Today, I had a 7:30a.m. appointment. At 8:10a.m., I was still sitting in the waiting room and had not even been checked in. This isn't an isolated incident. The Parker location routinely runs behind, which makes it difficult to donate when you are trying to fit an appointment into a workday. The staff members are pleasant and the Parker location is convenient, but donors are giving their time as well as their blood. If the center is going to actively ask people to donate and provide scheduled appointment times, it should staff the location appropriately or communicate delays clearly. If you have the flexibility to wait 45 minutes or longer, this location may still be convenient. Otherwise, I'd recommend scheduling at another location.

I chose the right arm, though either was available for use. She did not even look at the other arm if she thought it might work better for her. The phlebotomist was not capable. I should have known when she asked 3 separate colleagues if her "marks" on my arm were good. After turning my arm up/down/sideways etc...after my "poke" she asked the colleagues again what was wrong. I can understand a one time situation, but this has happened on multiple occasions. The lady with the curly blonde hair is deplorable and should not be working with the public. The hospital however, is excellent, especially the specialist. I know they really try hard to run a tight shift here, the pharmacy is severely lacking though. Why is there only one pharmacist assisting customers? Why are they always rude every time you ask them about your medications? Why do they literally not care and have zero empathy?

I recently had my very first donation experience at this location. I was nervous since I didn't…read moreknow what to expect. When you walk in, I checked in and sat for my screening where they checked my weight, took my pic, verified my identity and did a quick prick to test my blood. Afterwards, I did a questionnaire which took about 15 min. You also will meet with a medical specialist to do a quick physical to make sure you're in good healthy to proceed. The staff was very INFORMATIVE and polite. They made me feel at ease and comfortable during the entire process. The donation part itself took me about one hour from start to finish. I personally thought it was an uncomfortable process having the blood drained out of you. I had a few moments where I felt quesy but made it through. The facility itself was very cleans and busy. It was packed. My first appointment took 4 hours! So make sure you set aside time. I'm sure your second one will be better. But expect to wait since many people will be there. Trying to make two appointments in one week as they recommend is nearly impossible. Slots fill up fast so make sure you get on it.
