I will not be returning to this cleaners. I made it very clear that I needed my items ready by Thursday morning for a wedding, and they assured me they would be done in time. When I arrived Thursday morning, not only were my clothes missing, but after waiting 30 minutes, I was told they had no idea where they were. Eventually, they directed me to a completely different cleaners--Best Cleaners in Los Alamitos--where my items had been dropped off without my knowledge. Despite the inconvenience and having to drive 15 minutes out of my way, I was still charged full price. The manager handled the situation extremely poorly, and as a result, you've lost a customer. If you're considering using this cleaners, I suggest you skip the middleman and go directly to Best Cleaners in Los Alamitos, where they apparently send their items for cheaper service anyway. read more

They shrunk my cashmere sweater and blamed the sweater. They said they hand-washed it because the label said hand-wash or dry clan. I explained that I brought it in to be dry cleaned, with other items that were also to be dry cleaned, because they are a dry cleaners. If I wanted to hand wash it i wouldn't have brought it there and done it myself. I personally have never hand-washed a cashmere sweater as I'm not an expert in knitwear, but the dry cleaners is. My husband and I had a bunch of clothes that needed fixing--shortening sleeves, cropping blouses, hemming pants and the tailor who did the alterations did such a beautiful job! She was also so kind and accommodating, and even finished the work quickly when we needed it done soon. Our clothes fit perfectly now and we're so happy with the results. I am beyond devastated. Took my favorite dress here for a cleaning - just picked it up today for a wedding next weekend. They shrunk and destroyed my dress. It's a Reformation dress and the label said "Green Dry Clean Only". I have specifically taken it to dry cleaners that proclaim their use of environmentally safe products. Betty's own website promotes that they "use an environmentally preferred Cleaning process." Also - It was an expensive dress, I adore the Reformation label, and this item was definitely an investment for me... I thought paying $25 alone to get it cleaned would be a safe expense. I've taken it to other cleaners before, no problems - now I'm regretting the decision to take it to Betty's. I am so so so upset... I don't know how they can fix it (other than reimbursing me for the cost of cleaning and the dress itself). I have no idea what they actually do to treat the items they service, (other than what is listed on their website) however they definitely did not treat my item with the proper care it was intended to receive. I'm hoping that they will step up and do something about this - beware of taking your valuable items here, you risk destroying something you adore in their careless hands. UPDATE: So here's what happened after the initial damage was done. I went back to the shop to show them the newly damaged condition of the dress, along with my pictures to show the before and after. They asked me if I had it dry cleaned before and how many times I wore it. Frankly to me that seems besides the point because it was in one condition before I dropped it off and in the course of being under their care, it was no longer wearable. They said they would call me back the next day. I didn't hear from them by 4pm, so I called and asked for an update, to which I was told they would call me back again the following day. The next day they told me that they could fix the dress and to bring it back. I was skeptical and expressed that I would rather just have it replaced, but I brought it back. Then they called me in a day to tell me it was fixed. I went back and tried it on, still way too tight and unwearable. They said they would keep working on it. I told them I would just like a refund for the dress. I had found another on eBay preowned for $180 and I asked if they could just please pay for the new used dress. I was told they would see what they could do. The next day, they called me to tell me they could give me a $100 credit to use at Betty Brite. I said, that's not ok, I just want my dress returned to me in the condition I gave it to them, which is now impossible, so again I asked if they would please reimburse me for the replacement dress I had found on eBay. (Also, why would I want a $100 credit - so they can damage more items I own? C'mon man!) Later the next week they called and told me they could reimburse me. They kept my original dress they damaged and only reimbursed me for the dress I had to purchase, which I was able to negotiate to a lesser amount with eBay seller (down to $160) BUT they did not include the $25 I spent for them to damage my original dress. At this point I'm just going to leave it be. Very disappointed I had to haggle so much with them to do the right thing, WHICH I still feel like they didn't do, because I basically spent $25 to have my dress damaged and go through this mess. Not the kind of roller coaster I like to get down with, especially for $25. The people that work here are nice and I understand that this was not necessarily within their power to control, but I definitely do NOT recommend taking anything you value here. Dropped off my new suede Louboutin shoes here for cleaning after I got them