Absolutely disgusting. Food is so overpriced! My husband took our kids and I here and we couldn't even finish our food. Every other bite of meat was a bone or tendon. Bathrooms are nasty! Not good. Keep reading. I had high expectations for this place because this format of restaurant (Mongolian grill) seems to be in short supply in the area. The first thing I didn't like about this place was that when you show up you immediately pay. I like the (Ghengis Grill) method better with table side service and you pay after. Believe me, this way here at Bonfire has its advantages but its more of a fast casual place. Firstly, the cold bar (where you gather your preferred proteins etc) was a bit of a mess. They asked you to use a glove when handling the utensils which was thoughtful. But the whole thing was out of control. Sauces spilled everywhere, random ingredients spilled everywhere. I am not even sure that the meats had ice under them to keep them cold. I remember the place downtown called "Khans" or the one called Ghengis grill, in which I felt safer because they had the ingredients on ice and everything seemed ok. But this was a hodgepodge and a mess. The workers were working hard but they weren't working hard to clean up the mess. They gave you a tiny round tray but it wasn't big enough to carry your bowl and sauce ramekin, and drink I was having to carry my empty drink cup in one hand as I made my way down the line with the small round tray adding my ingredients. After all of that juggling, I found a table. It was hard to find one that was clean. Another major complaint was the drink selection. The tea tasted like it had bleach in it. I just ended up getting water. A $3 glass of tap water :( The workers did bring the food to the table. I was left looking for the place where they had the forks and it was one of those food prep plastic bin things with all the plastic disposable forks all willy-nilly in there. Not individually wrapped or anything. So god knows who has had their grubby hands all in there rifling through the forks lol. The food was decent. I ordered the bowl with the fried rice base. There, I found a fairly large egg shell. Its a good thing I found it because I totally would have swallowed it. The workers did work hard. With improvements, it may be a decent place to eat. I tried Bonfire because I wanted to try something different in the area. When I came in I was a little confused on where to start the line. At no point did the cashier or staff helped. Once I figured out that I should start at the cashier I placed my order and started to make my bowl. The food itself was ok. The selection bar was decently kept but some of the meat selection looked like its been out for awhile. Now I did like that they had options outside of the bowl like egg rolls. I loved the concept of this place and that everything is customizable, such that you can choose from whatever starch you want (rice, noodles, cabbage), you can choose from a variety of protein and vegetables and you can choose how much or how little of each you want as well. I like that they don't put a restriction on how much meat you can take. They have a good selection of spices and sauces to choose from as well to flavour the stir fry. Even though there were a few orders ahead of us, the food came out very quickly The prices were reasonable and a great place to go for some solid food. read more

I did not want to call this location out but i am so pissed and upset at the customer service i received. I ordered take out from this location last Thursday and was not pleased by the way the employees give me rude stares as i came to collect my order. On top of that, The food does not seem cooked right or give you the sauces you asked for into the bowl as they USUALLY do. And to TOP off the awful service i had received i get a plate with a HAIR in it and when i called to ask they could do they could NOT refund me over the fact that i had already "ate it" Do not eat here. read more

We will not be back. Had 3 bowls, one came back super spicy even though no spice was added, one had meat in it when it was vegetarian. Had to have it re made and then it came back out super spicy with red chili pepper added. They can't keep orders separate or bring them out correctly. Fast causal place. You order your bowl size when you walk in and then pick all your ingredients. They add whatever starch you pick (fried rice, lo mein, etc.). They will bring your food out to your table. We were more impressed than we originally thought. Only reason we gave it 4 stars was because of price. We had a regular bowl, large bowl and 1 fountain drink and it was almost $40. Could go to an actual hibachi sit down restaurant for nearly the same price. read more

The food here is pretty good. I like the setup. But it isnt very clear whats going on, and its clear that everyone working there is only interested in whats going on on their phone. They dont have much time to explain the unique setup wherein you pick your own ingredients, protein, etc. Decent food, poor service. read more

Raw meat uncovered and on the buffet can't possible be healthy. They ask for noodle choice, why not have a standard measure for the meat and it's kept refrigerated. Dining room needs to be cleaner. The restaurant stirred immediate red-flags upon entering. The restaurant had not a single scent or smell of food, only the very faint smell of oil. The value provided by this restaurant is not well. Spending twelve dollars for tasteless and artificial food ingredients is unacceptable with comparison taken elsewhere. My husband and I love Bonfire! Specifically the location in HERMITAGE. Take some of these reviews with a grain of salt if you are considering a visit to the HERMITAGE Bonfire because some of these reviews are clearly for the MT. JULIET location with the hibachi grill which is bottom of the barrel compared to the HERMITAGE one that has JUST the Mongolian grill. We love that Bonfire has fresh ingredients that we can choose from. We chose this location over the Mt. Juliet one because this one is cleaner and they care more about their ingredients being fresh. The Mt. Juliet Bonfire is absolutely DISGUSTING. The ingredient bar in Mt. Juliet is always CAKED with old ingredients and the meat ALWAYS looks grey. Not at the HERMITAGE Bonfire. We often travel from Lebanon just for Bonfire because we love it that much. The ONLY downside is the to-go containers. They used to be plastic and now they're styrofoam which is an AWFUL decision. If you're taking your food to-go, all the sauce gets soaked up by the styrofoam and makes your food dry as hell. When they had the plastic one, it kept your food better and you had all your sauce at the bottom. Please bring back the plastic containers. I know they might be more expensive to buy, but it's way better knowing my food is the same quality as if I dined in versus a worser version. read more

This review is for the Hermitage location: I love this Bonfire! Note that they only have the Mongolian BBQ bowls here, not the hibachi grill and show. This location is clean, well-stocked and maintained, encourages gloves at the food bar, offers online ordering, the food is varied and fresh, and the resulting dish was well-cooked and absolutely delicious. Remember to stack that bowl high. :) Employees were attentive, informative, and friendly. The dining area was clean, and facilities were well-maintained. absolutely love this place. the idea is great. can seem pricey but when you realize the amount of food you get with it , it is very much worth it. getting an XL is getting you dinner and lunch for the next day! its a very casual, fast paced restaurant, giving a great atmosphere. all the workers are more than happy to help with anything you might need. read more
