Because I will be leaving for a trip soon and my regular tailor was unavailable today, I decided to try this company for tailoring. I sought hemming for 2 pairs of high-waisted pants, repair of a Colombia travel shirt, and a possible sleeve alteration to another shirt. During a phone call, we discussed a "Friday or Saturday" pickup. The woman said they could have the tailoring completed by Friday (five days, including the day of drop-off), that it would cost $22 per pair of pants, and that she would quote the shirts upon my arrival. When I arrived, while I was waiting, she handed a batch of clothes to another customer. As the customer was partially out the door, she interrupted them to reclaim several articles she had mistakenly given them that belonged to a different customer. After finishing with that customer, she answered my question regarding the shirt repair, saying it was not something to repair and that I should return the shirt to the seller. Moments later, she said she could try to fix it. We then discussed tailoring my pants. I asked for her opinion on the length since it was a style of pant I had not worn before. I showed her some reference photos and explained that I wanted them to look good because they were meant to impress my girlfriend. She mentioned sending pictures to my girlfriend for her opinion. I replied that it was a good option but that I could probably gauge the correct length once I saw the pants on. She stepped away for a moment. I called my girlfriend to check her availability. The woman then said from across the room that it would be an extra $8 per pair of pants. I asked why. She said it was because they were "different pants" and that "this was taking long." I said that was too expensive because my regular tailor, who was simply unavailable that day, charges less than their starting price. She told me to go to my regular tailor. I then asked about the shirt repair. She said it was probably better to have it done there as well. I thanked her and left. Regretfully, I will not be recommending this company under most circumstances. I will be returning to my regular tailor at The Hanger Dry Cleaning on 4th when they are available. read more

My friend let me borrow 2 long dresses for a friend's wedding this past weekend. Of course, the unexpected happened and some tamarindo alcohol spilled all over the bottom of my dress. It smelled SPICY and my friend needed the dresses back by Friday for an event of hers. I took the 2 dresses into Bon's on Tuesday and she was able to have them good as new by Thursday!! I have been here twice and had two instances where my items were damaged. I brought in a weighted blanket to be cleaned. They took a month to clean it after they poked a hole in it and the beads fell out. They then proceeded to patch a blue weighted blanket with a brown patch... cuz that makes sense. I figured whatever stuff happens. I recently brought in a brand new jacket that I had worn once. It had a small water stain on it. They lost my ticket and never contacted me to let me know it was clean. Then I came in and the spot was still there. I asked them to try again. Then upon returning (again no update that it was done) I came in to take the jacket. The original stain was still there with no change, then upon further examination there are several new stains!!! One brown spot on a new jacket and 3 new stains!!! They refused to replace the brand new jacket or give me my money back. I'd like to see if they can make this right but I don't have high hopes. TLDR: they damaged two items the the two times I have trusted this dry cleaner. BEWARE read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & SHE RUINED MY COAT! I came in looking for some alterations on a coat! She was watching a show on her computer and didn't even look at me while I was explaining to her what needed to be done --- and since she wasn't listening in the first place, she had me repeat my story -- anyways fast forward, I came and picked up the coat and a large stain was on the back of my coat - I was furious because not only she was BAD at customer service, now she RUINED MY COAT --- I had her clean it again and even after the second wash, you could still see some of it there. Prior to going in I called, I went in about 11:20am on a Saturday. I have 1 dress that needed alterations. I was first asked did I have an appointment, no but I literally called 4 mins prior. She then told me she could not have me try it on because she closed at noon and if I knew how many inches she could do that. The level of customer service and communication was negative 10. an odd service to want while covid-19 sheltering but it was needed! i have some maternity pants that needed to be hemmed at the bottom. the kind lady who works here offered to have me pin my own pants from home since we're physically distancing but i got a little nervous that i was doing it wrong so i made the hard decision to come in. we both wore masks, we were very cautious of each other's presence. she was quick + very aware of the precautions to take while making her markings for alterations. when customers came in, she asked them to wait outside so that i was the only person in the cleaners. she had a big container pump of hand sanitizer on the counter as well. friendly business + easy parking, i am happy w my alterations. i felt safe during my visit. highly recommend. read more

Lady is really rude, lacks decency and lacks customer service. I came in at 4:15pm and there was still plenty of time before she closed at 5pm. She looked at my dresses and I asked her if I could try them on to show her what needed to be done. She was annoyed at this, but agreed. She took me to a cluttered makeshift bathroom-turned-dressing-room that felt unwelcoming and had stuff everywhere. She moved some clothes to the side of the loveseat to make partial room for me to put my things. She then proceeded to leave the door open, stating "leave the door open because it's heavy and there are no customers right now." I awkwardly stripped down and tried on my clothes with the door wide open in the back. After I tried on one romper to show her, she quoted me $28 to hem the top of the shoulders. I was just surprised as it didn't seem as complicated compared to my other dresses that cost this much, and she said "you should have asked for a quote before you waste your time and my time." I don't usually dry clean my clothes. I'm more of a once in a while type of person so naturally, you look for the best rated places here. I've lived in LB for close to 25 years and Bon's has always been my local dry cleaners and she's been there as far back as I can Remember. Been here just a few times and I've never had a bad experience. As far as the Lady's attitude, she can be blunt and maybe to some people come off as mean sometimes but you have to realize that they are busy takin orders all day and trying to fulfill them in a timely manner so you can't come in here expecting to have a full blown conversation. All the garments I've had cleaned here were done very well and in a timely manner. As far as prices, it's debatable, everyone has their own preference of what they are willing to pay specially if your job requires you to wear suits daily. My buddy says it's expensive but he cleans his stuff regularly so saving a few cents to a dollar over better quality work makes sense to him. I say if you're local and just need a few things cleaned for a wedding or an event coming up, give her a shot. You're not going to find a shop near Downtown with better feedback. read more

We had a great experience with Bon's. The owner was super friendly and we ended up using her dry cleaning and alteration services. My satin jacket came out pristine and we also asked that she add inner pockets to two other jackets. She was great at communicating with us about how we wanted the pockets done and reached out before actually sewing to make sure we were happy with the material she picked out. I swear you can't even tell that there was an alteration, the pockets came out so well, and her stitching was very straight and detailed. Allright! So I had a rough start with Bon's to be honest. They lost my best shirt on my first experience with them, but that was three years ago, they FOUND the shirt and since have more than made up for it. I go here because of the convenience, and the price. Christine is a real character! The owner is wicked clever and she has the memory of an elephant. I don't even know why she uses a computer system because she remembers not only her customers, but their clothes as well, and what they bring in! She is kind, charming, caring, and really takes the time to get to know her customers. Great way to establish a business. Also, the price is just about right for everything if not on the cheaper side compared to other cleaners. The quality of cleaning is good 4 - 5 stars. They send out for their cleaning and sometimes "miss the mark" pun intended, but they do try or they say they do. (although I am not sure if its a good old college try, but I think so) Go to Bon's. I agree with some of the reviews below and wish I had read them beforehand: if you try to clean or press delicate material such as virgin wool or silk, this place is unable to do that. Multiple pieces come out with press marks and wrinkles along stitchings. The owner tries her best, but after going twice, both times with disappointing results, I've given up. She also won't admit any fault. I dropped off a new dress to be pressed (wrinkled from shipping), and when I pointed out that there's now a new stain, she was very adamant that it wasn't their fault. I mean I was willing to pay to have the stain removed so we could just move on, just own it and stop being so defensive. read more
