3.5 stars. Beautiful vet office(s, across all Bonds). My cat is always comfortable at Bond Vets, and it is great for if you need an emergency consultation. The app chat function can be handy, but it's handed off to different vet techs, so some of their responses are relatively canned, and as such not always helpful. The Chelsea location is possibly better. However, the depth of their expertise or ability to address issues with the care that may be needed case-by-case seems limited. As with humans who visit urgent care clinics, it's still better to have a dedicated primary care doctor who knows you. read more

They gave my dog an expired supplement. They suggested I give that to my sick dog so he will get better from his diarrhea so I purchased it and didn't even double check the expiration date (my bad, who would've thought a veterinarian clinic would just give out expired products to already sick dogs). I was giving it to him for a few days already until my eyes caught the expiration date. I reached out to ask for a refund which they gave (great) but no apologies AT ALL. Wild. The two stars are solely from the service that was given to my dog regarding the check up. The vet that saw us was great. read more

The whole experience felt like it was designed to find tests and shots that my dog needed, and when I explained I wasn't there to spend $3k on my dog that day I was given attitude (by a vet who wasn't particularly welcoming to begin with). I came here for tick removal when my husband was out of town. Vets at Bond Vet act more like salespeople than caring professionals. Feed your dog anything other than kibble? Expect eye rolls. Use natural prevention? Cue the fear mongering. Most recently, they removed 5 ticks, missed 1 on my dog's eyebrow, and handed me a $500 bill. Tried to sell me on a Lyme panel (which doesn't make sense right after a bite). I sent the ticks to a lab myself--all negative. When I mentioned giving my dog garlic granules (working great for 2+ years), I was told "he could die." My healthy, energetic dog says otherwise. They don't listen, don't respect alternative methods, and focus on upselling. read more

I recently took my dog to Bond Vet as he wasn't eating or drinking and had urinated on himself in the house. I said I suspected a UTI. However, they said he had to take a whole barrage of tests including blood work, blood work for ticks, urinalysis, urine culture, sub q fluids and more. It ended up costing us nearly $1,200 and we left with zero answers. My dog got worse overnight and called Bond and the recommended going to an emergency hospital who insisted on even more tests (ultrasound, xray, keeping him overnight) to the tune of $4k. And guess what it turned out to be? Yup, a UTI treatable fairly cheaply by antibiotics, exactly as I had said initially. The vet prescribed us antibiotics and then said you need get neutered ASAP as it related to hormones and won;t come back if he gets neutered. The kicker? They quoted us over $1,400 for a neuter plus a potential $1,000 extra to fix a tiny umbilical hernia that was literally mentioned in his medical notes that they have access to, as his registered vet, though at first said they couldn't even give a ballpark figure wihtout a costly inspection first. And then the vet refused to put his comment about neutering in relation to the UTI in writing to enable us to get some insurance money back on the neuter. In fact, I would say the receptionist seemed quite smug and triumphant when telling me that, as she had told me the day before, no, the vet would NOT write a note about it after I request he call me back. She did seem rather impatient to listen when I told her twice that the umbilical hernia repair would be a separate thing and not something we ask to be included in the insurance claim, or in the note, and I bet she said to the vet "hey this woman wants you to write a note linking the hernia to the illness" even though that isn't what I asked at all. Anyway, obviously Bond Vet can get in the fracking sea with their daylight robbery prices and predatory recommendations for every treatment they could possibly justify whether or not strictly needed. If anyone is wondering...yes, two private equity firms own Bond Vet and have for the past several years, along with buying up many other vet chains and the insurance companies themselves then quietly raising premiums because "vets prices have increased." lolz! And just in case anyone is also wondering, an umbilical hernia would usually add about 10-20% extra on to the neuter fee. And if you look at certain vets around the place, or a little bit upstate or in NJ or Long Island, you can find neuter with umbilical hernia repair for about $250-360, all in. And you bet we will be renting a car every time going forward that our dog needs a vet, since $100 rental fee is worth saving like $500-$2k each time for. read more

