Went here on a whim. The service was great! The owner noticed I was unsure of what to order and he introduced himself to me and was more than helpful. He allowed me to sample what I was indecisive about. I ended up ordering half cheese (because this is how you rate how well a pizza place is) and half linguica. I usually prefer ground linguica but the linguica slices they made in house were very delicious. It's greek pizza so the crust is in between thick and thin. I prefer thin crust. The sauce was a good, mild tomato sauce. Nice and cheesy. The crust was crunchy and done perfectly. Overall, the pizza had a good combination of ingredients. Also, good prices.Considering it is a greek place, I will definitely have to come back and try the gyros and falafels. read more

I came in for the first time tonight. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich. It took a very, very long time to come out. And when it finally did, I was so disappointed. It was absolutely disgusting. I've never had a bad shawarma sandwich until today. The restaurant was also very dirty and chaotic. I spent $11 for a sandwich and a soda. I took two bites and threw it in the trash. Ordered a large cheese pizza here last week. It was good, not not memorable in any way. They seem to be going for a north end style pizza, which is appreciated given all the greek pizza joints in the area. It had a very good flavor, but it felt like they were a couple of adjustments away from improving it. The young man who rang me out was polite and asked me if I'd been here before(it was my first time) He seemed genuinely concerned with any feedback which is a good sign. All in all, much better than Eli's and I will definitely return to try something else on their menu or try their pizza with a few toppings. The inside is the same as it was in Eli's. Given a lot of the grants the city seems to be providing new local restaurants, it would be great if they could gt some funding to spruce up the inside(and outside) a bit. read more

Eli's never lets me down. Whether your craving a toasted Italian sub, meatball sub or maybe even a tuna sub..... Eli's got your back. I have a tough time finding a sub shop I like.. and at first I was afraid to try Eli's ... from the outside it doesn't look like much, but give them a chance because you wont be disappointed. I am always greeted with a smile. And now that I moved out of town, I find myself still going back there during my lunch breaks. I miss living down the street from them and I still have not found a new sub shop where I live. I will continue going here to get my fix, the Italian sub, everything except lettuce, toasted. read more

Decided to try Eli's because it had pretty good reviews on Yelp and is close to my apt. What a mistake! I got a meatball Parmesan grinder and an order of fries, and asked for a side of vinegar with the fries. At checkout through the Yelp Eat24 app, it gave me the option to request plates, napkins, forks, etc, so I asked for napkins, a fork, and a knife. They did not bring vinegar, napkins, a fork, or a knife. The meatballs on the sub were so terrible that I ended up throwing them away and just eating just the bread that had the very small amount of sauce and cheese they put on it. The fries were ok, but I would've liked them better if they had brought the vinegar for them (they could've at least told me if they don't have vinegar). The oddest, and most disappointing, thing about this experience was that THE DELIVERY DRIVER BROUGHT HIS CHILD (A TODDLER) WITH HIM TO MY APARTMENT! The kid tried to come into my home. I don't generally mind kids. Much of the time, I actually quite enjoy interacting with them. However, I find it completely unprofessional for someone I've never seen before to bring their kid to my home when I'm not expecting it. It's also pretty annoying to have to basically close my apartment door in a child's face to keep her from getting inside and running amok. My place is the opposite of kid friendly. My cat has claws and doesn't like children that are too small to understand boundaries yet. I have tons of sharp corners and dangerous things that do not have child locks. If you're a delivery driver and are going to bring your baby with you to work, I suggest bringing someone a little older, as well, to sit in the car with her so you're not annoying customers and exposing your child to random strangers and who knows what dangers. We live just up the street from I's and it's become a family staple. Our guests and my husband really enjoy the shawarma calzones, and I really enjoy their falafel roll-ups. They have great marinara, too, which we like to order a little extra of. My 5 year old and 11 month old love their meatmall subs. Overall, this is a solid little joint. read more

