My coworker met one of the owners at a wedding and invite to try the place out since she is originally from New Orleans herself. First i must say the employees here are awesome and so darn friendly! We went for brunch on Sunday there was a wait of about 15 minutes but that's expected during this day and time. Now the food. We could not choose so we did breakfast and dinner and it was so good. True homemade tasty food. The Cajun chicken was so good. The pancakes taste like grandma's homemade recipe. Sausage was awesome and flavorful. Finally the beignets, we're just amazing!!! Just had lunch today with my Fab One. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather I ordered for the holidays. LOL I got the Dixie Burger. Start with a great Angus patty. THEN add bacon. THEN add BRISKET! Throw in some cheddar cheese and some slaw and Ayeeeee! Crazy good, don't talk, just eat, while gnawing on some delectable onyun rings! SHE got the Roast Beef Debris Po Boy....sop up that meat with savory gravy all wrapped in a Po Boy! Ain't a thing PO about that boy! As usual, the divine Miss Haley took supreme delight in caring for us like we were those relatives that don't visit often enough! I offered to help out, but they got the SH Super Krewe! What an amazing surprise tucked away, honestly with not much else around. We were out in Brooksville and the family got hungry and I found this place on Yelp. We rolled up and didn't know what to expect but soooooo glad we came here. Our kids, who are booghie as hell all said this was the best food we had in a long time and we eat out often. The owner was our server and he was the nicest guy. Told us how it's a small family owned spot which makes it that much more special. We got a lot of food and I can honestly say everything was fantastic. Blackened gator tail was cooked to perfection. Swap soup is outstanding and so is the jambalaya. We each had a different burger and they were all fantastic. I got the one with the shrimp on it and that creole sauce kicked butt. That debris gravy tho . We also had the beignets and kings cake for dessert. Soooooooo much flavor and cooked perfectly. We will be back with the rest of the family to enjoy the cuisine again. I stopped here on the way home from a funeral. Sadly I tried to like this place because of all the great reviews. I know they're short staffed here, which is why I gave it more than 2 stars. I got the Red Beans and Rice and it was so dry it tasted like refried beans and sticky rice. My son ordered a grouper sandwich, and it was dry and they're supposed to be known for their fish. My daughter ordered gator bites with mashed potatoes and her gator bites were so small and tough, she didn't even finish the plate and it was $16.99 or something like that for it. Such a shame, because I know they're supposedly decent, but it just wasn't good. read more

You have got to eat here!!! If you don't, you will be missing out! This wonderful restaurant is worth the detour from ... wherever you are, really. We were traveling on I-75, and we are so glad we took the 5 minute detour. We arrived around 1100 on a Sunday, and waited about 15 minutes. Walking to our table, we passed patrons who were devouring biscuits and gravy, eggs, and chicken. It all looked so good!! We received both breakfast and lunch menus. Both menus were a mix of traditional American food and Louisiana Cajun food. (Keep in mind Cajun is very flavorful, and not necessarily spicy). It was so difficult to decide what to eat, because everything sounded so good!! I will be back to try something else. :) I was interested in the Nachos. And they were delicious!!! The base of these nachos were an extremely flavorful Cajun type potato chip. They were loaded with cheese, shredded roast beef, mushrooms, onion, green peppers, banana peppers, and covered in their beautiful Debris Gravy. I was surprised at how much meat there was! It had to be close to a pound. The gravy is the most flavorful thing I've ever tasted. My Dining Partner got a HUGE salad with a fried chicken breast. Their homemade Ranch dressing was incredible. The chicken was extremely moist and the breading was crunchy. She loved the freshness of the salad, and all of the vegetables that came as part of it. We also got a side of Fries with Debris Gravy, and she, too, was overwhelmed with how good the gravy was. If you are in the area, meaning within 60 miles, you should not miss out!! I am so happy that I found this place. Talk about a diamond in the rough or finding the needle in the haystack! I so love Yelp for amazing finds such as this one. From the moment I walked in I knew I was going to love this family, local restaurant. I could feel the love and joy emanating from the kitchen. Saw this place on the map while looking for brunch on the way out of Tampa and so glad we stopped here! We were seated outside which was slightly enclosed with heaters to keep it warm but the wind still made it a bit chilly so bring layers. The menu was almost overwhelming with the number of options, all of which looked delicious. We ended up with a burger and the dirty bird with rice and gravy. We were both very happy with our orders and the prices were very reasonable. For dessert, we split a slice of the wrec pie which might have been the best part of the meal (other than the dirty bird fried chicken). Service was a bit slow and there is only one bathroom for everyone so there was a lot of waiting around but other than that, we left very happy. read more

