I found this place when I first got my puppy (olive) because almost every person I asked where to go to for dog grooming in the neighborhood recommended Reme's! And I'm so happy they did. Olive gets so excited every time I drop her off (which is not common for a dog grooming outing) and she comes out looking fresh and so happy always! Brought our beautiful 3yr old Norwegian Elkhound / Keeshond mix to confirm whether or not Reme Oggi could do a grooming session & hopefully also de-shed since our pup blows her coat this time of year and it's a lot of vacuuming. Everything was great, we met with the clerk and even brought her downstairs to where she'd be groomed to do a test with the vacuum to make sure our dog wasn't scared of the noise (she can be noise sensitive) - everything was fine, we got copies of her vaccination records and scheduled an appointment after agreeing on a price. Get a call this morning (appointment scheduled for 3 days from now, booked over a week ago) from a gentleman stating that there's been a mistake and that our dog's breed is "too difficult" for the "small" women who do the grooming downstairs. These were the same women who already met our dog - what gives? Highly unprofessional and disorganized.. Don't bother with this place unless you have a teacup sized dog. For the record, our dog is not large - she weighs about 30lbs and is the sweetest thing on the planet. read more

I waited over a month to write this review as I was hoping Reme and her team would make this right but they just haven't. I gave 2 stars because in fairness, my dog always seemed happy after daycare and when she's gotten a bath and face trim there it was done well. The reason it's only 2 stars is because of a mishandled outbreak of canine oral papilloma at their daycare. Over a month ago my 1.5 year old dog was attending daycare with them 1-2 days a week for 3-4 weeks. 1-2 days after a day of daycare, we noticed a small wart on our dogs mouth. Sent a picture to vet / went to vet and it was confirmed she had a oral papilloma. Immediately, I called Reme's to notify them as that's what a responsible dog owner does as I was told it was highly contagious . Reme herself called me back and said "oh I know where this came from we have a cavalier who comes here for daycare every day who we found out had the papilloma so we consulted a vet and all week we've been separating the dogs to give them water and we've been checking all the dogs mouths including your baby's. I didn't see one on her!" So Reme herself acknowledged that not only did they know this was going around and continue to have dogs come in- THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY DOG OWNERS THAT THIS WAS A HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS VIRUS GOING AROUND. THEY DID NOT GIVE US AS DOG PARENTS THE RIGHT TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION OURSELVES TO STILL LEAVE OUR DOG. Instead, they were "taking protocols" to prevent the spread (separating dogs for water breaks and cleaning the bowls in between, per Reme) and conducting mouth checks to look for warts, without our knowledge or consent, for a contagious virus they knew she was being exposed to by continuing to come to daycare. So fast forward- 3 weeks into our dog having this virus and not ONE phone call / email / text ANYTHING from Reme's. They know our dog got sick from their day care (Reme, the owner, acknowledged it herself to me) and they didn't check in after 3+ weeks. So, I called (almost 2 weeks ago now) asking to speak with her. Now of course, they were backpedaling, saying "they don't know maybe my dog is the one who gave it" (remember, they acknowledged themselves that they checked my dog that week and she didn't have a wart so clearly her infection FOLLOWED the dog they knew who had it). I explained to them that I was upset that they knowingly continued to welcome dogs into their daycare, despite knowing there was a contagious virus spreading throughout it, without notifying parents and letting them make an educated decision themselves about whether or not to leave their dog. They refused to acknowledge they handled this improperly. They told me "it's like when kids go to daycare and they get sick!" To which, I don't disagree. It's a known risk with dog day care. However, my problem is that the owner, Reme, told me herself that she knew an infected dog was at their daycare and they were "taking protocols" to avoid the spread but did not notify the dog parents that there was a risk of exposure if they dropped their dogs off at that time. During the call a Reme said "why does your dog still have the wart? My vet said it only lasts two weeks and other dogs who had it have returned because they're cleared!" Well that really gave me pause about the knowledge of their vet because if you google it, every piece of literature on the topic clearly states everywhere these oral papilloma's typically persist for 1-5 MONTHS. Now, this phone call where I expressed how upset I was that no one had checked in was almost 2 weeks ago and once again, no call to check in or anything. Reme- my dog STILL sick. She still has a massive wart on her mouth due to your mishandling. My extremely high energy, social dog cannot play with other dogs for 5 weeks now. We missed the holidays with our family last weekend because she can't be around other dogs. This has been extremely disruptive to our pups life and our lives as dog parents. I gave you 5+ weeks of the benefit of the doubt that you cared enough to check in with us but clearly that won't happen. My problem isn't that she caught an illness at a daycare- as I appreciate that I took that risk by bringing her to one. My problem is that 1. the daycare knowingly continued to allow dogs to come in while a virus was spreading without informing the dog-parents and allowing us to decide for ourselves if we wanted to assume that risk and 2. the complete lack of follow up from Reme and her team on my dogs well-being. read more

