(4) in class Driver's Ed. courses for $100 and (3) two hour behind the wheel training with a certified instructor for $450. That's relatively cheap when compared to other programs. We scheduled in advance and organized our family calendar around the confirmed time, only to have the appointment rescheduled with little consideration for the impact. When a business commits to a time, clients adjust work and family responsibilities accordingly. Arbitrary changes show a lack of respect for customers' time. I have been trying to contact other business in order to schedule my daughter's driving lessons with no luck. I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone, left messages and emailed. The only one that responded right away (next day) was Budget Driving School and they were able to work with her schedule. I wanted to say, "Thank you" for returning my call and working with us on getting my daughter in so she can apply for her drivers license soon! We can't wait to get these lessons started! The in person class is wonderfu. Both of my children enjoyed the class. However we would NOT recommend the behind the wheel through them. The discount is not worth it. First kid got Mono from her driving instuctor who made her go to the store and inside to buy her medication. Totally unprofessional and my kid was sick for months. Second kid had multiple driving instructors and never received the completion document and charged us $20 to replace something we never got. read more

This review is long overdue, so here it goes. We researched a driving school for my daughter Maria and opted for Budget Driving School around March/April 2024. I requested a female instructor and was assigned Iliana. We were thoroughly satisfied with the 6-hour behind-the-wheel sessions and highly recommend Iliana. Iliana's guidance led to my daughter passing her road test on the first attempt at the Chula Vista DMV location. The six hours spent with Iliana was productive. She showed my daughter proper driving techniques and defensive driving strategies. We scheduled a road test through DMV's website. On the day of the test, we went to Window 17 to check-in. After check-in was complete, we drove behind the building to wait for an examiner to render the test. There was a long line of cars, as we waited close to two hours, as there weren't many examiners available. Once it was my daughter's turn, it took 15 - 20 minutes to complete the test, as the course they drove was in the vicinity of the DMV. Upon completion of the driving test, the car was parked in a designated "Reserved" parking spot. We checked back into either Window 13, 15, or 18 (I forgot which window number) for a temporary license. The actual license took two to three weeks to come in the mail. All in all, it was a seamless experience and highly recommend Iliana and Budget Driving School to up-and-coming drivers. read more

In June 2019 my son took BTW lessons with Ben and my son passed his BTW test on the first try! In November 2020 my other son passed this BTW test on his first try! This is two reviews and thanks to Ben both my sons have their drivers license! Ben is awesome. I was totally hands off and I didn't teach my sons how to drive-I refused to teach them because I didn't want them to be frustrated with me and I didn't want to create a negative experience for them. I left it to the professional. Ben did an amazing job. If you want your kid to be a safe driver, Ben is an expert on safety and I needed safety to be most important. Maria Gonzalez is AMAZING! She is is so sweet, patient, & helpful. She really understands that we're all beginners & she really helped me by explaining to me what I did wrong, why it was wrong, & showing me what I did by reenacting it & then showing me the proper way to do it. When I would make mistakes that require quick fixation, she would calmly grab the bottom or side of the wheel to prevent an accident & she did it in a way that didn't make me feel offended. Or she would gently step on the break on her side of the car. With her, I was not ashamed of my mistakes & with each lesson, I honestly improved SO much! The first session was in residential areas & in busy interersections, did the basics like turning, nothing crazy. Second session, we did unprotected left turns, lane changes, the freeway, & parallel parking. Third session, same as the second but she brought me to the routes that the Chula Vista DMV tests people for their license, which was pretty cool, & she really helped me sharpen all that I've learned. Every lesson, she makes sure to cover once or twice the buttons of the car & makes you identify them yourself & explain what everything is bc they ask you during the test. It's really cool & now I'll never forget them! She's also very easy to talk to & such a down to earth human being. I really loved her & I can't wait to make her proud in 6 months! The teacher that I took lessons with, Ben, is awesome. He really helped me becoming confortable with the road. I don't have anything else to say about him, I truly recommend. But, the person that answers the phone when you call the office is the rudest person I have ever talked to. Be prepared to be hung up on, and talked to like you are nothing. I understand it's a " budget " driving school, but it might be time to hire people that are nicer to your actual customers. I would not have taken this school if I had another choice. Unfortunately, because of my scheduled appointment to the DMV, I did not have time to find another school. I have worked in Sales and customer service my whole life, and it is not the way to talk to customers. Extremely unprofessional. Instructor did not pay much attention and was on his phone most of the time. He took my kid to a park and left the car to go on a smoke break all 3 days. He even yelled at my kid for hitting a curb. Probably wouldn't have happened if he was paying attention and doing his job. read more

I was pretty anxious about trying to get my license. I attempted many years ago to get it but I failed. I took only 4 classes with Ben. Ben was the best at building my confidence and letting me know that I could do this. He has a very comprehensive approach to teaching. I recommend Ben to anyone looking to get their license but cant just borrow a car. He's very personable and punctual those are very important traits to have. The instructor was on his phone a lot of the time per my teen and seemed a little uninterested. The same day the instructor had my teen drive him to the store and wait 10 minutes in the parking lot, dropped him off at home 15 minutes earlier than he should have. I would of totally given 5 stars because my daughter is happy w/ the experience so far. Maria is a good instructor but I'm a little upset that my daughter was dropped off 15 min early. Maria told her to remind her on the 3rd driving training & she'll get an extra 15 then, the reason was she had another appointment. You will learn how to drive and it is reasonably priced, but one of the drivers called the day before to ask if she could come during the day instead of at night when I had specifically requested a night time lesson well in advanced because I wanted my daughter to practice driving at night. Mildly annoying--nothing major. My big complaint is the grumpy old man who answers the phone. I called to rearrange the lesson THEY CANCELLED and he asked me if the lesson was for a new driver. I said "no." Then he started asking for my zip, etc., I told him my daughter had already taken lessons with them and then he got in a snit, passed the phone to someone else and (loud enough for me to hear) complained that I had given him the wrong information. I told the girl who picked up the phone and she said "Well he's hard of hearing." Maybe someone else should be answering the phone then..? read more

I highly recommend Casey as a driving instructor! Initially I tried learning by myself with friends and family, but found that wasn't really getting me anywhere. Even Youtube vides didn't work! Casey was able to explain and demonstrate lessons in a way I could understand, and never made me feel rushed or confused.