Dumbfounded by great reviews, but maybe we just didn't order the right stuff. First of all the positives. The fried green tomatoes may be the best we've had in the area. The sweet potato fries were excellent. But for an apparently non busy lunch hour, it took a very long time to get our meal, although the appetizer came quickly. I asked if my cousin could taste the gumbo because she can't take a lot of spice, and the waitress didn't offer it, saying it's not very hot. Well, for my cousin, it was. Her lips were burning. She barely ate any and when we told the waitress, she didn't offer to remove it from the bill. I ordered blackened fish - paid extra for the grouper and it had NO spice and was saturated with oil or butter - I couldn't tell. I also mentioned this to be sure they prepared it correctly and she said that was their blackened. But it was plain white fish. And our lunch came out really late after others who came in before us, and then my fish came before my cousin's bowl of soup! I realize any place can have an off day. But we were mystified because nurses at the hospital had been so positive about this place. Not sure we would return to try the barbecue. read more

Went here on Monday, Martin Luther King's day. We've been out in Webster and then over to Brooksville, and on our way back to Orlando stopped at the Southern Harmony Cafe. What a gem! Cannot say enough about the friendly service and excellent food. I had the Dirty Bird Smothered Chicken breast plate. Make sure to get the slaw as one of your sides. It is yummy. For dessert we had 1/2 orders of homemade bourbon, banana pudding, and Bon Temps Beignets. I have to admit the homemade bourbon banana pudding was delicious and it's not like anything I've ever had before If you like excellent/friendly/caring service and one-of-a-kind, delicious food, this is the place to go. read more

This Great "Hidden Gem" is pleasant drive North from our home in Zephyrhills. Everything is Home cooked and authentic. I can't resist ordering the brisket, while my Beautiful Wife Loves the Cajun Sampler! This is a Family business and it is apparent in everything they do from the Quality of the offerings to the genuinely friendly service. The last time we went, we forgot to check Facebook for the hours and arrived five minutes after closing! It was my Wife's Birthday so I decided to pull on the door anyway. With lots of parking in the private lot, two outside wooden benches that hold three each, & a handful of outside tables w/ chairs, there's plenty of room for everyone. Although you will likely have a wait to be seated at an inside table, the tables turn quickly. Just don't show up here on a Saturday; that's the day the family takes a break from pleasing customers. Once you arrive, be prepared to speak w/ strangers, although there are few strangers here. This is a community restaurant w/ loads of hospitality. Numerous times I was told how special this family is-- this restaurant is more than the food it prepares for those who choose to enter. We sat at the counter, privy to the kitchen, checkout, & a sweet young daughter laying her head on her daddy's shoulder four stools down. Unsure why a poster said prices were high; they were anything but. My very good ribeye country skillet breakfast w/ scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes, onion, tomato, mushrooms & green peppers was $9.95. (I passed on the country gravy.) The biscuit that accompanied my scramble was wonderful. As I separated the layers to dab a little apple butter on it, steam rose-- can't get fresher than that. The unsweetened iced tea was excellent, & I was told the pancakes were top notch-- they surely looked it. My lunch partner had a grilled specialty sausage.....food was good. Mine was supposed to be blackened but no real spice but the scallops were cooked well. This is a most unusual place, and I highly recommend that if you're driving through the tiny village of Ridge Manor, you try to stop by Southern Harmony. They have some days when they're closed, so make sure you check their schedule first. The place seems to be a family-owned business. The son was very sweet and debonair. The daughter Haley is an excellent server and very kind and charming. The service was excellent. The indoor dining space is ... well ... limited in space. There isn't much room for Covid-appropriate spacing of seating, so be aware of that. I understand the wait time can be quite lengthy during busy periods. I would say about 15-16 people can be seated indoors at one time. Now, the food. WOW. I had a breakfast and a dinner from here on two visits, two weeks apart. The breakfast was unbelievably. Aside from the fact that I over-ordered, one could quickly get very fat eating this cuisine. Everything was perfect: eggs, sausage, grits, biscuits, jelly, butter, coffee, even the ice water was awesome. For dinner I had a cajun meal and it rivaled anything I've ever eaten in Louisiana in coonass country. I've never been a fan of boudin but Southern Harmony's was amazing. The Andouille sausage is incredible and I recommend it wholeheartedly. The only drawbacks on this place - and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the restaurant itself, the food, or the service, but one should definitely be aware of - is that it is located deep in the heart of Trump country, and there appears to be some serious inbreeding going on in this tiny community at the intersection of US98 and US301. read more

Outstanding! We enjoyed an amazing lunch today, we started with a fried green tomato appetizer that was perfectly crispy and seasoned well with a remoulade sauce, followed by my fried grouper Po boy with sweet potato fries, my husband had a "Dilla" it is a burrito with brisket, boudin, bacon and onions topped with remoulade sauce. We had a little wait so the waitress brought us a sample of their beignets because we were so patient, very nice and very tasty! The food and service was Outstanding.
