Saw this spot while searching for food to eat and decided to stop by. Faith's is locked in the back of the liquor store and has very limited seating. I ordered to go and decided to do the 2 piece catfish + fries. The catfish was fried hard (like I like it) and seasoned very well. The fries were ok. I've been here a few times, and the food is always so hot and fresh. It's made to order so be prepared to wait a little bit. Good home cooked food made with love! It's hard to find that now of days. It's inside the gas station close by downtown Mansfield off Main. This time I had the whole wings. Those wings were so HUGE, and you get 3. I'm already full after one. When you go to other chicken places the wings are so small. I tried the green beans for the first time and they were flavorful. Also the mac & cheese was good. Stopped by because my mom was in town and she wanted some fried fish. A wonderful lady answered the phone and took my order. She was kind and I was close by the location as I ordered. Two piece catfish with fries and shrimp. A little salty but all in all great place to try. Service was quick and the location inside a gas station. Menu easy to access and seats for waiting. Maybe it's because I got there close to closing but the grease needs to be changed because you can smell how burnt it is from outside! The service was top tier. But the food did NOT match. They told me 15 minute wait, it was 50. They forgot my red beans and rice. The fries lacked flavor and were soggy. I got garlic parm. Chicken 0/10. No flavor and burnt. Mac doesn't even taste like Mac. Has a sweet flavor but can't taste the cheese. No condiments or grilled onions on smash burger. MID. Shrimp was pink when she pulled out fridge so I'm going to assume they reached room temp and put back in fridge . 2/10 overall waaaay to hyped. I saw a bitter review, by someone who does not know how to say no onions. It's sad how some adults are allowed to use this app when they don't know how to order. I have tried Faiths kitchen twice, it is a filling cheat meal. You will not get the better portion getting the catfish and shrimp platter. I also recommend going there with time to kill since everything is made to order. Also if you are person who likes reheated franchise food this ain't for you. I heard about Faith's from my Lil Brother he's 6'4 345lbs he knows Good food!!! This was the Absolute BEST Fried Catfish, Shrimp & parmesan Fries I've EVER eaten. It was Soooo good I returned the very next day hoping to get the exact same meal. When I arrived she was closing early because she sold out of food. My brother said If I thought that was good eat a Smash Burger, I'm almost afraid because I luuuvvvv hamburgers. I will definitely be going to get one this week. I bought the Faith Platter.Fish was good crust was dark oil needed to be changed.6 pc.shrimp was 5pc.missing one.I'm not a fan of sweet can turnip greens.4 veggies,sweet potatoes,cabbage half filled,cabbage scorched.Mac& cheese I can deal with.Chicken nuggets are better without the terrible sauce they have to put on it.Tartar sauce glorified mayo and pickle relish,maybe with a little thousand island.I would have rather told them, but I could not get anyone to call me back.Maybe they had a bad day.Sweet Lady.I drove along way just to try them.One long trip they was not open next one I paid to much money for what I got.IPray they will get better,the hype was bigger than what was delivered.I gave them a hard 3./ Madea's Down Home cooking is where I will be going if I have to drive that far. I drove all the way to the "restaurant" which is inside of a gas station, during the posted business hours, and it was not open. It's 12:45. There's a sign on the counter saying opening @12:15 but nobody is here. No answer and the gas station attendant just refers you to her instagram. I heard about her on instagram. Very disappointed. So I was very excited to eat at faiths kitchen, I heard nothing but good things, we went on a Saturday and it was packed , we paid for our food and the cashier said it will be 40 minutes. that was fine with us, we come back and we ask is our order ready and the cashier said they are working on it now. we start to see people who were behind us getting there food, so I say it's almost been an hr to one of the cooks and she says "DID YOU PAY AT THE GAS STATION REGISTER". I'm in awe because no one told us to pay at the gas station register, we thought we were supposed to pay at faiths kitchen when the food was ready! I say to the lady no one told us that, this our first time. she states " I work with the food I didn't know". Very unorganized I won't return, we wasted 1 hr of our day. Don't believe the hype! We had high hopes after reading other reviews on Facebook, but were very disappointed with everything we tried. We had the cheeseburger, fries, greens n cabbage, catfish, mac n cheese. The so called smashburger was just 2 small thin pieces of meat (not smashburger style like we've had at other places) with grilled onions under the melted cheese, so if you don't like onions...good luck trying to scrape them off, the onion flavor was very overpowering and the fries were beyond boring/basic. The fried catfish looked good and had great color, but was lacking any sort of flavor. The greens n cabbage weren't good, the flavor was off-putting. The "mac n cheese", if that's what you would even call it, was greasy, very strange tasting and texture was weird...it is definitely different than any mac n cheese that I've ever had. Sorry to say, everything went in the trash. Waste of money. read more
