By far the best barbecue place I've ever been in. The pork was perfect, brisket was great, and ribs were oh my god!

I came here on a Saturday night and was sat down immediately. Our waitress, Alexis, was very nice and attentive despite taking care of multiple tables. The atmosphere was very nice, if you've never been, think a Hooters with a dark vibe and musky BBQ smell and you've got Bone Daddy's. I'll admit that I was kind of disappointed with the small menu. I wish they had more options to choose from but I guess that's my fault for expecting variety from a BBQ place. The drinks menu is all alcoholic. Since I don't drink I just took a stab and asked if they had lemonade, but it would've been nice to know what other nonalcoholic drinks were available for me. The wings were very good, and very messy. The beans were just the right amount of tangy and sweet with just enough kick. The fries were also very tasty, not too salty and not too bland. My biggest complaint would have to be the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich comes with the buns, the pulled pork and some BBQ sauce. I ended up drenching it in BBQ sauce, I'm talking half the bottle, and yet the meat was still very dry to me. Everything else was great, the sandwich left me disappointed though. If you're looking for good BBQ with a good view, Bone Daddy's is your place. If you're looking for good wings and more variety, go across the street to Pluckers. read more

To me, Bone Daddy's personifies good ol' Southern hospitality...you know, where everyone calls you "hon" or "sweetie" with a smile and a genuine-ness that is lost in today's world. I walked in on a recent Tuesday afternoon after checking in at my hotel. Even though Bone Daddy's was about 10 miles away, I knew I was going to pay them a visit based on various Yelp reviews and let's be honest, the food in the pictures. I'm happy to report that the food really is THAT good, and the service is even THAT much better. My server was bartender Jamie, and she didn't skip a beat. She was vivacious, energetic, conversational, and made great recommendations for food. I settled on the 3-meat combo (pulled pork, sliced brisket, and smoked turkey) which came with 2 homemade sides (Roadhouse spuds and Mac & cheese). Every single thing on that plate was worthy of an award...so deliciously smoky and cooked absolutely perfect. Brisket is usually a hit-or-miss, but here it was done expertly. Howdy, one and all. Yesterday, my brother and I went to have lunch at Bone Daddy's and this was our second visit. Sure enough, we were not disappointed. This time a lovely waitress (lady), Ava was just as excellent as our last waitress (Rachel), and was very friendly courteous, and very genuine. (hmm.... are all the waitress part of a model magazine)? We both ordered the prime brisket sandwich I got a sliced prime brisket sandwich with onion rings and fried okra, and he got the shredded prime brisket sandwich with onion rings and creamy coleslaw. The sandwich and onion rings/friend okra and creamy coleslaw are to die for. I can't wait to go the Bone Daddy's again if not for the food the waitresses who are so genuine and very polite. Like Rachel, Ava, treated us as if we were her only customers. She was quick and very precise with all that she did while helping us and the other tables assigned to her area. Its the waitresses such as Rachel/Ava, will cause me to always want me to visit there again. Bone Daddy, whatever you're doing in giving training to your staff, don't change a thing is you do change, please change for the better. I would highly promote these two young ladies. Worst Bbq I've ever had by far it's not even close I ended up throwing the ribs, brisket sandwich, potato salad, mash potatoes, and Mac and Cheese in the trash. Had a great visit. Sat in the bar area and was quickly greeted by my waitress (Chaisten). She got me a cold beer quickly and then walked me through the menu and made some recommendations to help me out. I had the two meat platter with burnt ends and slice brisket. My plate was in front of me almost immediately after I placed my order. The meat was tender and flavourful and my sides of coleslaw and a mashed potato with bacon and cheese were great. Service - 4 Stars Food - 3 Stars T & A - 4 Stars Not exactly sure what the business plan is in this place. Is it a men's club or a BBQ restaurant? You almost need to judge it from both standpoints. As a restaurant is deserves 3 stars. Nice decorations inside and out, (and I'm not talking about the waitstaff, I'll get to them later.) Somewhat darkish in lighting, very pleasant. Sandwiches are $8.99 and come with small bowl of spicy beans and fries. My wife had the pulled pork, which had a nice flavor. I've eaten several times at the Bone Daddy's in Grapevine and I'm always liked their brisket or chopped beef. The BBQ sauce is spicy and thick, with a smoky tang in its flavoring. I'm a fan of their fries, crisp and flavored with some saltiness. I'm also a fan of the beans they serve. Spicy and sweet in a thick sauce. I made the mistake of ordering the Club salad. Too