I'll start by saying I love Bonefish's bang bang shrimp. We stopped for these and grilled fish, first visit to this location. We arrived about 5, only 2 other booths of people in the restaurant with all tables open and only the 2 booths occupied. I was surprised that we were escorted to the very back of the restaurant and seated right at the bathroom door. I expected my husband to ask for a booth but this time he didn't. We order our drinks and the bang bang and felt pressured to order our meals, we didn't. The shrimp were great! The bread was way undercooked, it's normally crusty and warm, this was not. The lettuce in the Caesar salads was not fresh, the salads were underdressed and I don't like a salad dripping with dressing but these really didn't taste like Caesar salads. Bonefish normally has good salads. The soup was barely warm and the crab was just a few shreds, not the few lumps I'm used to seeing. The grilled fish was nicely cooked and had a fresh taste, vegetables were not that good. Service was ok, far from outstanding but tip worthy. The dining area was clean and looked great. Overall I would not recommend this location but I would still recommend other Bonefish locations. read more

Went to this restaurant on New Years Eve. Ordered the Rockefeller Special. The presentation was poor, the portion was small covering less than half the plate, the food was warm, and the taste was below average. The chef should've had more pride and not sent it out. When the bill came the special I ordered was more than it showed on the menu and both sides were extra each. I've eaten at Bonefish Grill in a few cities. Not my first pick, but when traveling with a group, some people prefer the familiar. Hands down, this is the worst Bonefish Grill meal I've eaten. My daughter and I ordered the special, butterfish, which we both really love. She ordered hers w mashed potatoes, mine Au gratin, both w. the seasonal vegetable (green beans). The fish was exclusively the portion overlaying the bloodline so it was especially fishy. One other person at our table ordered the fish and all 3 were very different portion sizes. My au gratin potato's were half cooked as were the green beans (one other person at our table also ordered them and agreed). Two people ordered steak, one medium well, the other medium, they both were reported to being done well. read more

We have been to this location many times. The food can actually be pretty darn good.....however, who knows what the formula is to get that outcome. What I do know, is that the service is almost always crappy. They have rude, FML hostesses. Waiters/waitresses that could care less about customer service or providing prompt service. Most every time we have been you can look around the restaurant and see that same "look" on the face of every employee. Went here for date night with my honey. It was a nice place with a classy decor. I kept hearing about the bang bang shrimp so we obviously got that and it was soooo good!!! I could have eaten 50 of them!! Crunchy, spicy and creamy, what more could you ask for. With my meal I got the ceasar salad, which was one of the best ceasars I have had in a long time. My boyfriend got the corn chowder, crab soup and it was tasty and a bit sweet. For our entrees I got the Imperial Longfin, which was a flaky white fish topped with a lemony, creamy sauce of crab and other seafood and capers. Very decadent!! My BF got the special which was seared ahi with a bacon, jalapeno sauce. It was great. Confused when they asked how he wanted it cooked though, shouldn't seared ahi be raw?? I thought so. We ended with a bread pudding something or other, and it was great as well. The server was extremely attentive and really informative. Added bonus: my glass of wine came in a carafe so, it was more like 1 1/2 glasses. I will be going back for sure. Food quality seems to have dropped. My fish tacos were served in cold tortillas. Portions were smaller. The key lime pie was hard and congealed, the graham cracker crust kind of stale. My 10 year old said it tasted like a salt lick (yes, an overstatement, but indicative of a disappointing desert). Probably won't return. read more