Awesome place to bring your pet for a grooming. My one year old Maltese Chloe always comes out of here happy and fresh. Weeks past her grooming I'm asked if she just came from the groomers. Place is kept extremely clean and the staff is very courteous. I'm comfortable leaving Chloe there while I run and get a few errands done. I came to them after my dog was not acclimating to another daycare facility in the neighborhood (I was told he sat in the corner crying the entire time). I called them to set up a trial and brought my dog in that evening to smell out the place. Wanda was so patient and kind. The next morning I dropped him off for his trial. He was a little hesitant to go in the play area but after getting a few treats from Michelle he willingly walked in. They were honest and upfront about his time there but did not make me fail like a massive mom fail. They showed me pictures of him from his time and they were pleased with his time and how he was acclimating. He went back today and dragged me to the front door!! As opposed to the other place where he would pull me away :( He had a good 1/2 day at daycare today and has been sleeping all afternoon!!! I know that this will take time but I have faith that with the help from the staff at Reme, my pup will thrive at daycare and grow confidence. I took my yorkie to Reme's Oggi Pets for daycare a couple of times. The staff is very nice and they only take small and medium size dogs in their daycare, I think that's great. At the time my dog was only 5 months old and he was happy to go there and very tied wen I picked him up. Everyone was very sweet to him. They have a little boutique with good dog beds, leashes, bowls and clothes. A little overpriced, but I must say it's not the kind of items you find just anywhere. A full day at the daycare will cost around $50 including taxes. read more

Reme's Oggi Pets is a wonderful place! The staff is great, owners live in my building and I couldn't be happier! When we come to leave Beenie at daycare he is SO excited to go in. He has made best friends with everyone who works there which, for him, is not common. He is usually very timid and very dominant hence leaving him to be a bit snappy around strangers BUT the staff knows how to handle him and have left him wanting to go through the doors every time we walk past the building. I used to be worried to leave him at places all day but I am confident in the staff, the clean facility and the other puppies! My dog Angie has been going to Reme's Oggi Pets for 8 years. She loves the play school so much that she can't wait to go back on Monday's since she spends weekends with us. She also get's groomed there. Not once, in 8 years, has there ever been a problem. She loves playing with all the dogs and there's always a human supervisor in the playroom. When she gets groomed she hangs out with the other dogs waiting to get their hair done. No cages. It's a fabulous place and I always know they're there when I need them. The staff is so kind and caring. And Reme and Bob, the owners, are always there too. The cost is more than fair and there's no where I feel safer for Angie when it comes to getting her hair trimmed etc. It's definitely one of the cleanest doggie day care facilities I have ever visited. We come here for grooming, and we are very satisfied, they are welcoming to our dogs, the know us when we walk in, the dogs are reasonably happy (as any dog will be at the groomers). I LOVE THIS PLACE! its my new and only place I will bring my Mochi too. Everyone was so kind from minute I stepped into the place. They listened to my request perfectly, at other shops they always go with what was easier for them, but this time they went exactly with my wishes. My Mochi was scared and even ran and sat by the door when we got in and refused to leave. When I came to pick her up she was soooooo happy and not even a feeling of anxiety. At other grooming places she is in a rush to leave. They made me and my dog feel so great and that I could trust them with her. It was a really snowy day for first day of spring but they let me come pick her up a little late due to finishing things up at my job. I used to take our pug to Reme's to be bathed. It was 1 1/2 blocks away so it was convenient to say the least. It's the cleanest place I've ever been in -- cleaner than many restaurants. Very attractive with merchandise nicely displayed. Bernie (my pug) always looked and smelled great when he was finished. I never did the daycare as I didn't need it. We recently moved to the D.C. area and I appreciate Reme's even more now. Haven't found anything comparable. I don't understand places like these. I went here a few weeks ago with my dog thinking I could get him groomed, maybe buy him a coat or bed, and the staff was super rude. From making me sound like an incompetent pet owner to making disparaging comments on my dog, I felt completely unwelcome. Go here only if you are wearing a mink coat and have a purebred at the end of a diamond leash. If not, the snobby store owners aren't interested in you. If not me, at least be nice to a poor dog. I was very disappointed in my recent experience at Remmy's. ElLISE, a special groomer who works with her own "doggie clients" on Thursdays is a former groomer of my mini poodle. For many, many years she groomed my dog at her previous salon. Because there were changes at my present dog grooming store I visited Remmi's and was told that Elise must be called to have her groom my mini poodle. I assumed she would remember us and welcome grooming my dog. NOT SO... I checked again with Remy in person and was told a worker would call her. I got a call back and was told that Elise said that the previous groomer there( I also knew her well) had bathed my dog because the bathers did not want to bath her because she was too old. NOT TRUE. The other goomer did me a favor by bathing her because I was a bit nervous about a new bather, yes, her usual bather has bathed her for 14 years. Elise said,"The bathers do not want to bath her because she is too old". I was hurt and shocked. Since when is there an age restriction in a grooming place? My dog is healthy, sweet , alert and loved by all. She is a delight to bath and groom. Perhaps this violates her civil rights, invoking age discrimination. But really, it is mean spirited. I visited Precious Pets, my current groomer and had a lovely experience. We were welcomed as always, and groomed by the present bather and groomer. Reme does a good job but she is very expensive. I have two dogs and she doesn't even give you a discount. After tips We end up paying more than $ 250 and since we groom our dogs every month it get to be too much. In comparison to other groomers in the neighborhood she is the most expensive. read more
