I initially came to this restaurant because I went on Google to find restaurants nearby that serves seafood oysters, in particular. Upon arrival I found out they did not have the raw oysters that I was looking for, and I was going to leave, but I thought why not try it out. The food in this place is not necessarily the type of seafood restaurant I was looking for it's more of an Italian restaurant I'm not too sure they have a bunch of random things on the menu. The food wasn't seasoned at all. It just wasn't good. I wouldn't come back here. I don't know if they don't season because of the type of customers they have, but if you like flavorful food, don't come here. I also thought it was weird and really cheap for them to only have the little prepackaged butter, especially for the price point of this restaurant. You should at least have normal butter. It's not like it's takeout. I feel like this restaurant accommodates their clients because they're so old. There's no reason to be serving a baked potato with NO seasoning!!! 0/10!!

HIDDEN GEM I thought this place closed down when the original building disappeared to find it in the plaza! Fresh seafood! Apps of oysters and calamari cooked to perfection, snapper bruschetta to die for, perfect sautéed scallops, scrumptious miso salmon, calamari marinara to swoon over. "Chefs Kiss" found my new fresh seafood spot ! A Must try if you've never been! Fair market prices too not overpriced like the spots on the water and downtown Boca.

Local review!!! Love this place, best soft shell crab. Service was great, felt like I was in the pirates of the Caribbean. They have a $29.99 PRIME 12oz Delmonico! Holy holy!! I think their lobster fradivalo is the best in Florida. I posted about it on instagram @mikeiseating https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB6gAd_vbc6/?igsh=d3NiMWlhYWM3OXBj

The menu had a lot of interesting options, but those two ended up being the highlights for our table. The deviled eggs had a subtle smoky flavor that worked really well without being overpowering. I also liked the cauliflower more than expected since it stayed crispy instead of getting soggy in the sauce. Service felt steady throughout the night even when more tables started filling in around us. Our server checked on timing, kept drinks refilled, and gave us space to enjoy the meal without rushing anything. The whole place had a relaxed neighborhood feel that made dinner easygoing.

Upscale vibe with dim lighting. - plenty of parking A few I didn't.. - The fish dip was just ok - the fried part of the southern fried chicken while juicy on the inside, lacked flavor - the up charge for almond vanilla milk in the espresso martini without being told up front of the added cost -the steak tartare happy hour portion is 1 bite-sized piece. Just offer the normal sized portion for a reduced happy hour price as opposed to 1/4th the portion for 1/3rd the price. Overall I would say every experience is good but not great. The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. The food was delicious - 3 of us had the fish and chips and we all loved it. Done perfectly - and the fish was fresh and moist. The reason for a 4 and not a 5 is two fold. The prices are a bit high. But I guess the location can get the higher prices. The other was where we were seated. We were outside but near a metal ramp. The work staff repeatedly came by with metal carts and made no attempt to go up the ramp slowly or quietly. The clanging was loud enough to stop our conversation every time. The setting, like all South FL Intracoastal restaurants, is lovely. It's very nice. You can sip a drink and watch boats go by. It's just a bummer that many of these picturesque places seem to skate by on their location. Prime Catch is SO expensive. I looked over the whole menu. I mean, we all know lobster rolls are pricy, but $46 is a bit much, and the $65 NY Strip is the same price as Ruth's Chris Strip, and I know Ruth's steak is better. Baby zucchini fries were ok, but the batter was overcooked. I did like the aioli topping. The calamari alla vodka was an interesting idea, but the rings weren't hot or crispy enough. The tentacles were good, and I asked for extra when I placed the order, but the bartender said it's pre-portioned and you can't do that. Disappointing. The bartender was competent and nice, and the drinks were decent. It's pretty and it's fine. Just bring a fat wallet and don't expect gourmet food.

Better Than Ever -- and I Didn't Think That Was Possible…read more I'll be honest -- when I heard J&J Seafood Bar and Grill on Atlantic Avenue had changed hands, my heart sank a little. I was a devoted fan under the previous owners and couldn't imagine it getting better. I was so, so wrong. The new owners haven't just maintained what made this place special -- they've elevated it into something truly remarkable. The moment you walk in, you feel it. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and alive in a way that makes you want to linger. They've created a space that feels like a genuine gathering place, and that's a rare thing to find. Now, the food. I ordered the mixed seafood grill, and it was simply spectacular -- fresh, beautifully prepared, and cooked with real care. Each bite reminded me why seafood on the coast should taste like this. And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, the turtle cheesecake arrived for dessert. Absolutely divine. Rich, indulgent, and the perfect finish to an already perfect meal. And then there's Chelsea. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely delightful -- the kind of person who makes you feel like a regular from the moment you sit down. She perfectly embodies the spirit the new owners have created here. To my fellow South Florida neighbors -- whether you're in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, or Deerfield Beach -- do yourself a favor and get in here now while the off-season means you can actually snag a table. This gem on Atlantic Avenue is the real deal, and once word fully gets out, you're going to wish you hadn't waited. J&J, you've made a lifelong regular out of me all over again.

The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I noticed a bunch of regulars dining at the bar, which looked perfect to me. The bar is walk-in only... so next time I don't have dinner plans, I'll remember I can just walk in and try for a seat. I'm sure I'll see two familiar faces... the owners, Anthony and Christine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