What can I say, this is a top notch place to be. A chain in a high end community and they operate like a 5 star establishment. I never see a manager going to tables at a restaurant and Jason came and delivered my bang bang shrimp himself. He came back 10 mins later just to make sure I liked it. Waited 20 minutes after sitting for a waitress to greet us and ask us what we wanted to drink. Ordered the salmon and a Wagyu burger. When my wife and I first moved to NC, we lived in Fayetteville. We never had Bonefish before but soon fell in love! It was always soooooooo good and a great time! 5 Star across the board... However, when we moved out to the Pines area, we were excited about them having a Bonefish...Unfortunately, that was short lived. Every few months we give them another shot and it is never the same. The food is pretty hit or miss. The drinks and wine selection is always great. The waitstaff is always very friendly and timely. IMHO, the Bonefish Grill in Southern Pines always delivers. Our server Hailey was outstanding and very helpful. She kept on eye on us but was never intrusive. The Italian Seafood Risotto was remarkable and I highly recommend it. The risotto was cooked perfectly and the shrimp & scallops were plentiful. The grilled trout with mango salsa was superb. Well. What to say...the portions are generous...at least the appetizer was. The cod and tilapia were overdone, the jasmine rice was cold and sticky, and the bone in ribeye left a lot to be desired. We had the mussels appetizer which was huge with big mussels and a really nice sauce. Not the best...far from the worst. Our server, Randall, was superb. From start to finish our experience was unpleasant and we didn't even dine in. I called in a to go order and was asked to hold so the gentleman could run out to his car and grab his mask- um could someone else take our order or could you possibly grab your mask after taking the order? Secondly, we ordered curbside pickup and I asked to pay over the phone to which his reply was that it's "easier" to do in person since he has to manually input our card info....sounds like a you problem buddy, sorry that inconveniences you since we are the paying customers- yeesh. After picking up our $55.00 order of 2 meals and getting home to unbox and eat, the disappointment continued. Our coleslaw was a handful of undressed cabbage and there was no horseradish included after I had called back to add to our order. The food was so so, not worth the cost in my opinion. Ordered the wild caught salmon and received the Atlantic salmon. I know the difference! This happened before at this restaurant but I had asked for no salt and they sent out the Atlantic substitute with salt and replaced it with wild caught without salt. It was just what I wanted no questions asked. This time the manager felt the need to defend his salmon and try to convince me it was wild caught. Been to so many bonefish locations across the country and was expecting the same great quality of food and service but I was very disappointed during this dinner with my family. Long story short: my server was an old coworker I used to work with at Outback Steakhouse across the street more than 10 years ago. He was great. My younger brother found a long black strand of hair under his fish entree after we waited forever after receiving our salads for our food. We notified our server about it.. 15 minutes later we asked for him, and he forgot about my brothers food.. All that waiting, he didn't care for it anymore. We just asked for a box for my dad's plate and the bill. He didn't charge us for the bad plate but the key manager on duty that night came up to my brother and apologized about the less than good experience and offered him a $25 bonefish gift certificate. In conclusion, based on my food service experience, there needed to be more servers with less tables. I am leaving a 1 because theres no zero. Our water was never refilled, and we asked twice. It took 40 minutes to deliver a beer in a can. If I wanted canned beer, which wasn't advertised as a can, I would go to walmart. The rice in my poke bowl was undercooked and took an hour to bring out. The couple across from us ordered take out from across the street it was so bad. I have been to other bonefish grills that were impeccable. Waiting an additional 30 minutes to bring the check back was also annoying. I understand being backed up, but I also know what just bad service is, this was awful. This is a review for the new Brunch menu that Bonefish just started. Wow. That was good! My wife and I came for the brunch and had a wonderful time. Here is a review of all the food and drinks we had. We started by splitting the Chocolate Croissant. It came out nice and warm and I don't think it could have been any fluffier! This was really delicious and so sweet that you better have a cup of water with you or you will be in a diabetic coma! Yum! Next my wife ordered the Skillet Omelet (aka frittata) that comes loaded with spinach, Gorgonzola and turkey sausage. It was really good and I would I highly recommend it... BUT then we tried the Oscar Omelet (Asparagus, Crab and Mozzarella). The Oscar is TOP NOTCH! The other things on the Brunch menu are probably delicious, but I will never find out as the next time I come to Bonefish for brunch, I will be ordering this again. DE-LIC-IOUS! As for the drinks, we tried Bloody Mary, Peach Bellini, Watermelon Martini and Passion-fruit Mimosa. The Bloody Mary was the best Bloody Mary that I have had in along time, it has a really good kick to it... however, that kick is also it's downfall. The kick is so strong, that it overpowers all the other food. If you order the Bloody Mary, you will need to take a sip of water after every drink or you will not be able to taste the subtle tastes of your entree. The Watermelon Martini was good. It was nice and refreshing, and because it is not over-whelming, it is a good choice. My only issue was that the watermelon cubes in were frozen like ice cubes, I would have preferred that they were chilled, not frozen, but really, I am just nit-picking now. The Peach Bellini was great! This was my favorite of the drinks. It was crisp, it was refreshing but it was never overwhelming. If you are going to order an entree with delicate taste (like the Oscar) then this is the perfect match! My wife had the Passion-fruit Mimosa and thought it was delicious too. This was her favorite of the 4 different drinks, for pretty much the same reason that I enjoyed the Peach Bellini. It was simple, crisp and refreshing. I am really glad that Bonefish is doing brunch... we will be back! read more