We love Eli's. Have been loyal customers for years. Their Greek dressing is hands down the best. Their BLTs are amazing. But just last night they delivered the wrong food to us. My husband called to tell them and after being yelled at by the owner that he never writes orders down wrong and being hung up on, our time with Eli's is over. Best Alfredo Sauce ever! Only comparable to Olive Garden's or my own homemade. I usually get the fett alfredo with ham and bacon and add breaded chicken. It comes with a huge portion of garlic bread and enough pasta to feed myself and my two little girls. All for 11 Bucks. Cant beat it. And they are friendly and prompt. Love this place! We've been getting pizza and subs here for years. The new owner is very pleasant and cares about preparing good food for his customers. The pizza isn't too greasy (although we don't order meat pizzas). The pizza dough tastes fresh (I can smell the yeast in it). There is plenty of cheese and the right amount of sauce. The onion rings are very good. We order 1 for two of us and that is plenty with a pizza. Order early enough and you can get baklava! Delicious! Their spinach pies are also very good. Allow plenty of time to get your order. I think the new owner is trying to do most of the work himself- so orders take longer than they used to. Its worth the wait though. They have delivery but if you need to pick up your order parking seems plentiful. read more

OK, this place has changed owners a few times over the years. So I've had to update my review again. 6 out of the last 7 times I went, I enjoyed EVERYTHING! However, when a restaurant changes a recipe (by adding something to it), they should notify their customers. Doesn't matter what that ingredient is, between personal preferences and food allergies, people need to know this stuff. My specific complaint? Onions in the steak and cheese subs. They never did this before, and all of the sudden, with no warning, it comes mixed in. Biting into an onion, makes me gag. It's great for flavor (in the form of a powder or a fine paste), but the texture of solid onion ruins it for me. I may be in the minority here, but I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. Anyway, as a result of this, I got home, unwrapped my sub, bit directly into a chunk of onion, and barely stopped myself from vomiting. These folks have great quality food, and most of the employees are friendly. But, because of this experience I probably won't be going back. read more

I think they have by far the best calzones in the area (if you like cheesy deliciousness). I love the buffalo chicken or the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and my wife always gets the ricotta and adds pepperoni. The pizza is also really good. Haven't been to Eli's in a while but I remember it used to be really good so I went there tonight. I think the business was sold to Greek owners since this once great place has turned into another greasy, Greek pizza place - - what a disappointment! To top it off, the kid at the counter had loud X-Rated rap musing playing on the sound system. This is DEFINITELY not the Eli's we once new. I saw a sign on the way out that said... "welcome back to our re-opening" - - translation: business was sold. Terrible service! Whoever was working that day not only seemed to be having a bad day, but a bad life! They were so unfriendly, they made me feel like I should be so lucky to be graced by their presence, I nearly ran out the door (and I would have if I hadn't already paid for my meal). I tried asking a question and was greeted by a very blunt and rude answer, followed by some death glares and mumbling among the staff in Greek. Very hostile environment. I saw a cockroach near the bathroom as well. As far as the food goes, it was sub-par. If I lived around here, I'd be here all the time. So many options here! We had a "skinny" pizza made on toasted pita bread which was delicious and only $6 for a 2-topping! We also tried the falafel appetizer which comes with house-made pickles and tahini dipping sauce- not bad and a great deal at only $5. Service- fantastic. Baklava - delicious and only $2 for a pretty hugh slice. It's nothing fancy but a great place for a quick, cheap bite. They of course do lots of take out as well. I'll be back here! read more

This place is the worst. I ordered a pizza and waited over 2 hours for it. While I was waiting, I went to use the restroom. It was awful. There were fecal smears on the wall and cockroaches on the floor. The water in the sink didn't even work. When I returned to my seat, the man who I assumed was the owner was sitting in the corner table with his back to the room. I looked closer and realized he was chopping up what I assumed was cocaine and snorting it. By the time I eventually got my pizza it was nearly cold and the dough had clearly gone bad. The pepperoni was ages past expiration and the cheese was practically mush. To top it off, I went outside to find my car had been towed from the Elis lot. Unbelievable. read more

I ordered pizzas this past saturday (6/8/2013) The pizzas were terribly undercooked and soggy and the dough was still raw. I had to put the pizza in my oven for a while to fully cook it. NEVER order a delivery from this place!! they tell you "20-30" minutes and its 50-60 minutes EVERY time, even on weekdays. This is not a one time thing. This is the 9th consecutive time and i have had it. Not to mention, they got the order incorrect and the girl (daughter i believe) works there was not polite on the phone. "so that was the only thing wrong with your order?"... couldnt believe i heard that after waiting an hour for a salad and an app. no big order here... did i mention i live on the same road as this place? takes me 3 minutes door to door if i dont get stuck at lights. And for such a loyal customer over the past 5 years, they have ALL my information on file... you think they would call back and apologize and or do something to keep my business, NO. nothing... i can say that b/c of this, i wont be ordering from here any longer as well i will be notifying my 5 neighbors and 7 co workers that order from here.
