Excellent food and service. Taylor R was our waiter and he did a great job. The specials were fantastic and the regular menu items were just as wonderful. This is the best restaurant we've eaten at since we've been in North Carolina. We will absolutely be back again and again. One request....a bigger variety of beer. They have a great variety of wines but not so much beer. It would be nice to have at least one type of each style beer, i.e. IPA, Pale Ale, Stout, etc. read more

Always delicious every time I've been there. My favorite entree is the Bang Bang Taco. Super delicious, comes with greens or homemade chips, both good choices. All the fish entrees are great and I love the way you can personalize your entree with sauce, preparation, sides, etc. Good kid choices too. Excellent service and no wait around 7:45 on a Sat night although they looked busy. Bang Bang Shrimp is great and very large serving for an appetizer. Customer favorites are marked on the menu with a star. Tried Tilapia Imperial for the first time, it's stuffed with so many delicious things it's like a different dish with each bite. Husband doesn't like fish so got steak and he said it was very tender and flavorful. Something for everyone, highly recommend! read more

We went tonight with a group of friends and sat at a high top in the bar area. I ordered some sides for dinner, and later ordered food to go to take back to my husband. The green beans, broccoli and potatoes au gratin were delicious, and seasoned well. When I asked the server if the to go order could come with bread he said absolutely. When I got home, I was extremely disappointed to see that the bread wasn't in the bag. I have babies, so it's not easy to just drive back to grab something that was left out. Abysmal experience.....in the front door to a half empty restaurant. Hostess do you have a reservation??? Ahh no we don't. Oh it will be at least twenty minutes for a table. My wife had the bang bang shrimp tacos and they were very good and flavorful. I had the George's bay Scallops and shrimp. The Scallops were the best I ever had. Sweet tasting and soft soft that the cut like warm butter. The shrimp was very tasty as well. Keith R our server was what you want in a server. He was there when we needed him but not hovering. WE also met Michy Cruz one of the managers and she was a delight as well. She came by just to check that everything was OK and it was. to me this is a good place to go for seafood. The Chilean Sea Bass with Mango salsa is to die for! I get it nearly every time I eat at Bonefish - which unfortunately doesn't allow me to recommend any other dish. We did have the fried calamari appetizer which was good - with spicy sauce (YUM) a little too much batter for my taste but I'm super picky and not a fan of batter in general. read more

This was a disappointment. We had heard great reviews from other people but were sadly let down by the food and the service. We spoke to the table next to us who have been patrons of the restaurant every Wednesday for many many years. They were livid that their food had taken an hour to be brought out. They had collected their belongings and were just about to walkout when their food finally came. The service was mediocre but the food was even more disappointing. Not only was the $28 grouper a measly piece (not the 10oz they claimed it to be .... Closer to a 6 oz) but two of our three dishes were over salted. I had the scallops and 4 out of 5 pieces had sandy grit which indicated they were not cleaned properly. We were told the ticket times were roughly 40-45 minutes that night, which in reality was closer to an hour. The reason I'm not giving this a one star, is that the bang bang shrimp was the only saving grace of our whole experience, which were actually quite tasty. read more

First the good part, the appetizer and dessert was good - not great - but good enough. But unfortunately I ordered the "special" oscar turbot, and that was one of the most disgusting things I have ever been server. There was such a harsh, metallic taste to it that it took my breath away and I had to excuse myself to restroom to regroup. By the time I returned, everybody else was almost done. I decided to just push the plate away instead of making a big deal in front of the extended family we were there with. Have dined at several Bonefish Grill locations around the country, and the food has always been excellent. While that did not change in my recent visit to the Southern Pines restaurant, the overall experience there fell far short of my expectations. We were seated right next to the kitchen, in a half-booth with three short chairs. The doorway to the kitchen is wide open, with no screen whatsoever between the dining area and the kitchen. During dinner, we were constantly bombarded with food preparation instructions over a loud intercom system of some sort emanating from the kitchen. Additionally, several of the kitchen staff were constantly visible from our table, and while the food quality suggests that they are very good at their jobs, they were not dressed professionally, and one was so morbidly obese that one of my dining partners asked to change places so they would not have to see the view from the kitchen. Additionally, in what my experience suggests is uncharacteristic of the Bonefish Grill chain, our waitress was average at best, lacking in personality, and almost completely ignoring one of my dining partners, who had to ask for everything, including refills on coffee, while the waitress constantly visited the table to refill the drinks of my other dining partner and I. The food was great, but we won't be back to this Bonefish Grill location. read more