late, I remembered my Daddy's advice, "Son, the two most important things in life are: don't take a knife to a gun-fight; and most important of all, never, never, order a salad at a BBQ joint!" The biggest problem was that the turkey and ham had been cut into chunk size bits of very dry meat and dropped into a bowl of iceberg lettuce and the usual suspects of tomatoes, carrots and croutons. Not worthy of a repeat. Stick to the other items. As a side order, I got some mac and cheese ($1.99). I personally thought is was fine, but my wife tasted it, pronounced it "bland" and turned her nose up. Dismissed! Now as to the men's club side of it. I'd give it a 4 Star for the overall attractiveness of the waitresses and the scantiness of their costumes. The bottoms start real low below the navel and the top is short and emphasizes as well as creates a lot of cleavage. This outfit reveals a lot of tattoos. Also, this kind of costume is not for the volumptuous figure, so they must have some kind of screening process for their wait staff, as they were universally slim and trim. Our server was very professional and did a great job of keeping the tea and water full. My wife and I agreed we would be eat there again, so the flesh show was immaterial to us. This place is like a Hooters but with better looking ladies and much better food as well. At least the food is better I say, because we all know most folks don't go to Hooters for the food! Bone Daddy has a lively western feel to it, mashed up with a little neon light flair. Everyone seems to be real friendly and you can get good BBQ without breaking the bank. Also a nice selection of beers, which is served in an old school like gas dispenser that sits at the end of your table. Nice, light, flaky coating; the dipping sauce was "meh" - I stopped using it after the first try. For my entree, I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was rather tasty, as was their BBQ sauce that I dabbed on as I ate the 'wich. The fries were almost great; just a bit over-seasoned... or, the seasoning was too close to that of those 'fake' curly fries you can get at some places. The beans? UGH. They were - if this is even possible - OVERLY flavored. Overly-sweet. Overly-"smoky". Just inedible (3 of the 5 of us didn't eat much of them at all). And, ok... I know I'm a chick, so the waitresses are NOT meant for ME. But... I've never seen so many hipless, anorexic women in one place. Seriously. It was scary. The service was terrible, the girls were rude, and they were messing up orders left and right. I had the chopped pork sandwich and it was pretty unimpressive, not to mention it was rather small, and where the hell was the BBQ sauce?! I did like the fries that came with it and they also had 32 ouncers for 6 bucks so thats the ONLY reason they get 2 stars. If your looking for good BBQ I'd recommend taking that 6 hour drive down the interstate to Cou-youns in Baton Rouge, but if that's a little too much for ya, drive on past Bone Daddy's to a different restaurant! I think it's just the thing when you're young... you've still got "it" without having to work at it, so there is weirdly random thin hot bodies with no muscle tone. Whatever. Enjoy it, ladies. It goes quicker than you think. Time to get to the point: the food is really, really good. I had brisket (soft), pulled pork (melt-in-your-mouth), cole slaw (creamy but not watery and not gloopy) and an order of the cheesy spuds, which is essentially a scoop of scalloped potatoes. My GOD it was good. I ordered another side of cheesy spuds... for dessert. Prices were decent/average, with the build-your-own combo plate ranging from $12-$17, and appropriately so. When I first heard about this place and that I was told that was like the Hooters of BBQ, I'll be honest- I didn't want to try it. Not only do I not enjoy hooters's food but I figured it would be more about the girls than the food. After my first time I was hooked. They have really good food. I'm weird when it comes to BBQ. I don't like BBQ sauce, to me if the BBQ is good and has a good flavor then it really doesn't need any sauce. I have tried almost everything on the menu and haven't found anything I don't like yet. The restaurant has plenty of space and a bar area that if you choose not to wait you can walk in and sit at the bar. That's if there is any space because they stay busy- specially during the weekend. The wait is never too bad though, maybe 20 to 30 minutes. The parking situation it's no bueno. They have too many restaurants in the highlands and they all kind of share parking. During the weekend they do offer valet parking. If you happen to try one of the delicious sandwiches, they come with fries and beans. You can try something else and don't have to just get beans and fries but that's just what it comes with. If you like Mac and cheese be sure to try it out. They have these delicious rolls too but if you are counting calories I suggest you stay away from those. They keep the place clean and the service is not too bad. You might get lucky and get some of the ladies that have been there for a while