I dont think I can come back here again, been here like 6 times...look the place is clean, the staff are smart and nice, booking is easy but they usually never take me on time and they charge insane amounts, maybe even slightly predatory. Last visit (today), i went in because my dog had diarrhea past 2 couples days and vomiting today and yesterday once. In my mind they would give him some canned food, probiotic/gel thing, and maybe test for parasites...how much could that be right like $250 max? Wrong. It was $561 for a bad tummy....$125 of that is to just see him/'consultation'. I could buy a phone or something else for that amount. I met the same vet before, she is nice, smart, caring and told me the prices upfront and showed me a list of tests and prices next to it but I'm not a medical person or vet, I just want my dog to get better, I was desperate to help my dog asap and I was already at the vet in the room...we agreed to do the lower end of tests too, no x-ray or bloodwork etc but still somehow $561. How or why? They probably added on a few more things than I needed. Hopefully insurance reimburses me some of that amount. I just can't go back here again, I'm going to go broke, make it make sense. Bond Vet is a horrible and possibly the worst business I have ever come across! They charged me for clipping my puppy's paws and did not do it. They also had me pay for two urinalyses unnecessarily. I brought my dog in for international travel documents for travel to Europe. After the vet told me she heard a heart murmur, she recommended an echocardiogram, as well as to have a growth removed (with local anesthesia and a biopsy) plus some kind of treatment pre-heart exam that would keep my dog calm. All told, she wanted to charge me for $2300 for various services when I had come in for a routine exam and paperwork that normally costs about $500. I told her that I did not think my dog needed the echo, since the murmur was very minor (according to previous vet exams). She insisted it was necessary before she could approve air travel for my dog. I have never heard this before (why would they care if my dog suffers a heart attack on the plane? This has NOTHING to do with the purpose of the USDA travel procedure/documents, which are merely to ensure immunizations are up to date and that the dog is free of communicable diseases.) I took my dog to a different vet in Kips Bay who couldn't believe what I had been told at Bond. The heart murmur was nothing to worry about, he told me, and the growth was also nothing that needed to be removed (just watched in case it grew further). I got the travel approval and the exam/documents were around $500. I felt totally upcharged at Bond and also condescended to (as if I was an idiot who didn't know what was best for my dog, who has enjoyed excellent vet care). I won't be returning any time soon. I feel this place is very much start-up style over substance.. and more important, profit over substance. read more

Really disappointed with the money grabbing with vets these days. I thought Bluepearl were just horrendous and then a really good vet left the practice and it became all about the money again. I was given all the information I needed by the 'out of hours emergency telephone number'. However when I got to the vet to obtain some uti antibiotics I was given a whole story about how the ball had been dropped by the regular vets in Delaware. Completely untrue and not professional to criticize without knowing all the facts. Our dog had just recovered from Lyme disease and the loss of her brother from bloat. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! Don't be fooled by the friendly receptionist and fancy office. Dr. Alyssa Gorlick almost KILLED my dog! My dog woke up vomiting lethargic and not eating or drinking water on Thursday morning, 9/30. We decided to go to Bond Vet because our regular vet was fully booked. As Dr. Gorlick was talking to us, she was distracted and receiving messages, nothing to do with our dog. She INCORRECTLY diagnosed my dog with pancreatitis. She took some blood, poked around to see if my dog was in pain. He squealed. She sent us home with 2 medications and a Probiotic. The bill was $800. Imaging was never offered to us. The next morning my dog was even worse - he was still not eating or drinking water, and unable to walk. He was completely limp. We rushed him to Vet Emergency Group Hospital in Chelsea, where the exceptional team of vets immediately found he had a large foreign object lodged in his intestine. Turned out to be a large ROCK. My dog needed emergency surgery. His surgery took place that same day, Friday afternoon. He would not have made it another day without this surgery. I called Bond Vet to tell them they had WRONGLY DIAGNOSED my dog with pancreatitis and that he had nearly died. IT TOOK 6 DAYS FOR THEM TO RESPOND TO MY CALL. They dismissed my claim and falsely stated that they offered to do imaging (x-rays) and that we declined. A BLATANT LIE! DR. GORLICK DID NOT OFFER TO DO IMAGING AT ANY POINT DURING THE EXAM. SHE COMPLETELY MISDIAGNOSED MY DOG. Do not take your pets here. They will just take your money and discharge your pet. I really wanted to like this place but BEWARE - it's a money grabbing scam! Went here recently with my 2 year old puppy who had a mild ear infection. They didn't give her a full diagnosis and only said that there was a bacteria in her ear that "we don't know the name of". They offered to give me a cone for her so that she wouldn't scratch her ear and charged the bill with the cone that I didn't accept because she wasn't scratching her ear. So what did they do? They charged me the full bill AGAIN but without the cone and did not invalidate the previous bill they had given me. The first bill was around 400, and the second was around 350, meaning in total I had been charged just under 800 dollars for absolutely no reason. The feed they included on my initial charge were also absolutely unnecessary; they charged me for an ear cleaning that they did not do, charged me for a lab when they did not even do a lab, and on top of that charged for an "examination" which was the doctor putting a cotton ball in my dogs ear and diagnosing her with a bacteria she does not even know the name of. These people are money hungry and will endanger your own pet in order to make a few quick dollars. Not only was the doctor completely incompetent but the receptionist had purposefully double scanned me after saying the first payment "didn't go through". I've contacted this place numerous times about a refund and they will not respond. Don't take your pet here. Edit: While I was looking at the full report, I noticed the doctor even mislabeled the breed of my dog even though I specifically wrote her breed on the file. We had a small issue (thankfully) with the newest kitten and the entire office was welcoming and so organized. It is clean, bright and safe. I called in for my cat and was grateful for an opening a couple hours later. I arrived early to the appointment and we were seen immediately. The staff was friendly and informed me about how they try to maintain a cat exclusive clinic room. They made sure to make my kitty comfortable by providing him with treats and catnip. I appreciated Dr. Jimenez's gentle care. She was direct, kind, and patient. I especially appreciated how the staff reviewed all the different parts of the billing with me before proceeding with any procedures or charges. Definitely recommend their services! read more

