DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT ABOUT YOUR PET Today I had one of the worst healthcare experiences of my life at Bond Vet - Somerville. Full story below. My dog has been a Bond Vet patient for years. Last week, he was treated for an issue that did not resolve with the prescribed antibiotics. I called the Somerville office last night to explain my concerns about his ongoing symptoms and was instructed that I should bring him in right away this morning for an emergency appointment. When I arrived, there were 0 other patients in the office - all exam rooms were empty, as was the waiting room. I asked the receptionist, Hannah, how long I should expect to wait and she informed me that Dr. Rahel Lungo was in the back doing paper work and would not be able to see my pet. I explained that I had specifically taken time off from work to bring my pet in, per the office's insturctions, and expressed my confusion that a veterinarian could not take a few minutes to evaluate a sick patient already sitting in the clinic. Despite this, I was told there was "nothing they could do" and was directed to drive to another Bond Vet location 30 minutes away. I found the entire interaction unacceptable. This was one of the least patient-centric healthcare experiences I have ever encountered. The issue was not capacity constraints or an overwhelmed office - the clinic was visibly empty. The issue was a complete lack of accountability, urgency, and basic compasion from Dr. Rahel Lungo. It is deeply concerning to me that a veterinary organization that positions itself as modern and customer-focused would treat a long-standing patient in this manner. As a result of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my pet to Bond Vet. To Bond Vet - I encourage you to assess if this a problem isolated to Dr. Rahel Lungo or if this is a broader reflection of Bond Vet's position on patient care. read more

This Bond Vet location is super convenient if you live around Assembly -- it's clean, modern, and easy to get to. However, I've had repeated issues when bringing my cat in. They consistently have trouble drawing blood, and the appointments always feel rushed, like they're trying to move on to the next patient as quickly as possible. On top of that, the pricing is pretty outrageous for the level of care provided. It's disappointing because the location and setup are great, but the experience just hasn't felt thorough or worth the cost. read more

Communication is the worst experience I had AI system used, can never get though to a person Brought pet for a spay and never got pre care or post care instructions till a day before They did not follow through on what they said and never gave us updates on our puppy's situation until 645pm (they close at 8pm). Was supposed to let us know when her procedure started and we never got that text either so we're left hanging for three day Couldn't get documents for our insurancen, for a separate situation. It is rather unfortunate cause I was not going to share this but I got a call in the middle of the night to explain my review. I gave Bondvet Somerville 7/10 which I thought wasn't bad. Laura the manager called me and said "Why did you give us a 7?" I told her about how promotion for spring wellness was a little misleading cause it didn't say exactly what was free. When I messaged them I got a clearer answer and I paid for everything which was fine. Laura mentioned she thought I received two free simparicas and two free fecal samples which was completely false. And I just didn't like how she stated I got two free things when I followed the promotion rules. I only got one. I wasn't salty but its not nice to say I got two free things when I only got one. I understand I have two dogs with two vet visits but please do not try to tell me I tried to bypass the rules and acquire more free stuff when I didn't. The staff like in other reviews, they rushed the appt. Despite rushing me out, they were 30 minutes late to see us... We were ten minutes early... I understand that not everyone is perfect but calling me to ask me why I gave a 7/10 review is kinda annoying. They charge a lot and I was thinking this would be very difficult for communities who can't afford it. read more

I've been to bond vet a few times in the last few months. I found the service to be great. The vets seem very knowledgeable and understanding. I thought the price of the visits were very reasonable compared to other places I've been in the area. I also appreciated the transparency with the pricing. my cats were handled with ease and everyone was very nice. The place itself is very clean and comfortable and there is a parking garage right next door w hich is awesome. I like the ability to book online and they also saw us as a walk in this week when my cat had an asthma flare up. I was very impressed with the vet we saw, she def gave us plenty of attention answered all the questions although she would have to run out when her appointments showed up but I respected that she wasn't keeping her scheduled patients waiting as they were very busy that day and they were accommodating us walking in while they were completely booked. The girl at the front desk was so nice, and offered to get us an appointment at another location that had availability if I wanted, but I wasn't in a rush so it was fine to hangout until they had some time to see us. Horrible Experience - Incompetent, Unprofessional, and Cost Me Thousands I booked a travel service for my cat with Bond Vet, and it turned into an absolute nightmare. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and failure to handle basic paperwork not only cost me thousands but also made me miss my international flight. 1. Unprepared and Unhelpful Appointment I scheduled an appointment specifically for travel documentation, yet the vet had no idea about the travel requirements. They still charged me $100 for absolutely no help. 2. Unnecessary Charges for Rabies Shot I scheduled a rabies shot for my cat, which is required for travel. Instead of just administering the vaccine, they charged me another $100 for a "body check," despite it being less than a week after my previous visit. 3. Health Certificate Disaster They scheduled my health certificate appointment for Wednesday--my flight was following Monday. I requested an earlier appointment, but the best they could offer was Monday at a far-away branch. They didn't even ship my documents until Friday afternoon, meaning they'd arrive Monday morning--AFTER my flight left. When I called to ask for help, they refused to do anything. 4. Unreachable Doctors The doctor promised I could reach out if something went wrong with my documents. When I called, I was connected to a remote employee. I asked for a direct number to the vet, and they gave me the same number I called--play me like a fool 5. Medication Issue and No Solutions They prescribed a calm-down medication for my cat, but when it didn't work (as I had warned them it wouldn't), they told me to just go to a pet store for a solution. 6. Missed Flight and Huge Expenses Thanks to their incompetence, I missed my international flight, costing me $2,000 in Bond Vet fees alone--plus the cost of rescheduling my flight. 7. No Empathy, Just Money-Grabbing I was told their service is for "high-end customers" who pay for "good service." Well, if you're rich and a fool, Bond Vet will happily take your money and give you zero care or empathy. 8. Impossible to Reach Management I tried to reach management and was told I couldn't talk to a manager. They also wouldn't let me leave a message. Terrible customer service. Final Verdict: DO NOT go to Bond Vet if you need proper pet care. They're disorganized, incompetent, and only care about making money. Avoid at all costs. read more

