It is with great sorrow I declare that I am over BFG! Anyone who knows me laughs at my admiration of this chain. My travel strategy is find a BFG book Hilton or Marriott nearby and enjoy my Travel. I have dined at over 50 BFG locations. Just ever growing dissatisfaction with quality of food. This was first visit to Montgomery but there were issues with food quality and service. Bonefish in Montgomery, AL has steadily gone down hill. My husband and I ate there for the last time last night. The restaurant is open until 11pm on weekends. We headed there after attending the Iron Bowl in Auburn, AL. We arrived at 9:30pm. We ordered. Our food.....from the Ahi sashimi tuna, edamame, hamburger to the brownie were very poor quality. Some food was overcooked and some tasted as if it been sitting in the kitchen all night. If a restaurant stays open until 11pm then the food quality should measure up until 11pm. I've eaten at a Bonefish Grill multiple times prior, but it was my first experience dining at the Montgomery location. I ordered a sweet tea for my drink and it had an odd taste. I let a friend try it and was told I was tasting coffee, which I don't drink. It was diluted by all the sugar, but disgusting, so I switched to a soda. I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium with asparagus and mashed potatoes along with a Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. The meal arrived before the appetizer, so they did not charge me for it. The appetizer has more sauce than anything. The steak was overcooked and the asparagus was rubbery and quite gross. My friends were finished with their meals while I waited for a new steak, which took too long to the point I was ready to leave. I did get it, and it was better, but it didn't make up for the slow service and other dismal aspects. read more

The food would have been delicious if it got here on time and was not cold. The service was absolutely terrible. It took an hour to get one appetizer. When the food arrived an hour and a half later It was cold. Water seemed to always be scarce. Overall if I did not have good company around me, I would have left. read more

Had a business dinner at this location recently. The food was ok but seemed a little pricey for the quality and quantity received. The rice was a little undercooked for my taste. The service was friendly. I had grilled sea bass and it was ok. Greens were a little bland and they did not have pepper sauce which would have hit the spot. Our experience was truly amazing. Our niece graduated from Tuskegee University today and wanted to go somewhere nice. We came to the establishment. True enough we had a little wait time but it was well worth it. The food, the drinks, the employees were truly wonderful. There was a rowdy table that was quickly removed from the restaurant. No one should talk to a hostess like that at all. The manager Laashleigh stepped in and took care of everything with decency and class. Upon removing the individual she apologized for the incident and offered us a discount. We refused the discount but thanked her for her kindness and hospitality. We most definitely will be back in again. This young lady needs a raise ASAP read more

Our arrival at The Bonefish Grill was before 6:30 on a Friday evening. There were very few patrons there and two, or perhaps about four, people at the bar. We were immediately seated and the within mere seconds the waiter approached our table to take our drink order. We asked for a moment or two to look at their drink menu and their drink specials. He kindly brought us iced water and our bread. At that point we were ready to order our cocktails. The cocktails that we ordered were the ones printed out on their menu. Five minutes passed. No cocktails. Ten minutes passed. No cocktails. We asked our waiter. He said he would bring them when they were ready. Fifteen minutes passed. We asked the manager. He said they would be there when the bartender had them ready. Eighteen minutes passed. My husband said he would give them two minutes and we were walking out. Twenty minutes passed. Our cocktails arrived. They were good. I would have loved to relax, enjoy a cocktail, and wait for our food to arrive. Our meal was served about a minute after our cocktails. I had ordered the Baja Fish Tacos with the Mango Salsa on the side. When our waiter brought out the tacos, he proudly showed me that the chimmichurri sauce was on the side. Here is the issue. That sauce was not part of the entree description and they then put the mango salsa on the fish. Plus, the dish had been cooked without any salt and was basically tasteless. We were there because we were using a $100 gift card. Our meal came to far less than $100, even with the generous tip. The waiter kept our card. Even after the tip had been applied. We waited and waited and then he had to be asked to bring us the card back. We will not return. Ever. This is not the first inadequate service and meal we have experienced there. Awesome experience . Went to dinner on Valentines with my wife . Had no reservation came in at 5:15 and was sitted immediately . The food was spectacular . Our serve Mitzi was our server and she was great . Kim the manager was so nice and came by numerous of times .. Will be back soon read more

1 star due to I don't have any respect for thieves.. I visit Montgomery at the very least 1 week a month and have eaten here a few times. The last time it was just me and I was ignored by the waitress.. Not a huge deal I kinda like to be left alone after getting my food. I paid over $40 for a medium filet and lobster tail. It comes with potato and 1 side. I asked for a side salad instead of the potato. I was charged an extra $3ish without any notice.. The steak finally comes out and it's extra well done. Lobster tail was the smallest I have seen.. Also over cooked. I let the waitress know and left it at that.. After finishing my over cooked food. I paid my bill and even left a little tip for a horrible experience. But still left something... Little do they know I'm on company time and expenses. I keep and have to turn in all my receipts. I went to turn everything in and they decided they deserve more and charge my card for more than I approved. I have the receipts. We'll see what my company wants to do about this. If it's up to me I will file charges. You're not entitled to take from others. read more