WASTE OF TIME & MONEY. It's a chain with high turnover whose operation is clearly fine tuned to get as much money $$$$ as possible out of you. Brought in my old frenchie who had a very badly scratched cornea. They made the assessment and gave me this teeny tiny tube of medicine & told me to come back for a recheck in a week (so I can be billed again, of course). I said the tube didn't seem like enough & told them she also has chronic UTIs which require medicine twice a year.. (she's 12, very old for a frenchie) I said I'm not trying to spend a ton, can they write me up a script for the next one. I was told no, and if she has a UTI and I bring her in & they'll of course have to do alllll these tests $$$$. Right. At the end of the tube - it AS EXPECTED was not enough. It was a huge tear - per the vet. I called and complained & the vet told me she has no idea which customer I was bc she sees SO many people a day & after some aggravating back & forth she gave me another tube and once again told me to come back for a recheck (aka another bill $$$$) LOL. My dog's eye is now clearly fine- but I'm dealing with an AS EXPECTED UTI- which I even bought the pricey vitamins she said would help online despite knowing they wouldn't keep this thing away. A fantastic team of veterinarians with great bedside manner. Our dog was attacked by some pit bulls - thankfully with what turned out to be only minor injuries - and Dr. Gorlick and team were nothing short of brilliant. Empathetic, methodical and consummately professional, they took a terrified dog (and two traumatized dog owners), patched him up, and reassured all of us in the process. I gave a rating of 3 stars because the people and doctors that work at Bond Vet are quite nice and the facilities are nice. But there is some severe price gouging going on there. The totally over charge for their services. For example, last month I got a quote to get my dog's teeth cleaned. Bond quoted a range of $2,100 - $3,000. I ended up going to Murray Hill Vet Hospital and got her teeth cleaned for $813. Do wallet a favor and check out different pet care providers and avoid paying too much for your pet's care. read more

The quality of care has been solid, at least as far as I can tell, but the services are wildly overpriced and they do everything in their power to push your bill higher. Case in point: my dog needed antibiotic pills for a minor cyst, and the vet quoted me about $200. After I pushed back she offered to lower the price to roughly $150. Eventually, after I repeatedly questioned why they were so expensive, she acknowledged I could just buy them myself on Chewy. The cost there? $30! Ask yourself: if my vet is advertising itself on billboards across the city, am I likely paying a major premium to fund that kind of marketing? In my view, the answer is plainly yes. read more

