We had a good experience here even though we didn't have a full dinner. Prices for seafood are not inexpensive at the moment, and the regular menu reflects that. We'd remembered coming to this restaurant before, but it was in a different, larger and free-standing location. This restaurant is small and in the middle of a strip of stores. There's still ample parking right outside. Inside, the restaurant is cozy with tables and booths quite close to each other. We were there later than their early bird menu allowed, but we did look it over just for future reference. Prices for entrees are the same as on the regular menu, but in addition you also get your choice of soup or salad as well as coffee and dessert. When we arrived, there were several couples enjoying the last of this discounted option. I'd been craving lobster. There was a fra diabolo lobster special on the black board, but I didn't want pasta nor spicy. Asking about the various regular lobster choices, the server told us about the basics on up to a (huge) 5-pounder -- that she suggested we could share. I wasn't hungry enough to warrant the starting price of almost $40 so I passed on getting lobster. They brought out a small loaf of warm bread, complimentary. And took our drink orders right away. Instead of a full meal, we each started with a cup of their soup. I had their clam chowder which was thick and creamy. My husband had their tomato-based fish chowder. I tasted his soup. And his was better. He wasn't hungry after the soup, so he just had a gorgonzola salad. He said the salad -- he added blue cheese dressing (!) --was very good. I tried their soft shell crab appetizer. It was two small crabs sauteed in garlic butter. Even though it was a small portion, it was quite tasty. I was happy that they offered an option other than fried, as well. Service was excellent throughout -- friendly and personable -- even though it was quite busy on a Friday night. My husband enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc with his food; I just got a soda which they refilled. And they were nice enough to let us taste their coconut cake dessert (one of the early bird options). We'd certainly come back again in the future. And I'll be keeping my eye open for when they offer their lobster specials, again.

I initially came to this restaurant because I went on Google to find restaurants nearby that serves seafood oysters, in particular. Upon arrival I found out they did not have the raw oysters that I was looking for, and I was going to leave, but I thought why not try it out. The food in this place is not necessarily the type of seafood restaurant I was looking for it's more of an Italian restaurant I'm not too sure they have a bunch of random things on the menu. The food wasn't seasoned at all. It just wasn't good. I wouldn't come back here. I don't know if they don't season because of the type of customers they have, but if you like flavorful food, don't come here. I also thought it was weird and really cheap for them to only have the little prepackaged butter, especially for the price point of this restaurant. You should at least have normal butter. It's not like it's takeout. I feel like this restaurant accommodates their clients because they're so old. There's no reason to be serving a baked potato with NO seasoning!!! 0/10!!

HIDDEN GEM I thought this place closed down when the original building disappeared to find it in the plaza! Fresh seafood! Apps of oysters and calamari cooked to perfection, snapper bruschetta to die for, perfect sautéed scallops, scrumptious miso salmon, calamari marinara to swoon over. "Chefs Kiss" found my new fresh seafood spot ! A Must try if you've never been! Fair market prices too not overpriced like the spots on the water and downtown Boca.

Local review!!! Love this place, best soft shell crab. Service was great, felt like I was in the pirates of the Caribbean. They have a $29.99 PRIME 12oz Delmonico! Holy holy!! I think their lobster fradivalo is the best in Florida. I posted about it on instagram @mikeiseating https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB6gAd_vbc6/?igsh=d3NiMWlhYWM3OXBj

The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. Their was a lively group of people at the bar, we got the last couple spots that were open. The very friendly bartender, who smiling might of been his favorite thing, was quick with the menus. We had just come from dinner so we focused on the drink menu. My gal got a nice red. They served it in a wonderfully different wide orb of a glass. The cocktail menu felt purposefully sparse. Third down just said it was their margarita. I made the call, and it was a good call. their margarita was on point, solid. It's a smaller place. It actually is 2 small places connected, with a larger dinning room next door. I did spot a piano in the back. I think we will plan a dinner sometime back when there might be some tunes.

We got there early for our reservation, but it was a busy night and the inside table I had already requested and reserved was given away so we had to sit outside. We asked about seating in the bar but we were told it was booked by a private party. (No one for this party showed up from 7:30-9:30 and the bar was as empty when we left as when we arrived.) They did have portable heaters outside so it wasn't too cold, but again, not what I requested or reserved. Our server was friendly and greeted us immediately, explaining the nightly special. We started with the Hamachi appetizer, a fun mix of yellowtail with passionfruit and gochujang. Everything about it was delicious but the yellowtail tasted much fishier than we've had elsewhere. Then the waiting game started. After waiting nearly 40 minutes our server brought the appetizer again so we had to assume he'd put a hold on our order and forgotten it. I went in to ask a few minutes later and our food was just now being staged. I don't mine if things happen, it's life, but tell us up front, say "whoops" and we will move on... Our dinner finally came out and it was really good! - The lovely Spensyr had the Table Wedge Salad, an interesting mix of Bibb lettuce, pork belly, and Tahini ranch, with a sun dried tomato compote. - I had the hangar steak with crispy fried potato and sautéed veg. It was delicious. Because of the earlier wait and mix up, we were offered complimentary desserts. Spensyr got their Key Lime pie and loved it, I got their white chocolate passionfruit cake dome thing and we each thought ours was better. * All in all it was a mixed bag. Apart from the overly fishy appetizer, all our food was delicious. The service was great, except for when they forgot us. The restaurant was comfortable and pleasant other than being kept outside in the cold with an entire empty bar.

The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I know the ownership has changed since I first came here, but I was so happy to hear the cook is still the same! It really brought back memories. We had a fun night overall -- although I may have slightly annoyed the bartender by asking her to take photos of us (they didn't come out too well under the lighting). Before we left, another server kindly helped us take a few away from the lights, and those turned out much better. All in all, I'm really glad I came back to give J and J's another whirl.