You know, people love to rag on chains, but this restaurant is evidence that not all chains are created equal. I wind up here every time I visit Montgomery, and it has been fantastic every time. Went for dinner. Out of town for biz. Wanted to dine at bar. Waited a little for bartender which was unfriendly or I perceived. Ordered drink which was terrible. While looking at menu I observed the bartender and knew that it would be a poor experience. Bartender attitude was the reason I would not dine there. Nice fish restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. I recommend the Bang Bang Shrimp. You get a heaping bowl of sweet and spicy shrimp over lettuce. At $8 a pop, it's high quality at a low price. I tried the Tuna Sashimi and was disappointed with the small portion size. It was also drowning in sesame seeds which took away from the texture and flavor of the fish. For the entree', I ordered the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. The steak was flavorful and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. You're supposed to get bread with your meal, so remind your server like we did. read more

A disaster from start to finish. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge our presence and 10 more minutes to get a drink, even after we'd politely asked the hostess about it and the oblivious manager had walked by us three times. They forgot the starter we ordered. They also ran out of bread so we didn't get any, and didn't get us silverware until after I'd received my (very small) salad. By the time we'd waited another 20 minutes for our entrees to come out, we were starving. The steak half of my entree was ordered rare, but came overcooked and cold; the lobster was also overcooked. There was apparently no toilet paper in the ladies' room, so my pregnant wife had to ask the hostess for it. As an apology, the manager told us they'd comp a dessert, but didn't. I would've argued, but I was just ready to leave. This was actually my third visit to this location, and the service, which was not good to begin with, has gotten worse each time. We had a party of 10 last night at Bonefish. The service was amazing. We had two waitresses serving our table the entire time. We ordered lots of drinks, several appetizers and of course our main courses. Everything was delicious and brought out to us quickly by their very friendly staff. I have been to several Bonefish Grills in Florida and this was my first time at one outside FL. As another reviewer commented, you can give chains a hard time all you want, but the fact is that sometimes they do it right, and Bonefish is a great example. Doesn't matter which one you go to, they are consistent. My only complaint was that after we were seated (and we were right by the hostess stand, not stuck in a corner and easy to miss) we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come get our drink order, tell us it would be a minute, something! I finally lost patience and got up to tell the hostess, who went to the manager immediately on our behalf. After a few minutes he came over and then it was a few minutes later that our actual server showed up. He was nice as could be, and reminded us of LaJon from Sevendust. From that point on he was attentive and was right there when we needed him. Then as the meal came to a close and we were waiting for the check, here he came with a free dessert (the brownie with raspberry sauce, ice cream and whipped cream-love it) and apologized again for our long wait after we were seated. Yes, they made things right. I love Bonefish Grill and wish they would build one in Columbus, GA so I could go more often. Oh, and the Bang Bang shrimp *is* a must!! All things considered, because of the lag in service we were there about 20 minutes longer than we should have been. This was annoying since we were on a tight schedule and on our way to a show. Stopped to have dinner, while driving from Atlanta to Greenville-AL. Wasted our money as the food was horrendous ......calamari (was oily and tasteless without the sauce), the Chilean Sea Bas was served half done (raw-frozen inside), fish taco was bland and the grilled Telapia (children's menu) was tasteless. We could NOT eat anything, except the bread. We dine regularly at Bone Fish Grill (Atlanta) ......was shocked with the quality of food at this joint. Not returning. Bang bang chicken was chicken drenched in mayo. No thank you. So gross. Pad Thai was too sweet and salty.

Not horrible, not great, just ok. The calamari appetizer was good, but I've definitely had better at most other restaurants. The grilled snapper entree was dry (extremely dried out and tough on the outside), and my wife's filet mignon was just ok. The crab cakes were decent, as were the sides. Overall, the food and quality were acceptable but not anything to rave about. We arrived for an early dinner this past Friday at 5 p.m., so there wasn't a crowd or wait, and the service was very good. Bonefish is a good "backup plan" restaurant but wouldn't be my first choice. read more

A rapidly growing chain in the south east, I have been to several and have found all to be first rate. Great bar area to either wait for a table or eat at the bar. Drinks are not cheap but they are large for the most part. Had the mussels for an app and they were first rate in a white wine sauce with a touch of tomato. Both dinners were great, one was trout, the other sword fish with spinach, bacon and blue cheese. Sounded heavy but it was great and the combination worked well if you like blue cheese. Small but effective wine list and all wines are available by the glass, a very nice touch. Some beef, chicken and pasta choices for non-swimmers but go for the seafood. read more

My husband and I used to dine here quite often, but the quality keeps diminishing every month. Just in the last few months we were served 2 well-done steaks (asked for medium), severely undercooked salmon. When asked specifically for WILD salmon, received Atlantic- frankenfish. They were not honest about the substitution and charged as for the "Wild Fish"!! There is too big of a difference between the two to NOT notice! The servers do not seem to care and happy to give you attitude. Also, if you are a Dine Rewards customer, they will NOT oblige you by entering your number and giving the earned discount! So keep your receipts. Overall, the food quality is steadily declining. More so on the weekends (maybe a different chef?) and service is by Far not what it was just last year! read more
