I had not been to a Bonefish grill in quite awhile, but I went Tuesday evening as a last minute decision. I was actually headed out for a steak, but along the way, I thought fish would be a better option for me. I sat at the bar where there were several open seats. I started by ordering a house merlot, since it was still Happy Hour. After searching the menu, I inquired about something called Butterfish. I had never had it. Kelli, the bartender, said it was similar to Sea bass. I decided to try it. It came with a choice of two sides. I selected mashed potatoes and broccoli. I also ordered a side salad ala carte. The fish was as advertised, very fresh and tasty. Cooked perfectly. The sides weren't anything special, but I didn't need that. The salad was great, sprinkled with a generous amount of sunflower seeds. Dinner came with a warm mini loaf of artisan bread, with an olive oil, pesto dipping mixture. I could have made dinner with the salad and the bread it was so good. Service was pleasant and timely. Now that I have "broken the ice" so to speak on this Bonefish, I hope to return again and try something else. I don't go out as much as I used to due to higher prices, but it's nice for me to know that there is a good seafood restaurant not far away. read more

Went to Bonefish Grill in Boynton Beach for the first time last night. The extensive menu provides something for everyone. I had the grilled shrimp with pineapple special and garlic mashed potatoes, which was delicious. It should be added to the regular menu, as it was that good. Ordered takeout and went to pick it up. We ordered two bread got one the lady gave us two more as we came back from the car and explained we were missing bread. Food was good packed well but when we arrived home one side rice was missing. We paid extra for a side of rice to begin with so my mother in law ate w no rice. This was my first time back at Bonefish Grill for a couple of years. In the past, I was not so impressed with the food. This time I had a better experience. Walking in, the hostess, Lia, was super friendly. She was busy doing something to help out the whole time we were there. We were seated quickly at a booth. Our server Justin was very nice. The bread was nice and crusty. We got seconds, because it was so delicious. My husband ordered the Rhea's Snapper. The salsa was very citrusy and complimented the snapper. I ordered the bourbon glazed fillet. It was cooked nicely. I wouldn't have minded having a bigger serving. The whipped potatoes were tasty. My asparagus was not very green. I would've liked to have had asparagus with a little more flavor. We finished dinner with nicely made cappuccino, and crème brûlée, which I ate every last bite. Went to lunch last week with a bunch a friends and when I ordered, I asked the waiter when we're ready to leave to have ready for me to bring home to my husband I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich What he brought me was appalling? I questioned the server what this was It was a blob of chicken, probably 2" x 2" and a half an inch thick on a bun with a bag of french fries His answer to me was this is normal and I said this is totally abnormal and this can't be real To the cashier and showed it to him and his look told me that this is not normal I noticed a woman, and I assume that she might be manager, and I asked her about this and she said Yes this is our chicken sandwich lunch I told him to take it back and get it off my bill It looks like a two year old, made it Bonefish Boynton Beach you'll never see me again read more

You can never go wrong with five dollar Mondays at bonefish grill! They have a great drink menu with various options for five dollars. I started off with their complementary bread service, and of course, the infamous bang bang shrimp for my appetizer for my meal. I chose the stuffed salmon with brussels sprouts which finally made their way back to the menu. You really can't beat it. read more

Probably one of the worst dining out experiences I've had. My family and I decided to come here as a celebration/wanting to try a new place. It started off okay but things quickly turned toward the worst. Everyone in the group ordered a drink and some appetizers. We got the calamari and it was just awful. Tiny and just all breading, we barely ate it. Nachos were decent but extremely spicy. Even for people at the table that like spice. We put in our food order and ordered another round of drinks. The food was taking pretty long so we wound up ordering another round of drinks while we waited. When the server took that order, she told us that was our last round and that we couldn't order anymore drinks. She said it was a Florida law that you can't have more than 3 drinks. I go out to dinners/happy hours pretty often and I have never heard that before. I was so surprised. She was a bit rude/condescending about it so we asked to speak to a manager while we still waited for our food. We had to ask twice before she went and got him. The manager came over and explained that there is a corporate policy for Bonefish and that guests can only have 4 drinks and he didn't understand why she capped us at 3. We said we understood/accepted that it was a policy but it was strange how our server reacted and how she wasn't being truthful. He wound up comping our food and told us whenever we were finished, we could leave out the back door. Strange. I left 2 stars because the main courses were decent and the manager comped the meal but overall, terrible experience and I won't ever go back to a bonefish. read more