dirty during our family photoshoot. A couple pretty dark dirt lines, one on the inside and on the outside. I was very nervous dropping off my new babies, but the gentleman upfront reassured me nothing would happen until he spoke to the shoe cleaner and confirmed everything. Within a week he called with information and I asked him to let me do some research as he said there was a small percentage that would be affected by being shampooed since it was suede. He held off until I gave approval, which is amazing bc I am a bit of a control freak and he catered to that every step of the way. After a couple of weeks I got my shoes and they looked great!! I was so happy they were able to get the areas completely clean without impacting the shoes. I also dropped off my Ugg boots that I had dragged through wet dirty snow and they were a mess! Very bad customer service. My wife and I have used Betty Brite clearers a few times. They told me to be sure to use the 20% online code next time I drop anything off. This time I dropped off about 7 items and tried to use their online 20% code. When I dropped off my clothes, the woman who helped me told me to show the coupon when I picked up my clothes. I then picked up my clothes several days later and the guy who was at the counter told that I had to show the coupon when I dropped it off, which I did. I explained the situation to him and he basically said too bad and was quite rude and unapologetic. My wife was going to bring her wedding dress to be cleaned here, which would have been hundreds of dollars. And you couldn't just give me $5 off an order? You just lost 2 customers. I just picked up my first order and after receiving a 20% first time visit discount still paid waaay too much for four items and one hole to be mended on a dress. If by chance I have an item that they think might be an issue to clean, they call me to describe it, explain why it is going to be an issue, and let me decide whether or not to take the risk. Today I dropped of 2 Hawaiian shirts and1 dress shirt for laundry. Also, I dropped off a rippled black DKNY bedspread that is12 years old, which was a gift and had some irregulars in the seams starting. I wanted to have it cleaned before my yard sale in early August so why not right? Oy, such a Mench I am! I received a call this afternoon from Betty Brite Cleaners and I was told that the seams may fall apart if it is dry cleaned. I explained why I was having it dry cleaned and the women said "Michael save yourself $40 and leave it in the bag, ask $25 for it". Update on this: Just discovered another pair of pants that they supposedly altered and charged me for had never been altered! Was part of a group of clothing I brought in to have done. I will never go to this place again. I have been a customer for eight years at this dry cleaners ever since moving to Belmont Heights, and this is the third set of owners or franchisees now to operate this cleaners since I've been coming here, and I definitely like them the least. Since their taking over, my initial problem was that the prices seem to have been jacked up. This cleaners was always a little on the pricey side, but they really seem to have become overpriced. The second problem, and why I began to distrust them, was that they handed me back an incomplete order without checking that the number of items was correct, and the missing item was a beautiful brand new dress. It seemed a little suspicious that the dress had been separated from the other items and that if I had not caught it, I might never have gotten it back. They said it would have been linked to my phone number, but what if I had forgotten about it? So I stopped using them and went to a much less expensive cleaners for awhile, but because they're the only cleaners within walking distance of my house and I needed some alterations done, I drifted back. Big mistake. My latest experience is I had numerous pairs of new pants hemmed. I had these done recently right after Christmas. They were brought in in two different groups. On one I gave my cell number, and the person must have entered it incorrectly. When I brought one of the pairs back for a re-do because they were WAY too long to wear with flats (I had tried them on for fitting at the shop!), they first tried to tell me that they had never done the work for me because the order wasn't in the computer. A person named Angel kept accusing me of apparently trying to be dishonest. I have money. I don't need to work up a story to get a free pants hemming. Then when the seamstress looked at it and admitted she had done the work, she scolded me and said, "You know, when you bring clothes back two or three months later and say make them an inch shorter and you haven't had them fitted at the store, we have a problem with that," Well, neither of those things were true. Their attitude was rude when I had spent a lot of money there, and it really annoyed me. On top of that, they charge -- get this -- $45.00 to take up sleeves at the armholes! I have been reading reviews on Yelp for the most popular dry cleaners and tailors in the area, and I will definitely be checking those out. I think I've had it with this place. Ok, so this is based on three visits... would have been a three if it wasn't for the rude/uncaring attitude of the one girl behind the counter (she has some extra large freckles or slight problems with her face.) 1.) Dry Cleaning-went three times no problems, good work, little pricey. 