Ezra had a great first visit here! Somerville's vets are all booked up with crazy waiting lists, so I decided to try out Bond Vet because I could get an appt ASAP. I booked it online, uploaded all of his prior medical information through their portal, and now have all of his medical paperwork in one place that I can easily pull up and download if needed. I can also easily download line itemed invoices to shoot over to the insurance company for my claims. Easy. As for the visit - it's super clean and staff is super friendly. His vet had already looked at his paperwork beforehand (which is more than I can say about my own doctor) and gave me a rundown of everything they were doing that day, what else they recommended he needed to have done, as well as explain why. Overall - quick, easy, painless (for me, I don't think Ezra liked getting his shots, but he was a trooper!) As for location, it's very easy to get to if you're driving. Just park in the large open lot and walk over. It's 3 hours free parking. No need for the garage or metered street parking. It's right off the Orange Line in Assembly Row if you're taking public transpo. read more

I was told selling prescription cat food without seeing the cat was against the law in Massachusetts, which is not accurate or true. According to M.G.L. Chapter 112, Section 58; and 256 CMR 1.00 et seq. of the Massachusetts Board of Veterinary Medicine this facility had an ethical obligation to provide my cat with necessary medicine which they failed to uphold. I plan on reporting this ethical lapse to the appropriate licensing institution. They refused to sell me the special cat food my cat needs, which I had a prescription for along with all of my cat's medical records for his entire life, without seeing my cat first even though it was an emergency as they were the only vets open on Sunday I could get to. When I asked the manager to cite a law she brushed it off saying it was "industry knowledge" and insisting I pay for a full appointment. The staff here are not familiar with veterinary law but will lie and say what it takes in order to get your money. I was willing to pay their exorbitant price just to have the food but they wanted more from me. The manager also insinuated that I was an irresponsible pet owner for not getting food sooner even after I told her I work three jobs and was not able to get somewhere sooner, after pretending to be sympathetic she turned around and used it against me because she didn't like that I was unhappy with the vet policy. They care more about enforcing their policies than making sure your animal gets good care. I was treated like a miscreant for forcefully advocating for my animal even though I never said an unkind word or raised my voice they lied to me and implied I was stupid and irresponsible for not liking the lie. Don't go to this vet if you are only human, they value enforcing arbitrary policies over pet health. Don't even take your pet here to be put down because they'll take advantage of your grief to sell you expensive unnecessary funerary packages. I do not recommend - they missed giving my dog a vaccine he needed and the doctors within the practice disagree with each other on care plans for pets - contradicting each other. Truly an upsetting experience, they totally ruined my level in trust with their doctors. read more

We've been taking our dog to Bond Vet for the past year. The clinic is nice and convenient and yes, they are extremely over priced. But what is going to take us elsewhere is their terrible scheduling policy and customer service. It's impossible to get someone on the phone and, when you do (after waiting 30 min), they will charge you to cancel your appointment! My dog was limping, so we made a vet appointment to get it checked a few days ago. Last night he was still limping, but this morning he woke up fine and ran around the dog park, so I decided to cancel the appointment because there is no need to take our dog to a clinic if they are no longer injured. After 30 min wait, I got someone on the phone who said she would cancel the appointment without mentioning a cancellation fee. Before hanging up, I clarified that no fee would be incurred and she put me on hold for a few minutes before coming back and saying that she will, in fact, charge a $25 cancellation fee. I asked for a waiver given the fact that... our dog is no longer limping... and got zero sympathy. We'll look for a new clinic moving forward. read more

