I initially came to this restaurant because I went on Google to find restaurants nearby that serves seafood oysters, in particular. Upon arrival I found out they did not have the raw oysters that I was looking for, and I was going to leave, but I thought why not try it out. The food in this place is not necessarily the type of seafood restaurant I was looking for it's more of an Italian restaurant I'm not too sure they have a bunch of random things on the menu. The food wasn't seasoned at all. It just wasn't good. I wouldn't come back here. I don't know if they don't season because of the type of customers they have, but if you like flavorful food, don't come here. I also thought it was weird and really cheap for them to only have the little prepackaged butter, especially for the price point of this restaurant. You should at least have normal butter. It's not like it's takeout. I feel like this restaurant accommodates their clients because they're so old. There's no reason to be serving a baked potato with NO seasoning!!! 0/10!!

HIDDEN GEM I thought this place closed down when the original building disappeared to find it in the plaza! Fresh seafood! Apps of oysters and calamari cooked to perfection, snapper bruschetta to die for, perfect sautéed scallops, scrumptious miso salmon, calamari marinara to swoon over. "Chefs Kiss" found my new fresh seafood spot ! A Must try if you've never been! Fair market prices too not overpriced like the spots on the water and downtown Boca.

Local review!!! Love this place, best soft shell crab. Service was great, felt like I was in the pirates of the Caribbean. They have a $29.99 PRIME 12oz Delmonico! Holy holy!! I think their lobster fradivalo is the best in Florida. I posted about it on instagram @mikeiseating https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB6gAd_vbc6/?igsh=d3NiMWlhYWM3OXBj

I took my family for lobster, and I couldn't have picked a better restaurant! The staff was so sweet and attentive to everything we needed. I absolutely loved the cute atmosphere and found it to be a true mom-and-pop restaurant, which is hard to come by. I also want to mention that the lobsters were cracked to make it easier, and they were delicious! We loved everything about this hidden gem!

We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to look over the menu before ordering. We started with the Steak Tartare, served with beer-battered smoked onion petals, truffle, egg yolk, and manchego. It was excellent and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the Za'atar Roasted Local Vegetables with spicy greens, feta tzatziki, lime pickles, and pepitas. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite dish. For our entrées, one person ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with pork and beef ragu, housemade raw milk ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Jerk Local Swordfish from Fort Lauderdale with braised Swiss chard, local radish escovitch, and jackfruit miso beurre blanc. While the swordfish itself was cooked well, I wasn't a fan of the jerk seasoning. The flounder, however, was outstanding and probably my favorite entrée. To drink, I had the Les Fumées Blanches Orange Sauvignon Blanc, which I really enjoyed. Someone else had an Old Fashioned. For dessert, we shared the Affogato with mascarpone ice cream, dark chocolate, and espresso, and it was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. It is on the pricey side, but that's fairly typical for a farm-to-table restaurant using quality ingredients. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot. Overall, it's a fun place for a date night or a nice dinner with family. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Or if you want, they have a great bar and you can hang out there and have a bite.

The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I noticed a bunch of regulars dining at the bar, which looked perfect to me. The bar is walk-in only... so next time I don't have dinner plans, I'll remember I can just walk in and try for a seat. I recently came back with a friend for oysters, clams, and drinks, and we sat at the bar for the evening. The oysters, clams, and mussels were absolutely delicious. I know the ownership has changed since I first came here, but I was so happy to hear the cook is still the same! It really brought back memories. We had a fun night overall -- although I may have slightly annoyed the bartender by asking her to take photos of us (they didn't come out too well under the lighting). Before we left, another server kindly helped us take a few away from the lights, and those turned out much better. All in all, I'm really glad I came back to give J and J's another whirl.