I do like this place for the atmosphere and seafood, but three times we've been in and they were out of something. I took my wife there for her birthday, and she ordered the cocktail with a floating flower. They brought the drink, but no flower. When we asked about the flower, then they told us they were out, which was the whole reason the my wife had ordered the drink in the first place. We wish they had said something to us ahead of time, so she could have changed her order, but no one seemed to care, and the manager never even came by the table during the whole meal. read more

I've had the grilled lobster here, it's good! And before they recently disclosed on their menu that bacon lurks within the contents of their wickedly delicious corn chowder, I mouwed that down like there was no tomorrow. Sadly, that is no longer in my repetoire since they revealed there is pork inside (mega sad face!). However, not all is lost. Every time I come here, I mean EVERY TIME, I get my two faves. Although not healthy, I love, l-o-v-e their Caesar salad (Warning: Dressing is, for lack of better phraseology garlic-eeeeee, definitely not first date material...hell you better be in a committed relationship for your partner-even friends-to withstand the ludicrous garlic force field that will surround you after consumption! Yum!) and their outrageously addictive Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos (cue drooling Homer Simpson: Uhuhuhuhuh!). Plus, if you land here on a Wednesday, Bang Bang Shrimp (sans delectable softshell taco casing) app is like $5 dollars!! What a deal and soooo scrumptious! It's a chain, but listen, staff are usually friendly and attentive and there are all sorts of dishes so you'll definitely find something you can chow down on. read more

The food here is really tasty. Definitely take advantage if the specials they have going on! Some of the fish dishes and mixed drinks that can be found on that list are phenomenal! Of course I recommend the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer! Lilly's chicken is yummy for those who prefer not to eat seafood.. Had one of the tacos and was impressed. Not overly impressed with our waitress (who doubled as the bartender.....it was slow as it was between lunch and dinner). She was very inattentive to our needs..we constantly had to ask for new drinks...asked for plates for apps and it took reminding her three times before we actually got them. Also, we were very polite and nice to her considering the poor service...she came off as very rude(interrupted my bf while he was ordering and was overall just very condescending). Thought about asking for another waitress since she seemed to care less about us (when it was DEAD inside) but didn't.. Food was great. Waitress was horrible. I never usually restaurant reviews, this may been the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We went into the restaurant around 8 o'clock and by 830 we had a drink, but no glasses of water and had not been asked what we wanted to order. We placed an order for three appetizers and three entrées one appetizer came by around 915 and the other two about 10 minutes later but no dinners after one hour and a half, no person to come and ask if you wanted more drinks and finally they delivered two of the entrées by about 930. Not mine and when I delivered in about 10 minutes later it was undercooked and inedible. We complained about four times but the manager was completely hapless, the waitress completely apologetic and it seem like the restaurant was in complete and utter disarray. They ended up giving us the food for free, but I never even got an entrée. All this whole time they continued to see people, who were not being waited on ! I asked the woman who was sitting at the reception table looking on and doing nothing to help the disarray why they were seating people who they couldn't serve and they couldn't even serve people that already seated. Several other tables also seem to be in open rebellion. They were more crazy things that the manager told us, like she was cooking the food, and that's why was so slow but I'll spare you all the rest of the details. It was worse that I'm describing actually. I would avoid this place I would rather eat earthworms out of the ground than go back to this place. I am not exaggerating, I am trying to warn you that this place is a scam and they rely on people coming in who aren't return customers and provide them with the worst service possible and can't even deliver a meal, knowing that there won't be any repercussions. So I'm pick posting is here hoping that the owner read this so they will know how bad this experience was. read more

