Noel was my son's driving instructor. He was very easy to communicate with when setting up time for my son's lessons. My son said that Noel was patient with him and gave very good instructions. I could see my son's confidence in driving as well as his skill dramatically increased after each lesson. Sent my daughter to Bonita driving school years ago a was happy with the training. She passed 1st time. Recently I sent my son through their program and Wow what a difference for the worse! Missed appointments, Instructor arriving late, very late! Seemed the instructor was just there for the money and not with a passion to assist the student pass the driving exam??? 3 times I sent him out with the same instructor and she failed us! I feel ripped off! Waste of money!!! My son didn't even get out of the DMV parking lot and was failed for information the Bonita driving school failed to instruct! On his third class I asked the Bonita instructor to take him out and drive some of the DMV courses he might experience and the instructor showed up late and they drove the courses in the dark??? The test was not on the dark! Very disappointed! They told me my son would do well and I got hoodwinked, screwed over!!! Not happy with the level of competence with Bonita driving school!! read more

Started my son with Bonita Driving for the first 2 hour lesson with Noel and it went great. Shortly after, my son had a medical issue and couldn't drive and do the additional hours for a couple of months. Tried to start the next two lessons and after text after text and promises to schedule my son in to complete the additional hours, no joy. Communications and professionalism was absolutely horrendous - promises of getting scheduled again were broken and they just went silent with no comms whatsoever. This is a classic case of the company getting oversubscribed and they don't add additional resources to help manage the customer service side. For the amount of money they are charging, the customer service is so piss poor. Do better, Bonita Driving... don't be greedy and go cheap on the scheduling side... hire an admin person who can manage. BEWARE OF THIS DRIVING SCHOOL - look elsewhere if you care about customer service. read more

Their website doesn't openly display their prices, so when I contacted them to ask, the first question was what is your zip code? IMHO, where I live shouldn't factor into their price. When I was told $240 for 2hrs and said others in the area charge almost half that, so what makes your instruction worth so much more I didn't receive a response. Had they bothered to explain any differentiators as to how/ why they are better than other driving schools in the area I may have gone with them. The very first class they took my son on the freeway right away with another student in the car. At the end of the lesson they picked up another brand new student driver that drove my son home. When I called to arrange his first lesson this was never explained to me. I would try to schedule the following lessons and CJ wouldn't return my calls. So happy with the lessons I've received from Bonita Driving School!! Upon first calling them, I received an instructor and was able to schedule with Noel directly based on my availability. Really great instructor! Had a few lessons over a span of 1-2 months with Noel, very straight forward and easy to talk to. Especially during instruction, the info was easy to understand while driving. At first I was a little skeptical, how well would they train my daughter, how expensive was it? We just finished the last lesson and could not be happier. They met and exceeded our families expectations. Our instructor Audrey feels like part of our family. They have a detailed plan with progression in each lesson. Saw pictures of all my friends passing their test on the Bonita Driving School Instagram page so I decided to give them a call. Noel was my instructor. He looked at my score sheet from my 2 failed attempts and we worked heavily on those errors. I took 3 lessons and on the last lesson we drove all the way to La Jolla from Eastlake. Learned a lot about lane position and following distance which made freeway driving a lot more comfortable. I went from failing the 1st time for a critical error then failing again the 2nd time w/ 17 errors to PASSING the test w/ only 1 error. I was so HAPPY!!! I was absolutely terrified of driving, unable to even sit in the driver's seat of a car, before taking these classes. Within about 6 or 7 driving sessions taking me around the San Diego area, as well as areas near where I live, I was able to drive safely and confidently, and eventually pass my driven exam on the first try with only one mark down. The instruction is helpful and collected, and incredibly knowledgeable on California driving laws. The cars have an extra set of brakes and gas pedals on the passengers side for the instructor. Whether you are a teenager, or an adult looking forward to getting that Driver's License (like me), they've got it covered for you. I work full time in San Diego Downtown area and taking the bus takes about two hours of my time before I get home so I really appreciate that CJ (my driving instructor) is very flexible with my schedule and would adjust depending on what time I get home. I have pretty much worked only with him the entire duration of my practice until the day I passed my driving test. They also use a dual-control car which puts me at ease knowing that if anything goes wrong with my control on the car, he can easily control it on his side. I can't say enough thanks to this school for teaching me from the basics up to how I can pass my test and drive safely after getting my license. CJ teaches really well and he doesn't get impatient with how you do on the road. He teach good techniques and explains driving situations really well. He made me experience different kinds of traffic situations like driving on a freeway, different intersections, traffic lights, busy areas, etc. I gained a lot more than what I have expected to get and somehow, he manages to make the driving practice enjoyable and less stressful. The day of my driving test, he made me practice a little bit more around the DMV area and made sure that I am fully prepared to take the test. He takes questions and answers them the best he could. I will tell my friends and family to get their training at Bonita Driving School (CJ specifically). I know they have a bunch of other instructors but I highly recommend CJ Aguilar.
