This is not for the branch but for the company! Horrible Experience - Incompetent, Unprofessional, and Cost Me Thousands I booked a travel service for my cat with Bond Vet, and it turned into an absolute nightmare. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and failure to handle basic paperwork not only cost me thousands but also made me miss my international flight. 1. Unprepared and Unhelpful Appointment I scheduled an appointment specifically for travel documentation, yet the vet had no idea about the travel requirements. They still charged me $100 for absolutely no help. 2. Unnecessary Charges for Rabies Shot I scheduled a rabies shot for my cat, which is required for travel. Instead of just administering the vaccine, they charged me another $100 for a "body check," despite it being less than a week after my previous visit. 3. Health Certificate Disaster They scheduled my health certificate appointment for Wednesday--my flight was following Monday. I requested an earlier appointment, but the best they could offer was Monday at a far-away branch. They didn't even ship my documents until Friday afternoon, meaning they'd arrive Monday morning--AFTER my flight left. When I called to ask for help, they refused to do anything. 4. Unreachable Doctors The doctor promised I could reach out if something went wrong with my documents. When I called, I was connected to a remote employee. I asked for a direct number to the vet, and they gave me the same number I called--play me like a fool 5. Medication Issue and No Solutions They prescribed a calm-down medication for my cat, but when it didn't work (as I had warned them it wouldn't), they told me to just go to a pet store for a solution. 6. Missed Flight and Huge Expenses Thanks to their incompetence, I missed my international flight, costing me $2,000 in Bond Vet fees alone--plus the cost of rescheduling my flight. 7. No Empathy, Just Money-Grabbing I was told their service is for "high-end customers" who pay for "good service." Well, if you're rich and a fool, Bond Vet will happily take your money and give you zero care or empathy. 8. Impossible to Reach Management I tried to reach management and was told I couldn't talk to a manager. They also wouldn't let me leave a message. Terrible customer service. Final Verdict: DO NOT go to Bond Vet if you need proper pet care. They're disorganized, incompetent, and only care about making money. Avoid at all costs.

Ezra had a great first visit here! Somerville's vets are all booked up with crazy waiting lists, so I decided to try out Bond Vet because I could get an appt ASAP. I booked it online, uploaded all of his prior medical information through their portal, and now have all of his medical paperwork in one place that I can easily pull up and download if needed. I can also easily download line itemed invoices to shoot over to the insurance company for my claims. Easy. As for the visit - it's super clean and staff is super friendly. His vet had already looked at his paperwork beforehand (which is more than I can say about my own doctor) and gave me a rundown of everything they were doing that day, what else they recommended he needed to have done, as well as explain why. Overall - quick, easy, painless (for me, I don't think Ezra liked getting his shots, but he was a trooper!) As for location, it's very easy to get to if you're driving. Just park in the large open lot and walk over. It's 3 hours free parking. No need for the garage or metered street parking. It's right off the Orange Line in Assembly Row if you're taking public transpo.

I'm so happy to have found a low stress facility that is flexible with procedures and processes to make things less stressful for your pet. They don't have a waiting room so you go right to the exam room. You can also wait in the car until the vet is ready if your pet is particularly anxious at the vet. Additionally their exam rooms are very comfortable with couches and dog beds rather than exam tables and hard chairs. We love the staff and the clinic!

Recently, I called to reschedule two appointments--one for June 29 at 8:00 a.m. for one of my dogs and another for July 10 for my other dog. On June 29, I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes from the North Shore to Watertown for the 8:00 a.m. appointment. When I arrived, I was told by the front desk that there was no appointment in their system and that they could not see my dog. It is possible that I missed the email confirmation, and if so, I accept responsibility for that. However, I know I scheduled the appointment over the phone, and what disappointed me most was not the scheduling error itself, but the complete lack of willingness to help resolve the situation. I explained how important the appointment was, yet the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than trying to accommodate us or offer a reasonable solution, she simply suggested that I come back a few hours later or on another day, despite the fact that I had just driven 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. I also felt that the staff made it seem as though the mistake was entirely mine. To make matters worse, I later learned that the July 10 appointment for my other dog had also been canceled without my knowledge or authorization. I never requested that it be canceled, and no one contacted me to confirm or notify me of this change. After being a loyal client for more than seven years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Because of this experience, I no longer feel I can trust this practice with my pets' care. My advice to anyone scheduling an appointment by phone is to ask for the name of the person you speak with. It may save you from making a long trip only to be told that your appointment does not exist.

Not for vet reactive pets…read more Prior to this month, I was satisfied overall with Porter Square Vet despite some mild issues, primarily around communication. I don't generally publish complaints but due to the vets unwillingness to discuss their errors, I feel obligated to warn any pet owners with vet-reactive dogs. When I moved to Somerville and brought my dog to Porter Square Vet, I was transparent that my dog is vet reactive. I mentioned that he doesn't like the vet in general but that he doesn't tolerate exams. I also mentioned that I had previously used a fear free vet who was willing to do sedation for annual exams / as needed to ensure adequate care. I was told we could consider that if it proved to be necessary. At my dog's first exam with them, I was given recommendations for dental hygiene products, which i purchase and utilized. At his last exam, I specifically asked about dental cleanings, as I had noticed a good amount of plaque build up on my dogs teeth when I was brushing them. The vet looked at my dogs mouth briefly and I was told it was necessary at that time. I brought my dog in this month due to non-specific behavior changes as well as some dietary issues and worsening bad breath. The vet offered a dental cleaning/check, which I agreed to. The procedure overall went fine, but I was told my dog had significant periodontal disease and that they had removed 14 teeth which was confusing considering I was told a dental clean was not warranted just 5 months prior. Upon voicing my frustration, I was told "the vet was unable to exam his teeth due to being muzzled for the exam." My dog requires additional vet care for which I sought a different practice since Porter Square Vet was unable to develop or follow an appropriate care plan and Porter Square Vet has now opted to ignore me.

From the moment we called ahead to say we were on our way, the staff were incredibly responsive and ready for us when we arrived. They quickly assessed the situation, diagnosed the issue, and carried out the necessary procedures. The clinic itself was very clean, welcoming, and well equipped. Dr. Estes explained everything clearly--what was happening, the prognosis, and what we should do next. The techs / nurses--Kim Nguyen, Kendra Baker, and Jennifer Ducharme--were also wonderful: professional, patient, and very caring. They were attentive throughout the entire process while our Pomeranian was undergoing sedation, and you could tell they genuinely cared. I'm sure they see situations like this every day, but they still treated our dog with the attention and care he needed. Small things like that matter. These are clearly very capable people who could work in many different fields--including human medicine--but they choose to care for pets, and it shows. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and would return again if needed. My one tip: call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.