Bonefish Boynton is not just for the silver hair crowds early bird dinners anymore! They now have the coolest food and cocktail pairings a couple of times a month! I got a heads up from my Love that they were offering their first Brunch special event the same weekend my bestie was coming for a girls weekend! She and I made reservations right away. We had soooooo much fun and the food and drinks were fantastic! Our server Van was attentive and super helpful in organizing alternative cocktails for my friend who is allergic to the sulfates in vodka. Van spoke to the bartender and the bartender made two different cocktails on the fly when the vodka drinks were served. Shout out to that bartender too... the regularly planned cocktails AND the improvised no vodka cocktails (I got to try sips of hers) were so good. They also decorated the tables that were participating in the brunch with cute fall decor. They also sat brunch participants family style so we got to chat up some new people during brunch. All food was served individually though so there was no awkward family style sharing situation. Amuse Bouche: they started us out with a tasty small bite plate of tequila soaked fried angel food cake bites with a tequila lime syrup to dip it in. Holy everything whoever thought of this was a genius it was delicious! The cocktail served with it was a mimosa ! Course 1: shrimp and grits, and not a small portion either...because this was four courses we figured it would all be small plates, but we were mistaken...this was a regular serving size and so delicious we pretty much both ate our entire helping. The cocktail served with this course was a Sunny Side Up martini. It was a satisfying orange and maple syrup martini with a garnish of candied bacon with a little egg shaped gummy candy. Loved! Course 2: Bang Bang Shrimp eggs Benedict. A ginormous helping of well made eggs Benedict where they use their bang bang sauce in the hollandaise sauce. Came with home fries on the side. The cocktail this round was Sparkling Mango White Sangria. My bestie and I loved it, but the other 4 ppl at the table left theirs alone after a sip...not sure what they tasted that we didn't. I thought it was sparkly and fruity and refreshing. We each packed half this course to take home for breakfast the next day. Course 3: crème brulee French toast. This was the only disappointment. We hoped it would be custardy with a crunch brulee crunch on the outside. Instead it was very dry with only a slight brulee suggestion on some of the toast. We were so full by this point we packed it for the next day. The final cocktail was the espresso based Wake Up Call. I don't love coffee or coffee flavors, but it was good. For someone who likes coffee it would probably have been a big hit. I order take out all the time from this location. The portions on last nights order was ridiculous! The crab fries had about a tablespoon of crab. The normal order has a ton of crab. The asparagus was microwaved and pretty pathetic for $6.00. I am extremely disappointed and don't see myself ordering anytime soon. I should get the same portions whether I dine in or do take out. Our reservation was honored within 15 minutes of our booking time. Our waiter Chris was spot on with filling our beverages without asking. We had the fish dip with chips and the bang, bang shrimp for appetizers. We did notice that the shrimp wasn't as spicy as it had been during previous visits. Chris made sure that we were satisfied with our orders. 3 salmons, each with a different sauce. Bourbon, Asian and lemon butter. Everyone was very satisfied with their choices. The 4th dish was Chicken Marsala. That guest was very happy with his choice as well. Everyone seemed to have similar sides. Garlic potatoes, asparagus and spinach. The spinach could have been drained better. The plate was saturated with green liquid. After the restaurant emptied a bit, you could hear the soft background music which was a nice touch. I have dined at Bonefish before but my first time at the Boynton Beach location. The location is in a shopping plaza which could easily be missed if you're not familiar with the area. The decor and ambiance was nice. We chose to come for lunch and was surprised to see it almost empty. Our waiter Arcedes was friendly but not engaging or informative when it came to the menu. We all chose the 3 course meal items. The Caesar salad, Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and Kung Pao Shrimp Bowl were delicious! However, the one disappointing part of this experience was the service. The lack of attention from our waiter led us to speak to the manager named Leslie. She was very polite and apologetic. Her genuine concern and willingness to listen is why we will return in the near future. I sincerely hope this was just a rare occurrence because the food was great!! read more

