Straight out of the 50s. This is a small business that has been in Lubbock for decades now. Only one location. The staff is VERY friendly. The burgers are great. They are you perfect greasy, but great choice! The fries were hot and crinkled. Who doesn't like that! This place makes me want to throw on some roller blades in be in an old movie! read more

Bonus Burger is our favorite place to get a burger. For years we keep trying other places but they were never as good as Bonus Burger. Their burgers are always delicious - made from good quality ingredients, cooked perfectly & served piping hot. The tater tots, onion rings and french fries are always good, too. read more

Food ended up being pretty goo. The Chili cheese fries were terrific, tons of REAL cheese which is unheard of in most fast food joints. Not calorie friendly however :). The hamburgers were good. I ordered the Chili burger myself, expecting a Green chili burger. It ended up being the other kind of Chil. I'd rank it as being one of the best chili burgers I've had. Most chili burgers are messy. This was not. Bonus Burger ended up doing a great job with the chili and the sause was think enough not to run down the outside. I ate here for the first time today, and it was great! The ladies working are super sweet and genuinely care about their customers- I could tell they were on a first-name basis with many of the people who were inside. The burger was good, the sweet tea was perfect, and everything is fairly priced. I'll definitely be back! read more

Place still has amazing burgers. Picked up some burgers here today for my wife and I and they were delicious! I always call ahead because it just seems to make things easier for both them and us. Unassuming little shack with some solid options for when you're just craving a good ol' greasy, no frills burger and fries. (One order of fries is definitely enough to split!) They also have different sandwich options, hot dogs, and burritos to pick from. Don't leave without getting a milkshake - I'm usually not big on them, but this place had the best cherry milkshake I've ever had. For anyone from Austin, Bonus Burgers gives me a little P. Terry's vibe, which is always a good thing. The prices are exactly what you'd expect and the girls at the counter were friendly and helpful. There's only a few booths available for seating but most people are in and out, so there didn't seem to be a wait. Certainly not five-star dining, but this holdover from yester-years is certainly a place to grab a good sized hamburger, exceptional french fries, and to take a look at their daily special. There is no inside dining, you drive up place your order and pull around back and wait for your name to be called. You then go up to the window and pay. Note, no cards of any kind accepted. My favorite burger in Lubbock. Reminds me of the old Andrews burgers. It's a greasy burger that I can't get back home in Austin. This was a Friday lunch spot favorite when I worked at a school nearby. I recommend calling in your order whether if you're going to be picking up. Also, cash or check only. I'm pretty picky about burgers and as far as I am concerned this is one of my top two for a fast food style burger in Lubbock. The thick cut fries are also one of my favorite parts of eating here. We paid $16 for 2 cheeseburger, fries, tots, and a drink. Portions are generous. If you're looking for a fast food burger I would pick this over a chain any day. read more

I understand that most will enjoy this place but that doesn't constitute a 5 star rating. The burger is good and I like that it's a local joint and not a chain. Thank of a buger that's better than sonic but not as good as 5 guys. I give it a 3.5 maybe a 4 for the local factor. The sides are pre frozen and most likely the meat too....it woukd take little effort to make this a 5 star joint. Get some homemade sides, cut the grease by a 1/3 and get a quality bun...this place would be rock'n. read more

To the owners that are being hated upon due to them asking for a family to calm there child down I say get both sides of the story lol. After 3 very respectful attempts to calm there screaming child down....things seemed to escalte when the family was surprised they were promptly told after the 4th time to please get control of there blood screaming child.....but i personally thought it was respectful for the business to ask due to the small inside that other customers were consuming. I was on of them. And I thank you Bonus Burger. If my child was acting as such...my child was screaming at the top of there lungs like that I wouldve definitely handled even if out of respect for other patrons....if anything be a respectable of other customers and not try to form a on-social group meet.....(which is illegal btw...loitering) at the place of buisness to shut them down? Bonus Burgers is an old time burger place. Everything is hot and fresh, so it may take 10 minutes or more for your order, but it's worth it. The fries and tater tots are piping hot. The chili cheese tater tots are especially good, and a meal in itself. The chicken strip dinner is also excellent, and big enough for 2 meals. read more