The main courses were well prepared but we can not recommend the Singapore Calamari. It was supposed to be flash fried but was soggy, read greasy. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she immediately said that she would tell the Manager. As expected the Manager delivered our main courses and apologized for the calamari. He went into a lengthy explanation regarding the fact that the recipe had been changed a few months ago and he has received more negative comments than positive. Apparently corporate is calling the shots on this one, so void the calamari. Otherwise an overall good experience and we will got back. The calamari rating alone would have been two stars. read more

I have visited Bone Fish in 5 different cities. This is by far the best. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. The waters are very professional looking and acting. Woohoo! This is as good as it gets for an upscale chain restaurant. Staff members may come and go over time, but quality of service, food, and drink stay consistently high. I have never had a disappointing meal, the service has been consistently great, as well as the food and drinks. The bang-bang shrimp is awesome. They frequently have specials that are terrific. Food was okay but service was very slow. We arrived at 7:00pm and were seated quickly. I had made a reservation but it was not needed. The restaurant was not busy. We waited for 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table. We started with Caesar salads which were drenched in dressing and the crotons were soft. You could tell they had been made ahead of time and had sat around for awhile. After the salad course was taken away we waited for 20 minutes at least for our salmon entrees. The sockeye salmon was delicious and my dinner guest had the Atlantic salmon which was given a good review. Her garlic mashed potatoes were cold and did not look appetizing at all. My jasmine rice was particularly sticky and the seasonal vegetables of zucchini and summer squash was cold and quite bland. The overall experience was just okay. I have had much better meals at Bonefish and I hope this was just an off night for the restaurant. read more

I have been here 3 times now, dinner twice, and brunch once. I will be back!! Just happens that the woman who waited on us for brunch a while ago, served us again this last time we were in. She actually remembered us! All three times the food has been perfect! The waitress recommended the Bloody Mary's, Creme Brulee French Toast and the Surf and Turf Eggs Benedict when we were there for Brunch, all were absolutely wonderful!!! Since she did such a great job on recommendations last time, we asked for suggestions again. She suggested the Mussels as an appetizer....perfect choice, they were wonderful. For dinner we had Chilean Sea Bass with Mango Salsa and a Crab Crusted pompano.....both were excellent!!!! We will be back again, and a big Thank you to Christine who did such a great job with the suggestions and the perfect service. I hope you serve us again. read more

I suppose if you've never been to a GOOD seafood restaurant you might think the food here is good. Yea, not so much. We were told all the fish was fresh and hand cut daily. Yea, I doubt that. We opted for a bunch of appetizers for dinner. Got the edamame to eat while everything was prepared. That was our first mistake. They were freezer burnt and came with a green tea salt that stains your fingers. The wagyu potstickers tasted like they were also previously frozen as they were tasteless. The calamari while crispy was average with chopped jarred pepperoncini thrown on the top. The crab cakes weren't too crabby and someone forgot the binder to hold them together as they fell apart. Yes, there was one item that stood out. The coconut shrimp. They lived up to expectations. While it's a great concept the execution of the menu leaves something to be desired. Like a seafood shack on the side of the road along the Atlantic coast. Call me a seafood snob, but coming from New England we know what good seafood is. Bonefish, at best, is below average. I should have known that when I sawTilapi as a featured menu item. read more

Terrible! Never has this happened to me in any resturant before. Had fixed amount credit card which was not enough to pay bill so I gave manager (Waiter didn't bring bill) credit card and cash to make up difference. Left tip for waiter in amount of 20% in cash. Discovered in counting cash returned by manager that he had taken tip out of money I Gave him for bill (I did not add tip on bill as I intended to give directly to waiter- this was not a mistake with bill) There was no tip amount listed on the bill. It's now evident that money was taken out of my payment by the manager before he gave me my change without my knowledge or agreement when he gave me change thus tip now was doubled (don't know who got extra money -maybe not waiter as manager took it from my change ) and amounted to almost 40% . I will never set foot in this place again and will tell everybody I know about this. read more