My first impression of their appointment system etc was all very positive. The office was clean and the front staff lovely. The vet and nurse seemed lovely and did an initial check up (my dog had diarrhea but was fine in herself), said she seemed ok based on their checks which looked to my lay person eyes sufficient but then pulled up an estimate for $480+ which included recommendations for a stomach injection to ease her pain (there was no evidence she was in pain, and when asked I was told this would not reduce the diarrhea), put her on a drip (dehydration is where the danger of critical outcomes with diarrhea is I was told in not so many words) - I asked if she was dehydrated given she had been peeing normally and drinking normally and the vet said her gums were a bit dry... I pushed back and basically got told in their experience it was their advice and it could be lethal in situations like hers if not given. I asked how long it would last and was told 24 hours and asked if they would be checking her then to see if this lethal risk was reduced. The answer was of course not. There was also special food (tins) and other items on the bill. The exam was a reasonable fee but the extras were ridiculous, expensive and didn't reflect the known needs of my dog at this time. I felt very pressured and that the knowledge of the vet was superficial when I asked whether the sign of regular urination and drinking was a sign she was not in fact dehydrated he just repeated his statement on how dangerous dehydration was. In short, I felt this was a price gouging exercise and that diminished my confidence in their ability to accurately diagnose or treat my dog. read more

The doctors across all bond st locations are terrible. I've had consults with several of them. One vet kept administering tests that my dog didn't even need and I got slapped with a huge bill. Another one of the vets told me my dog had kidney issues based on one value being high and told me to "focus on his quality of life." When I got him checked by a different clinic, his levels weren't concerning and within weeks he was back to normal and he was fine. Please hire vets who have been educated adequately and actually understand veterinary medicine. We don't want our pets been misdiagnosed by amateurs. read more

The vets seem fine if you go in and actually speak with one, however, if you need help or follow up, you are out of luck. The administrative staff either does not pass the messages onto the vets or the vets don't care. Either way, not good. Our vet prescribed a NSAID to us and we gave it to our pet for 3 days before realizing a treat item we gave had a warning never to give this treat in conjunction with NSAIDs. Since it was 3 days too late, we called Bond in a panic and were told no vets could answer our question but someone would get back to us. 24 hours later, nothing. We googled and discovered the side effects could be internal bleeding. We called again and were told only the vet we saw could speak to us. We said we'd like to speak to any vet since the NSAID interaction wasn't pet-specific but applied to all pets. The woman on the phone said someone would call us back. 24 hours later, 48 hours after the initial call, still nobody had. What if it was poison that set in in 12 hours or something? Our pet would be dead. It has been 4 days and we have called every day. Bond Vet could care less. They don't reply and say someone will get back to you and nobody ever does. I would NEVER EVER go here again. We obviously got help from a different vet and they said it was appalling Bond didn't return our calls over a 4 day period. These people have pretty offices and nice websites but they're just a business, running it to monetize. They get money from in-person visits; not from returning a phone call or responding to a question over email, so no matter that the danger to the pet's health could be significant, they discount anything that won't line their pockets. Stay away! Quality of service has declined A LOT in the last few months. My dog has been going to BondVet since he was a puppy, and service was great until a few months ago. Yea it was overpriced, but the vets WERE very nice and the offices were new and clean, so I said screw it. The last few times we have been in have been awful. They are hiring new inexperienced vets with poor bedside manor. I was pressured into additional services by a vet that began the exam without even introducing himself, and a scale almost fell on my dog during the exam. We had to wait for results and was told 5-7 days. 10 days passed and I had to call the vet to get the results. There was nothing wrong, but I was met with multiple suggested nexts steps, all of which were completely unnecessary and just a grab at my wallet. They also removed the chat feature from their app and are now closed on weekends. Needless to say, we are finding a new vet. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this Vet. They take such amazing care of my mini dachshund, Turbo. The office is beautiful which is a great plus. Turbo has been coming to Bond since we got him, and he just got neutered there. The staff was available via text the whole time. They sent him home with the sweetest goodie bag after his surgery and a certificate of bravery! They are available 24/7 via call and text for any concerns. Turbo was having some issues with his cone and we called around 10pm and we spoke to someone right away. He was also having some itching on the incision site and a doctor texted us late at night to offer suggestions. It's so great to have someone there 24/7. FINALLY a few days after his surgery, one of the AMAZING nurses who took care of Turbo reached out on his ig page to check in on him. It warmed by heart beyond belief and I am so glad that this place is only a few blocks from me. Thank you for taking such good care of my fur baby :) read more