I brought my pup here this weekend, and am so grateful for their team. I needed some urgent medical care for my dog, and our regular vet was closed. After calling 5 other emergency vets in the area, Bond Vet was the only one that could get us in at the last minute (despite that being the point of emergency clinics?). Even for a walk-in appointment, I only had to wait about 10 minutes before seeing a vet. My pup ended up needing an x-ray, and they kept her for about two hours so their team could take care of it between all of the scheduled appointments. When it turned out she needed care they couldn't provide, they even helped us call around to other emergency hospitals in the area to find one that could see us right away. Actual veterinary care aside, the clinic is one of the nicest I've seen. It's super aesthetic, has all kind of treats for the animals, and even mints and such for the humans! They offer online appointments and walk-ins, which is rare in this area. It's expensive for sure, but every vet in Boston is. My girl is doing better by the day, but I don't know what we would have done if they couldn't see us. I'll definitely be back when I need them, but hopefully not too soon! read more

Not happy with the service, my dog had 2 tumors that was told needed to be removed. Was called with the date for the Surgery and was told to needed a $500 deposit and will send an invoice never received invoice the day before the Surgery never received any information of guidelines or anything. Had to call them to get their information. Surgery went well picked her up had to make two appointments One how the stitches were doing in second to remove the stitches set them up before I left, and there was nothing in the system. Was told there was cancer and that when I went to the checkup visit they would give me more information. Got to the checkup and the vet was leaving and go no information until I had to ask. Was told that she needed medication they did not have it that I would pay( I did make a payment ) and they will call lynnfield and will call me when to pick it up the appointment was scheduled n Tuesday it was Thursday and no call had to call them to find out it was really sense Tuesday for pickup. When my husband went to pick it up they told him he owed 80.00 that was a surprise to me from what they said. I called very upset no answer left a message and go lt a call back 2 day later. The person on the phone was very frustrated and said I got a refund that I did not and just felt she did not want to talk to me said the manager will call you. That was Friday and it's Wednesday no call back. Went to get her stitches out in one of the ones under her leg they needed to keep two stitches in because it was not completely closed and because they know that I'm going to see a completely different vet different site for Oncology was told all they can take it out you would think that they would want to finish their services and have her seen and remove them not Happy with the service that all the miscommunication I would not recommend some of them. Our precious Yorkie Dolce's health was failing, and we knew it was time. This was the first time visiting Bond Vet. The veterinarian Dr.Doherty and her assistant were outstanding. After doing a exam she agreed it was time to let Dolce go across the Rainbow Bridge. Dolce was special. We rescued her after she was abused by her former owner in 2012. So let me say now the compassion that the Dr. her assistant and all at Bond show our family at our difficult hour was truly amazing. Thank you. read more

I had a benign cyst that was hanging off my cats front paw removed for her comfort (not medically necessary) It was a simple 20 minute procedure which left my cat unable to use her back legs for 3 days and incontinent and had to be hand fed as she couldn't get to her food. I waited 23 hours to call them in case it was the effects of anesthesia or some medication that they gave her ,even though she did not receive general anesthesia. I called Bond Vet the next am to have a Vet examine her and review the medications they used and draw her blood to make sure it wasn't life threatening. They told me there was no one that could see me and to go to the ER . I told them it would cost 1k and could I at least speak to a Vet or video for an evaluation. They said there was no Vet available and that the surgery was done at Chestnut Hill and they were closed. My cat was a patient at Somerville and they sent me to the CH location for the surgery and there are 4 other locations locally. They couldn't offer me any appt or evaluation not a phone call or anything but go to the ER. There is nothing in place for post op issues or questions , there is no on-call Vet and the disregard for their patient having an adverse reaction at their hands is unethical. So I took my cat to the ER for 959$ for them to tell me it's was too much long acting pain medicine that was administered to the cat post surgery. Bond Vet manager called to tell me she "understands my frustration " ??? I've been a nurse for 28 years . Had my patient come out of a 20 minute hand cyst removal and lost use of their legs a doctor would have checked them out for sure m ... "sorry for your frustration, sir, that you cannot use your back legs" would not have gone over well. Bond Vet is below par... Disclaimer . I did have the surgeons personal email And she did respond to that email with a phone call while I was at the ER. read more

The staff is overworked and understaffed. I came here during the weekend and like every other vet place, this place was stretched thin. I would appreciate it if the company's corporate outlook would change and allow them to take fewer appointments to give better quality. I only went here once with my family pet but I will be moving to another practice. read more

I've never been to a clinic that is so expensive and to top it off I had a feeling my cat had parasites and they kept telling me no she doesn't know she doesn't so I bought her feces in and guess what she parasites how can I diagnose my own cat without any equipmentand they're telling me that she doesn't have it when it came back positive never again read more