2.) Alterations-The alteration lady is very very nice, VERY pricey though... They WILL NOT tell you the pricing beforehand. ASK for them to call you before alterations are done, so you don't get a heart attack when you pick it up. 3.) My complaint- I picked up my dry cleaning and alterations thinking I was going to pay around $60 or $65 but my bill was just over $100. I was in such shock that I went home without saying anything. Ok, so the next day I can finally go in without wanting to blowup to ask about the prices (especially the alterations). The girl mentioned above told me that I said no when she asked "Do you want me to call and tell you about the prices?" ...maybe I did not hear her or maybe I was just used to not getting bent over to have my clothes altered and cleaned. Whatever the case, she did not want to work with me on this issue, telling me that I had to talk to the alteration women to discuss the price. So, I ask where and when she comes in and was told "Oh, she comes in whenever and stays for short time...So I don't know when she will be in." NICE! I gave my phone number for the seamstress to call me. Which she NEVER did. I finally tracked her down and when I spoke to her she was very polite and explained why one item was more (it was a difficult job). However, paying $18, plus $6 for cleaning to hem a lined pair of linen pants, and $14 for a normal pair plus $5 for cleaning. Seems to me like a bit much. So what I learned is that this place is pricey. I would have been ok with that, and just gone somewhere else without yelping. BUT I had to Yelp about the poor customer service Don't talk to me like I am a kid, I am a customer. Had they offered me partial cash back on the alterations, I would have continued to get my dry cleaning serviced there, sans alterations. read more

This place always does a good job with my clothes. It's convenient to me and on my way to/from work. They open pretty early in the morning and sometimes it's a bit of a rush in the evening to catch them before they close but normally not a big deal. The people working there are very nice and whenever there has been an issue they just tell me to bring it back and they'll fix it. I've never had anything major happen here that would not make me want to come back. Clothes came back perfect every time, until one day when they really messed up, and then incredibly, they refused to take any kind of responsibility for their mistake. This happened 3 months ago. I'm writing about it now because I received a coupon in the mail where they boast that people love them on Yelp! Well, I'm people, and I most definitely don't love Betty Brite. In fact, they have been despicable. The sad story... I purchased a very very nice Burberry tie for an upcoming business trip to Italy. My sister explained that in Italy before they listen to what you have to say, they look at what you're wearing. So naturally I splurged a little on my wardrobe. I wore the tie before the trip to show it off to coworkers. Careful as I was, I still managed to get a tiny spot on it, because I was eating outdoors on a windy day, and the tie went airborne, grazed my plate, and picked up a small speck of food. The spot was barely noticeable and in retrospect I should have let it be, but I took it in anyway, so things would be 'perfect'. Well, Betty Brite destroyed that tie. They altered the sheen so drastically that it was almost unrecognizable. But worst (and incredible actually) was the fact that they pressed it into a glaringly rough and unsymmetric shape! I speculate that they washed it in water by mistake, and then went through heroics to try to cover up the damage. When this 'problem', which they were so to speak trying to sweep under the rug, was brought to their attention, they had the gall to blame it on the quality of the tie - the clerk actually said "they don't make ties like they used to." I'm like OMFG, are you kidding me? Fine, management will make it right. Wrong! No remorse; no recourse; no mitigation of any kind. read more

I pass 5 other dry cleaners to get to Betty Brite - that's how much I love their service and trust them with all my items. I've had tailoring done there, repairs, as well as cleaning my duvet, all at reasonable prices. For those who have said Betty Brite is expensive, what's expensive is to take your beautiful clothes to a dry cleaners only to have it damaged, buttons broken or stains appear that were not there when I took it in! Expensive is to replace these items when the so-called "bargain" dry cleaner ruins your favorite dress or your husband's designer suit! I like this place. They do a good job and their prices are more affordable then a few of the other places I've been to locally (cough, Fosberg, cough). They often send out coupons in the junk mail. They come in the blue Value Pak envelope so look for that and save yourself some duckets. I did take some pants to have hemmed here and they did a good job but they charged me about $15 a pair if I'm not mistaken. That is a tad higher than I'm used to paying but they turned out good. They did call me and confirm what the charge would be before they started working. When I had dropped off the pants, the lady who does the alterations wasn't there. read more
