meals are cheap, fast and delicious. Can't go wrong. Visited with my two boys and cashier allowed my two boys to get a can of soda for free. They were so thrilled. Made their night. Definitely recommend it and will be back! read more

AVERAGE. This is a fast food Chinese eatery. It looks, smells, & tastes like the vast majority of these types of restaurants. Prices are similar, although I found the prices here slightly higher. The roasted pork lo mein was good, but it did lack seasoning. The teriyaki beef (sticks) were meatier than most, but they, too, could have had more flavor. Definitely average food that's good in a pinch, but nothing I'd make a special trip to seek. (I was hungry & happened to be in the parking lot.) The menu is extensive, but nothing different than what you'll find elsewhere-- see pics. I believe this is a husband and wife operation. The gentleman (an older man) who took my order was not overly friendly & he never smiled either time that we interacted. To my surprise the quality of this place took me back to the streets of NY. This isn't just another strip mall Chinese take out this my friends was a legit quality restaurant. Even the containers aren't that plastic box everything is in its little paper box with the metal handle. You can eat right out the box with your chop sticks. Definitely recommend. read more

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years and have always enjoyed the food up until last night. Their new printed menu indicates that they are now under new management and this apparently has led to major changes in quality of their food. Previously, you could tell that all of their food was prepared at order time and was hand made. The food we received last night was akin to a selection of Costco's cheapest version of do-it-yourself Chinese food. The pork-fried rice was dry, tasteless, and served in a single portion microwave dinner plastic tray. The only pork that that this rice saw was from a distance. The Sweet & Sour Chicken looked like they had stolen a bag of McNuggets from McDonald's. Finally, the boneless ribs were thin shavings of some tasteless meat covered in some kind of pink goo. Needless to say, this will be the last time we eat there. Unfortunately there isn't a Zero Star rating to give this restaurant what it truly deserves. Ho Wok has some amazing NY style Chinese food and it's my go-to in the Tampa Bay area. I've watched them make the dumplings from scratch and they are my favorite anywhere. Get them pan fried (you can also get them steamed). The General Tso's chicken is great, House Fried Rice is the best around and the Hot and Sour Soup is on point. The Bourbon Chicken is fantastic and comes with the sauce on the side (I suggest you throw away the sauce). You may want to totally disregard the ignorant comment and one star review from the negative-Nancy who mentioned food coloring in the Bourbon Chicken. Of course it has food coloring; it's Char Siu chicken and that's a traditional preparation. Seriously, get it. Many of the other dishes are good and you'll be fine with the eggrolls, mu shu pork, etc. but I wanted to share my favorites. This is where my wife likes to go when the end of the week has kicked our butts and we're starving but just don't have anything left in the tank. As far as food goes, it's actually pretty good. I mean, I probably wouldn't head over there on a first date or anniversary dinner or anything. But it's pretty good. There's really no place to sit and eat there. I mean, there are a few chairs and a table or two, but they are the "we called in an order and we're so hungry we left right away and now we have to wait while playing Candy Crush and looking annoyed" tables. Besides, I don't thing you want to eat there. It's a typical Chinese food place where you get a pretty good look into the kitchen. And I'm not sure you want that while you are eating. Now, I'm not suggesting that I saw anything out of the ordinary. I'm just saying that it's not a Michelin Star restaurant where a view of the kitchen is like watching an artist at work. Best to just grab it to go. The people who work there are nice. I left my credit card by accident. That seems to be a thing with me. And one of the guys chased me down in the parking lot to give it back to me. So, that was pretty nice! I think they might deliver too. According to my wife they do. But I'm not certain. Last thing. The fortunes from their fortune cookies are really bad. No joke. They are more like suggestions and observations. If I wanted to know it's going to be sunny tomorrow, I would look on Weather Bug. As a resident of the community for 26 years, my family has supported Ho Wok from it's beginning. The food quality was so good. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing for the new owner's version of Ho Wok. The great taste of our favorite dishes simply wasn't there. They just didn't taste freshly cooked, but seemed more like heating up something pre-cooked. Portions were smaller and chicken dishes had less chicken. Sadly, we'll be looking for an alternative in the area for our Chinese food. Not sure where San Francisco, CA came from but we're Wesley Chapel. read more

My family and I have been eating here for the past 5 yrs, but the food we had last night was awful! We heard they're under new management and so far, it hasn't been the best experience. We ordered the pork fried rice but there was no pork in it and it was dry. It tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. We also ordered the curry chicken and it tasted like rubber. I'm guessing they used imitation chicken. The owners before served better food so I am sad that they're gone. We will not be ordering food from here anymore. read more

They are from Gyangxhou, the Southern most city in China which is kn I wn for its food and great chefs. Jack He is the owner with his brother and re l at Ives who all work there and are 100% involved. The food is reliably very good, nice portions. And we'll priced. If you are looking for a sit down with tables idea seevice, this is not it. If you want fast take out with a hearty neal, for sure. Be reasonable and patient when you call especially during the busy dinner hours. All these other reviews that are looking for a car delivery service - tell me which other places offer that?
