Stopped in here for a quick ice cream before heading back to the hotel. What a fun gem to find hidden behind hotel row. The vibe is super fun and reminds me a lot of Central Perk from Friends. Tables and couches arranged in cozy conversational corners. We ended up staying because we liked the ambience. We each had a gelato with a topping that came in around $15 including tip. I had salted caramel and my guest had the butter brickle. Both were very tasty and we would likely come back to try some other flavors or just enjoy the vibe with some coffee. Stopped in here a couple weeks ago while passing through Bismarck. It's inside of i.e. part of Boneshaker Coffee so there is plenty of indoor seating and tables. They offer something I've never seen at an ice cream store before - I wish I would have taken a picture of the menu so I could remember what they called it and exactly how much it was ($25?). It was seven scoops in one big disposable bowl. So rather than us all getting our own - we picked seven flavors and shared (and saved $). We had the pistachio, oreo, mint chip, salted caramel, chocolate, brown butter brickle, and blue raspberry sorbet. Only complaint - chocolate wasn't chocolately enough. We ate about half of the seven scoops - put a top on it and froze the remainder for another day. Would definitely go back. read more

This is such a cute little place! It's actually inside of Boneshaker Coffee, so it was a little tricky to find at first, but there is signage. The ice cream is so rich and creamy and delicious! Staff were very friendly and helpful and happy to provide samples of ice creams. The interior is warm and cozy and has lots of big comfy chairs and couches to sit and stay a while, catching up with friends. Forget about those chain ice cream shops. My wife and I were in town for the weekend and FOMO didn't happen to be serving anywhere, but since I had fomo for FOMO, they held some of the ice cream for me over at one of the local coffee shops. Awesome service. We picked it up today and tried it. We had the espresso, caramel, and mint chip. They were all exceptionally creamy. The flavors are subtle, authentic, and the ice cream is rich instead of beating you over the head with overly-sweet fake tasting flavor. The standout flavor was by far the mint chip and I am by no means a mint chip kind of guy. If you have ever had the blue mint from BYU creamery on Utah, you know what to expect here. BYU's was previously the best mint ice cream I had anywhere, but FOMO's is right up there. Unlike most mint ice creams, it doesn't taste like toothpaste. It has a very subtle mint flavor that doesn't overwhelm the experience of the ice cream. It's definitely the flavor to have. We also tried the gelato at Fireflour pizza and while that is great stuff too, FOMO wins. read more

I first discovered FOMO 10/40 Creamery about two years ago when I stopped at the Boneshaker Coffee Co. For my usual Americano. Being that it was exceptionally hot that day I decided to forego hot coffee for something more appropriate for 95°F weather. I decided on thier Pistachio Nut Ice cream in a Waffle cone and it was an experience I wasn't prepared for. The texture of their Ice cream was smoother and creamier than I had expected! The flavors of pistachio was very clear but not overpowered by sweeteners or sugars. Over the course of a couple of weeks I had tried a few other flavors of their Ice cream and found that they had the same qualities in flavors and textures, extremely creamy and had a lot of flavor without relying on an over abundance of sugar to compensate for lack of quality. I spoke with the Owners of FOMO 10/40, Andrew and Emily, and talked with them about how they make their Ice creams and what sets them apart from other brands. The first thing that I came to understand is that they make their Ice Cream in small batches on an "As Needed" basis. Nothing is mass produced for the sake of profits. Since the batches of Ice cream are made this way, it allows for a very high degree of quality control. Also, Andrew and Emily use whole milk and heavy cream in the process of making their ice creams which give that wonderfully rich texture that makes FOMO ice cream so enjoyable. Andrew and Emily have created a wonderful little business making, in my opinion, some of the best Ice creams I have ever tasted! I no longer purchase anything other than FOMO 10/40 Ice Cream as I'm pretty much a Fan-Boy now!
