    Tiki vibes

This bar has kick-ass playlists, great bartenders, excellent drinks and overall fantastic vibes. I'm still unsure how a place this cool found its way to Orinda, but I'm very glad it did. Planning on becoming a regular.

This tiny tiki bar is so awesome!! Right next to the movie theater so a movie then drinks at this place are a great date night idea. Love the decor and the drinks were amazing

    Fun tiki atmosphere! Nice drinks

Great place to visit after the Orinda theater or dinner at Casa Orinda Steakhouse. Good variety of tropical drinks. Fun decor. The downside would be the fact that we've been here for 20+ minutes and still haven't gotten our drinks. And there are empty seats. Bummer, the bartender admitted he forgot the drinks for our party of four. And we had already paid! UPDATE: We did finally get our drinks and they were good. I got the Saturn which was gin based and my boyfriend got the Mai Tai. As we were leaving the bartender apologized again and offered to comp our drinks but my boyfriend politely declined.

This is a fully legit tiki bar, and worth traveling to for any tiki fanatic in the East Bay. Two of us sampled four the drinks off their menu and one was a winner. Their classic Matai was done just as it should be: with plenty of fresh momt, well balanced, and rich use of orgeat. The jungle bird was delicious, and presented with just the right amount of tiki kitch. Their version of a grog was richly spaced and served with an orchid flower on top. And finally we had a non-rum drink that combined rye, scotch, import into a sort of tiki old-fashioned. Also great ambience and music. Definitely seated my expectations

This is a fun new place in Orinda! It's right next to the Orinda theater. The inside is small but they have done a great job on the decorations and it is a fun little place to hideout and step away for a little bit. All the cocktails my mom and sister and I got were delicious and they put a lot of fun garnishes in them. Service was friendly. We will be back

Cozy tiki bar nestled next to the theatre in Orinda. Drinks are very strong, which is appreciated since some bars can be stingy with their pours. My favorite was the zombie, but I'm looking forward to trying a few other drinks from their menu on my next visit.

Great addition to Orinda! Boo Loo Lounge is a tiki bar that just soft opened. There's not even a sign yet. It's just to the side of the Orinda Theatre, occupying the spot that the old Cine Cuvee wine bar used to occupy. Apparently the bar has been under renovation for about 1.5 years, through the latter part of COVID, and is just now getting ready to open. They're still waiting on the ingredients for their full menu but they have a fun and tasty more limited menu for now. We tried a Ruby Daquiri which was a daquiri with port. A little sweet and quite strong. Fun tiki decoration inside the lounge and very friendly staff. I'm looking forward to bringing friends and family back here! Finally a fun cocktail bar in Orinda!

    Amazing cocktail

Really good vibes and great service ! Came on my anniversary and had a lot of fun and was a special time

UPDATE: went back and had a great experience with Maxton behind the stick. My wife got the Singapore Lady and really liked it; I got the Grog and thought it was one of the most complexly layered drinks I've ever had! Be warned that it's very dry, but that's on purpose so I can't fault it. So glad to have a legit tiki bar in Lamorinda. Go check them out. You'll have a great time as long as one of their primary bartenders is working that night. Oh, and their Zombie is one of the best in California.

Rum barrel - strong! A night ender.

Bri took care of us on a Sunday afternoon. Incredible drinks and service. Only bar in the area that uses quality ingredients. The navy grog is 10/10, very complex and layered.

She was very attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and overall fantastic. We tried the seasonal corn appetizer. It was delicious. For my entree, I had the garlic chili shrimp (No pineapples and mild spice level). It came with coconut rice and that was not a match. I swapped the rice for regular. They were very accomodating to all my requests. My eye had the pork bowl (I think that's what it is called). The pork had a smokey taste. She stated it was delicious. We had some wings that they lit tableside. They were really good. For dessert, my wife had the pineapple dole whip with a shot of brandy. I received a birthday song along with Tiramisu cake. I did not eat the cake, but everyone said it was good. My wife had a regular mai tai and I had the ultimate. Both were delicious. I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. But as time went on and people change, they kind of disappeared, but this one popped up. And I'm so glad it did because it brought back fond memories of what it used to be. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside. When we walked outside, there was like a 10 foot tiki head out there and it was a flash throwback to the old days. It was so much fun to see. The bar serves drinks that are long forgotten and most bars, and they served them with flair. Everybody from the minute I walked in the front door was awesome. They were smiling, attentive, helpful, and making sure that you got exactly what you wanted and the perfect experience. I even had a moment to talk to the owner and tell him how impressed I was by the staff and the fun that the place brought. I would say I will absolutely be glad to return to this place anytime. The quality that drinks is absolutely five star. The flavors were spot on. And the throwback atmosphere was perfect. I strongly recommended for anybody that wants to go out for an evening of fun and frolic. When they close the back where the outdoor seating is a little bit earlier than the regular bar hours it does get a bit crowded on the inside because so many people are there that you didn't see originally. But that didn't change it. We still had maximum fun.

It feels comfortable and if you're regular here feels like you're just going to something familiar. There's a backyard area with seating as well. I came here with my brother and my sister-in-law for a drink after having dinner in the area. The people were friendly and helpful. We ordered a few of the tiki drinks. I got the banana hammock, lol. It was tasty and refreshing. Overall, great spot, and I hope to return in the near future. Parking on the street wasn't too hard to find. We parked about a block away in the residential area.
