Phenomenal amount of Monin flavors for any combination of latte, mocha or drink you want as well as delicious Big Train Chai and smoothies; locally owned coffee shop with drive thru. The blood orange coconut refresher or a chai I highly recommend.

Coffee this morning and it was a strong one after an evening where I didn't sleep much. Too many chicken wings and ribs, perhaps. Anyway, I got their large dark roast with a shot of espresso in it. My bones are shaking. Nice little spot with loads of seating, quiet music (Christian? I couldn't tell) and wifi. Coffee was excellent and I enjoyed my time here drinking it before heading to work. [Review 10640 overall, 408 of 2019.]

This local coffee stop is located right across the street from my office, so no excuse not to try them out. Glad I did. The interior is cozy. Very midwestern home in its vibe with a fireplace and lots of natural color. The menu has all the coffee shop staples, but their array of syrup (both regular and sugar-free) options was extensive. Not only that, but they also offer a ton of different types of tea. Service was quick and friendly, the coffee was smooth and tasty. I got a hot, flavored latte with skim milk and the foam was frothy and rich. Support some local business and skip Starbucks this time.

I love it when I find a terrific coffee place far from home but I hate also because I won't get to frequent it! This darling place was right by our hotel, lucky us! They had delicious hot vanilla lattes and refreshing caramel chocolate iced coffee. Plus I tried a chocolate chip cookie just to let you fellow Yelpers know how yummy it was. If you are reading this review, you are probably close by so stop reading and go get caffeinated already!

Though Boneshaker is quite large for a coffee shop with ample seating, it is really not a good place to study. Very difficult to find an outlet if you need to plug a laptop in. Most of the people in this place are visiting and chatting so it tends to get pretty loud as well. This might be ok if you're going to a socialize but isn't great for getting work done. The furniture and decor are cozy but somewhat dated. Furthermore, while I've never been overly impressed with their drinks, most recently I ordered a cold brew coffee, which was over iced and essentially tasted like coffee flavored water. Not to mention at nearly $5 it was overpriced in my opinion. Not sure that I'd be back.

Tell me, does this LOOK like extra caramel and whipped creme? supposedly a caramel big wheel... I'll stick to starbucks

We were greeted right away as there was no one else in the restaurant. Its an open floor plan with two rooms. Im guessing its quite lively in the evenings. We shared the chopped salad and the Daisy pizza. The salad was good, though not a traditional chopped salad--it used that trendy wild greens mix that so many restaurants are leaning on these days. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but the menu did specify it, so that one's on me for not paying closer attention. The pizza, however, was absolutely terrific. The crust was soft and chewy with just the right amount of char from the stone oven. The combination of the sauce, cheese, and fresh basil was spot on. They also drizzle a flavored oil over the top--we couldn't quite pinpoint what it was, but it added an extra layer of flavor that really elevated the pizza. We devoured the whole thing--three slices each! At around $20, the pizza might feel a bit pricey, but it's clear that everything is fresh and made from scratch, so it's well worth it. Service was attentive, though we were the only ones there at lunchtime. I imagine this place really comes alive in the evening. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu--and next time, I'm not sharing my pizza.

For a small restaurant, they also have an impressive wine selection. We started with the garlic bread, hot olives, and meatballs -- all of which were flavorful, balanced, and absolutely delicious. For entrées, our table had the breaded walleye, the Bolognese pasta, and the Porchetta. The walleye and Bolognese were outstanding, but unfortunately the Porchetta was a big letdown. The skin was chewy rather than crisp, with a thick layer of unrendered fat beneath it, and most concerning, it still had visible pig hair. I was expecting the classic combination of crackling skin, melting fat, and tender pork, but instead it was oddly undercooked on the outside, dry inside, and after biting into hair, I really lost my appetite for it. We finished with tiramisu and a torte, and both desserts were excellent -- a strong way to end the meal. Overall, Anima Cucina has a lot going for it: charming atmosphere, friendly staff, great starters, and standout entrées (other than the Porchetta). I'd happily return for the appetizers, pasta, fish, and desserts, but I'd avoid the Porchetta based on my experience.