Can't believe that I forgot to take pictures while dining at Bonefish Grill this past Saturday evening! Before attending a painting event nearby, my sisters and I decided to make a night of it and have dinner as well. Bonefish Grill was an excellent choice. One of my sisters made a reservation for us, so we were quickly seated and brought menus. Our server quickly also handed me the gluten free menu I requested. I heard the next table ask about a happy hour special so our server gave us the happy hour menu as well. I was able to enjoy a Margarita for just $7. The Chicken Marsala with Garlic Whipped Potatoes and Green Beans was delicious, particularly the wine sauce. One of my sisters ordered the Anglers Sirloin Steak which was served medium as she requested and loved. My other sister enjoyed the Fontina Pork Chop. Our server checked on us frequently throughout our dinner. One of us accidentally spilled a drink. She was quick to help us as well as another server who was nearby. The only downside of the evening was that the ladies room could have used a little attention. I made the mistake of selecting this place because the happy hour menu looked fun to celebrate my husbands graduation. From the time the server got to our table she didn't seem to like us much; was discouraging us from ordering happy hour drinks and telling us we need to drink water cause it's hot outside. The food was honestly pretty terrible minus the free bread. The apps all were randomly spicy and the calamari was so chewy it was hurting my jaw. The icing on the cake was when the waitress came to our table and told us we were cut off after three drinks and it was Florida law. One think I can't stand is a liar. It is not Florida law and mind you I had three drinks but the other people at the table only had 2 and she was denying any of us more. I asked for a manager because it's not law and after waiting and asking for the manager twice he came over and told us it's not Florida law but restaurant policy to not allow customers more than four drinks.... I eat out a lot and do many happy hours; never in my LIfe have I heard this. Those weak drinks they serve at happy hour weren't even good! How does bonefish plan to stay in business I wonder? I think it came down to the restaurant was filled with people 90 plus years old and they didn't want anyone young in there, my only guess. Happy to be able to get a reservation for 6 of us on a Saturday night during prime time. Walt, our waiter was on point, and took very good care of us. Bonefish is one of the few restaurant chains that I find consistent. Although the bang bang shrimp specials on Wednesdays and the happy hour appetizers were discontinued the regular menu has not gone up in price. We've never gone to any Bonefish where the service food or drinks weren't up to par. There were dinner specials, three-course dinner for two, daily special and the regular menu. I had a side salad with a bang bang shrimp appetizer. My portion and meal was delicious. Friends at our table enjoyed trout, pork chops, shrimp, tacos, brownies... We were all impressed at how reasonable dinner was, each couple paid between $60-$70 for dinner with appetizers, dessert and cocktails. Bonefish Grill was founded in Florida, in 2000. There are now franchises around the country with the most, 49 being in Florida. There used to be many in the Metropolitan New York City area, around upscale malls. Now there's only one left outside the big Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island. The calorie count is listed next to every drink and food option. I know the bang bang shrimps are high in calories, so I can balance them with a low-calorie salad rather than fried high calorie Brussel sprouts. read more

