I chose the right arm, though either was available for use. She did not even look at the other arm if she thought it might work better for her. The phlebotomist was not capable. I should have known when she asked 3 separate colleagues if her "marks" on my arm were good. After turning my arm up/down/sideways etc...after my "poke" she asked the colleagues again what was wrong. I assume the staff has adequate training? Ultimately, my right arm is 3 shades of deep purple and my intended donation was not completed. I'm disappointed with Vitalant. read more

The mobile van and the phlebotomist were all great and I like to give blood to help others out. I am a huge proponent of blood donation and it's probably because my mom denied me doing the blood drive in high school and I needed her permission since I was under 18. Since then, I've been "rebelling" against her by donating blood at least 4x/yr. I also have this weird thing where I try to PR (personal record) my donation time. I'm at about 4:38 filling a pint Ok, enough about me... The facility is huge and bright. The employees always greets myself and others with a friendly smile and are very thorough in going over the health questions and checking your vitals before continuing to the donation area. During my last appointment, they asked if I was good with having a trainee. Sure, why not? Well, this trainee did so awesome that I didn't have a bruise the next day and you could barely see the needle mark. Because he was a trainee, the process took a bit longer, but I would prefer he gets everything right vs rushing through. I was still out of there within 30 mins so not terrible. They have snacks and drinks available as you wait after donating to ensure you're ok and not feeling faint. There's ALWAYS a need to donate, so please do!! read more

I donated on 3/13/2025 at a Vitalant blood drive. Started my 10 weeks course in May, finished training and was signed off last week. Realized the travel wasn't working with being a single mom. When I messaged my boss to let her know I would be leaving the company, all was well, we set up an exit interview for the friday of my last week. She called me the very next day to let me know I would not being finishing my week and they would not be pushing my certification through. After traveling an hour and a half twice a week, to stay in a hotel, to be away from my son .. they were now not going to certify me. I even offered to pay for the license. Waste of my time. As a frequent blood donor this center is a wonderful place to come to give blood. Although not everyone's favorite thing to do they make the process smooth, seamless and pleasant. You're always greeted with a smile, checked right in and treated like a VIP! The actual process of donating only takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on how fast your blood is flowing. Once you're done donating they have a nice area to sit, relax and stock up on Gatorade, cookies etc! All in all a wonderful experience to do such a positive thing for the community! read more

I go to this location frequently to donate platelets. I especially love it when Walter is working because he's caring, attentive, and has a great sense of humor. Cheryl greeted me and we chatted briefly while I waited for my tech. I was happy to see that Walter was working. I have been giving blood for several decades with Bonfils. Now that Vitalant has taken over customer service has continually gone downhill. I am a therapeutic donor and need to donate once a month. With Bonfils you could call a local number, talk to a real person and make an appointment. With Vitalant that has changed to a national call center. No one ever answers the phone. You are asked to leave your number and they will call you back within 72 business hours. That works out to be 9, eight-hour days. Only once has anyone from Vitalant called back. Bob P. read more

I love donating blood. There's really two reasons; one is that I am very likely saving a life every time I do so, and two, I feel like I did my share of a civic duty by offering up a vein to be tapped with a 16 gauge needle and bled like a stuck pig. For doing this, I feel no shame when people approach me looking for a handout, and I simply tell them, "I donate in a different way". Sorry Greenpeace. You'll get no quarters from me! Recommend saving time by filling out the health info form online the day before or morning of your appointment. Most health precautions are taken here though could be some additional sanitation and wiping down of surfaces and tables where people are asked to hydrate and snack after donating. read more

Impressive and immaculate facility with immediate service from intelligent staff! I've donated whole blood twice at this facility. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the location is immaculate, the technology is cutting edge (they have free wi-fi for donors, ipads for your question/survey) and the entire process takes me about 45 minutes. They are even open on Sundays by appointment only. I can schedule my appointment online way ahead of time, and they always have mixed nuts to soothe my anti-carb protein cravings. I have been donating my O negative blood through Bonfils/Vitalant for the past 30 years or so. Today's experience was the worst experience by far. First, after completing the intake, I had to wait about 40 minutes -- it wasn't until I asked the front desk person (after noticing that no one was in the process of donating blood) how long it would it would take, that someone came to complete the pre -donation vitals process. Once on the table, 3 technicians could not find a vein. At some point they decided to switch to the other arm - the same 3 technicians tried again to no avail. In the end I spent over an hour, with pokes in both arms and left without making a donation for the first time in nearly 30 years. Very Frustrating! read more

I have a high platelet count and I have the antibodies from having COVID. I try to go to this location once a month to donate platelets and they usually take my plasma. I have now tried for 2 weeks to make an appt. but cannot do so on the website; so I have now called 5 times on the phone. I talk to a real person , but all 5 times, they tell me they can not schedule for CO. I leave my phone number and they PROMISE someone will call me. Still waiting. What a shame. read more

We've all been there before: You want to donate blood, but you want to be 100% sure it doesn't go to vampires. Sure, I've met the odd friendly vampire, but that's not really the point. You go to Bonfils to make sure your precious plasma goes to other humans, not denizens of the dark. It's just an added perk that everybody here is professional without being stodgy, operating in facilities that can only be called top-notch. Organizations already exist to make sure my neighboring nosferatu doesn't die of malnutrition. I can always go to an opening-sequence-of-Blade-style blood rave or skulk surreptitiously around any number of dramatic gothic castles, but once my fanged friends have had their fill, it's nice to make sure good ol' mankind has enough blood, too. Unlike the added thrill of the unknown when dealing with the undead, it pays to plan ahead with Bonfils. Walk-ins are welcome, but set time-slots on their website will save you a lot of waiting. Be sure to indulge in their smorgasbord of post-drainage snacks, too. I'd suggest the cranberry juice, but frankly, it recommends itself. read more

Not much of a joiner, but still want to do a little good in the world? Donate! The whole process takes about an hour from arrival, questions with staff, prep, donation and scarfing down the Lorna Doones (when available...last time I opted for mixed nuts). The needle hurts for a split second and bam, in about 10 minutes, you are done with the donation. The staff member conducting the check in/questioning last time was nice, but sort of all over the place. The rest of the staff was loud, which was annoying, but definitely not the norm. In the end though, those things would still not hold me back from donating here. They have a very easy online scheduling program and you can also find out where the donor drives will be held. Trust me, it is not awful and just remember, one pint of your blood can save up to 3 lives. Pretty major contribution to society, if you ask me. read more

While I've donated blood for my entire adult life, donating platelets was something I started doing fairly recently (thanks to encouragement from my husband, an ex oncology director). Donating platelets takes longer than giving whole blood, usually 2.5 hours. During this time the Bonfils staff is helpful, attentive and friendly. They realize you could be doing other, more fun things with the time. So they set you up with a movie, tuck you in with soft blankets, offer you tea or hot chocolate and keep an eye on things while you kick back and relax. Clean, bright, efficient - the site on Yosemite is my donation site of choice; I've gone to several of their other locations and this is where I keep returning. Do your community and yourself a favor and give blood or platelets. Your body will make more and someone in the Denver area who desperately needs this "liquid life" will be so grateful. Bonfils takes walk ins or appointments. Clean facility, friendly staff. I'm usually in and out within 30-45 minutes and back on my way.

The staff here is extremely professional, quick and friendly. The overall facility is spotless. The waiting area and recovery area are relatively comfortable and there is a nice assortment of snacks available before and after your session.