and then your service will be great. For sides, we got fried okra, spiced apple slices, baked beans, bacon cheesy potatoes and some cheddar rolls. Everything surpassed our expectations except maybe the chicken - it was a little bland (it was extremely moist though). I would definitely be happy to come back and pig out here again. I really wish you could see the dishes. They were huge! We ended up taking almost everything home. Our food came out extremely fast so that was pretty awesome. Can't complain about their food, because all we (husband and me) ate was an appetizer. It was good. We sat at the bar. Ordered drinks. My husband likes to take shots of this and that with his beer and I like mixed drinks....I don't know where they hire, or what corner they pick up their girly bartenders but they don't know how to make any kind of drink, plus they got the order wrong. Granted I've been to tons of bars and seen lots of pretty girls behind the bar (I don't mind half naked girls, I like looking too), where they can serve real drinks. The 2 girls bartending on a Saturday night didn't even know what Amaretto was...seriously? They're laughing and saying this out loud for everyone to hear. Plus one of the girls' boyfriend (we heard him say out loud he was, or pretending to be) was just sitting there like he was stalking her. HELLO!! Bartending 101, you gotta know your list of basic liqueurs or else how are you going to mix anything!!?? There's your list of Cordials, list of distilled spirits, your basic mixing stuff...I can go on and on. We are new in town and we like to enjoy a drink or two after a movie. We visit various restaurants, grills and bars - but this? You gotta match the knowledge with the hunny's they got workin there. Something's gotta give, looks don't last forever. It discouraged us from ordering food and ordering anymore drinks. Alcohol, is a big money maker for restuarants, it's a shame they have an unknowledgeable staff running the bar. I'm a big BBQ fanatic, but I thought I'd throw a chain joint into the mix just to see how the non-pit-smokin' joints are doin in the world. I was fairly impressed, though it doesn't compare to true cancer-causing smoked meat. Everything came as expected: good service desiring tips, decent BBQ sauce, not bad meat, sleazy guys... pretty Hooters-esque, but with a side of a hot towel! That's great when you're eatin sauced up ribs. I mean without a hot towel, it would've totally been a deal-breaker. Before I review the food: One really freaky thing was the restaurant didn't know the difference between spare ribs and baby backs. I was planning on ordering a half rack of each, but the server said that spareribs were basically baby backs that were not cut individually. AHHHH!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?!?!?! I cringed and cried, then I ordered an entire rack of these "spare/baby ribs." So along with the ribs, beer-can chicken and beef were our agenda for the night. The ribs were really moist and tender, and the crust was smoky and flavorful. The sauce on top had a mild heat and sweetness. A nice rack, but still... it lacked that true smoky feel. The beer-can chicken was moist. That's about it. Pretty underseasoned. Couldn't even really taste the beer flavor. The brisket was as dry as brisket can be. But, smothered in their sweet BBQ sauce, it was ok. Not even close to having a real smoke ring. The food averaged out to be sub-par, but all things aside, Bone Daddy's isn't half bad for casual BBQ eating. It's just a different atmosphere than your podunk establishments. read more

I have to say, the atmosphere is the place is quite eclectic, but in a good way. Its like a mix of "old farm BBQ", "bubba gumps" and a sports bar. The staff wear a minimal outfit (tight black shorts, loose tops with only a bit left to the imagination), but there attitude and friendly attitude was very appreciated. They are also "normal" looking (not to say they weren't attractive, but sometimes at places like this that have the waitstaff dress in skimpy clothes are not good waiters, but just meant for "eye-candy". These were a nice mix of both!). The food was quite good (we had chicken wings (B+), Ribs (B), Chicken Fried Chicken (B-)) and the sides were also nice (Mac and Cheese (B), Potato's (C), Apples (B), Corn (B)). The prices were really reasonable for the quality of the food and the friendly service and that's what pushes it to a 4-star rating rather than a 3-star. Dinner, appetizer, drink and an extra side for about $15.00 each. I would recommend it if you are looking for a relaxed, "sports-esq" place to eat with friends. Apparently a relatively new location. This was my second time at Bone Daddy's. This time, I split the Beer Can Chicken with a friend, which was a good thing since you get the whole chicken. I have to say that the chicken was too salty, which ruined the flavor of the chicken. Maybe the chef had a sip of the beer before pouring it in. I prefer the ribs I had at the Dallas location. As for the waitstaff, I give them a 9-9.5/10. Our server was especially attentive, amiable, and attractive.