Our first time at Bonefish. A friend gave me a gift card for my birthday so my husband and I gave it a try during happy hour. The ambiance was lovely. Upscale and comfortable. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was friendly and attentive and well versed on the menu items. Since it was our first time and happy hour, we went with the happy hour (social) menu so we could try a variety of dishes. The sampler appetizer was amazing. Each item cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and the presentation was great. In addition, we ordered the calamari and muscles josefine. I want to go back just for the muscles. They were delicious!!!! While I'm glad we decided to share multiple appetizer items for our first experience, next time I'm going all in with the regular menu. Our server was friendly and quick to refill empty water glasses, so yay us. We started with some cocktails and appetizers. - My Coconut Crush tasted like Ft. Lauderdale beach smelled in the 90's. My lovely date had the Wildflower Martini, and she was surprised and delighted with the sidecar of champagne served alongside. - Corn and lump crab chowder was creamy and delicious. - The Poke Bowl was full of fish and served with crispy chips that made the perfect accompaniment. - The Triple Threat (crispy charred brussell sprouts, bang bang shrimp, and tuna sashimi, each served with their own sauce) had us almost full before dinner ever made it to the table! My rainbow trout was perfectly cooked and though I was ready to burst, we still managed to find room for the Key Lime Cake. My husband and I have always loved bonefish Grill and I've been going there for years in Miami. I think I knew the name of most of the waiters and MANAGERS because we went there at least once a week. When we moved to Palm Beach Garden's I encountered the most rudest partner I had ever met and we swore off going to Bonefish for over a year. Recently I was told he was no longer there so I'm happy to say we have been back we love the food and generally the service is great. Employees can make or break a business. I came a month ago and after no one greeted me within 10 minutes I left. Today I came in to try it again and I had to leave because no server came to the table within 12 MINUTES. I'm in the business this would never be acceptable anywhere I've worked. I will never be back again. The servers were all standing at the host stand talking doing nothing. Just a quick update from my previous review written three years ago. Stopped in for lunch and sat in the bar area which is my favorite section of the restaurant. The food was outstanding but the service was pretty rough. I didn't allow it to ruin my lunch but it was the first time I ever received poor service at any of their locations. I ordered the Crispy Fried Shrimp entrée which is a new menu item. The platter consists of eight jumbo shrimp along with fries; I substituted a side Caesar Salad and it was definitely worth the small upcharge. The price was only about 16 or 17 dollars which is quite reasonable. The Caesar Salad was lightly dressed and delicious. I usually like a little extra dressing but this salad was perfect just the way it was. So good! I normally don't order Fried Shrimp but it was a new menu item so I figured why not. The eight jumbo shrimp were simply amazing; crunchy and cooked perfectly. The zesty cocktail sauce had some kick and it was good but I need to stay away from spicy foods so I used the tartar sauce which was also good. The platter came with both sauces which was nice because I was able to try both. It's been a long time since I had fried shrimp but hands down these were the best I have ever had. I want to mention I was drinking lemonade and that too was delicious. Not sure if they make it themselves but it was cold and refreshing and not overly sweet which I definitely appreciated. I mentioned earlier the service was not good & that was disappointing. I decided to leave my review at four stars because it was the first time this has happened. Chargrilled oysters were grilled until it was a cheese crisp and minimal taste of oyster. The butterfish with soy and ginger sauce was delicious. Paired well with jasmine rice and sautéed spinach. Prices were as expected, not inexpensive but not too expensive. Service was outstanding. read more

Came here to celebrate a friend's graduation from CDL school. Wanted to go for happy hour and get a few drinks and food. We wanted to try somewhere new so we thought we would give bonefish a try as they seemed to have a decent happy hour with a good mixture of apps and drinks. Things started out alright, as we got a the first round of drinks, however as the meal progressed things got progressively worse. We got the calamari app which came out relatively chewy, and the peices of calamari extremely small. I don't think I have ever seen such small bits of calamar, almost more breading then calimari. We also got the nachos to share as well and they were nothing special. The nachos were a bit on the spicy side which I enjoyed but others at the table really did not like. The bread for the table also came out around this time and that I will say was great. Probably the best part of the night. Things quickly went down hill as we all hung out and ordered a few more rounds of drinks. The server came back with our third round of the night and told us this is our last round and we can't order any more alcohol for the table. Being a yelp elite I have been to many restaurants from local owned to chains and franchises and I have never been told they had a three drink limit, especially when they have a happy hour. At this point we had already put our main dish in so we were okay with just getting the food and going but we still wanted to speak with a manager as the waiter seemed to get an attitude with us when we mentioned how weird that rule was. After asking another waiter to speak with a manager twice, he finally came over and explained its actually a corporate policy that it is 4 drinks and gave us one more round. He was nice enough to comp the meal, which is why I am giving this 2 stars and not 1 but overall we left very unsatisfied with the overall experience and the service we got. I will not be going back to a bonefish grill in the future and would definitely not recommend others to this establishment either. read more

Tonight 11/8/2024 I ordered the Apple Pecan Salad. The description on the menu reads: wood-grilled chicken, sweet and tangy vinaigrette, goat cheese, bacon, candied pecans, diced apple, topped with cinnamon wontons. This was the most "challenging" salad I've ever had! First, I couldn't find ONE pecan. Second, the bacon, apples, pecans were SO tiny that if I WAS able to get any on my fork, they just fell through the tines of the fork. Maybe eating my salad with a spoon would have gathered all the miniscule ingredients. So disappointing. read more

The service was good. When we got here after making a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes. I totally understand, it is mother's day. The restaurant was very warm and they had no bang bang shrimp. That is a signature dish for here. Not understanding how they could run out. Needless to say not a very good end to mother's day, we will pick better for next year. read more
