The staff is super friendly and very nice and super helpful, so I can't say anything bad about that at all. They have a main room and a back room, and these are filled with vinyls, so if you can't find what you want here, then you may want to check another place in the facility. If you want some CDs, you can probably find those as well. Overall, I've been coming back for years, so obviously it's a good experience, so I have no complaints.

I hadn't even played a CD since about 2010, so it was finally the time to rid myself of the few hundred CDs that had been in storage for all of these years. Wuxtry Records is a quirky looking music store that looked like it specialized in selling used CDs and vinyl records. I had called the store asking one of the employees about them buying my CD collection, but he couldn't commit to anything until he saw the condition of the CDs and their genres. He explained that he would not buy CDs if they already had enough inventory for that title, but would consider buying rock CDs. I had a lot of those! Parking was easy on the weekday that I went, and I didn't have any trouble finding a space in the free parking lot that is shared by all of the retail stores in the shopping center. I brought in about 200 CDs to the front counter and was told to come back in about an hour while they went through all of the CDs and determined which ones they were going to buy. During my wait, I just browsed in the store. There were lots of CD titles and groups that I have never heard of, and lots of familiar ones too, and they all looked in great condition. And there was a lot of quirkiness! In the end, there were about 40 CDs that I was not able to sell to Wuxtry Records. This was fair to me and was a good experience. I didn't receive anywhere near the money that I spent to get these CDs, but my goal was to get something out of the CDs that I knew I wasn't every going to play again.

In fact, my granddaughter left her class novel at school one day. She needed to read some chapters that night in preparation for a quiz. Believe it or not, Janet (who works at the store and lives nearby) delivered the book I purchased over the phone directly to her house because we could not make it to the store by 7. We were tied up at soccer practice. When I brought my graddaughter home, the book was waiting for her! She was one relieved 4th grader. We will be back for more books in the future. Love this bookstore, and I can't wait to meet Janet in person.

Glad to hear that there are others on here that have had similar episodes with this place as I have. First off, what trade credit??? It's a horrible ripoff! I'm an Atlanta native and first went to deal with these folks when they had a huge place on Buford Hwy. That was my first brush with the rude, closed-minded management. Then, here recently I was convinced by a friend of mine to give them another chance because of the great selection of used CD's and DVD's. Well, just like Bevan S. of Decatur mentioned: Mention anything to do with sex or erotica and to them it's all filth! Years ago I had come in to ask if they carried a certain magazine that was a very new , but mainstream gay publication. It was OUT magazine and was just starting up. When I told the manager what I was looking for he asked what type of magazine it was, he all but threw me out of his store when I said it was a gay publication. I said then that I would never patronize the establishment again. Well the friend talked me into it and Surprise, Surprise! Went in today and once again caught attitude coming from management with their slanted 'moral judgements'. As far as I'm concerned they're a bunch of creeps! I thought this was America, not Communist China! Wake up people this is the 21st Century! We're here, we're queer and we're not going ANYWHERE!!!! read more

There ought to be a rating system for some of the useless whiners who post here, who like to criticize businesses for not providing services they've never claimed to provide. But I digress. The Book Nook has been around long enough to know what they're doing, which is provide decent-quality used books, etc. at fair prices. They're not here to pay you eBay auction prices on your used vinyl, or special-order books, or do your shopping for you. Independent businesses have to keep overhead (that means employee costs, for you non-business types) low in order to make a profit, so they can't hire someone to take you by the hand and escort you around the store, bake you cupcakes, inquire after the health of your family, and whatever else it is you expect busy working grownups to do for you. But guess what? They're also not going to do that over at the corporate Big Box cavern that's so popular with the gamers. The Book Nook, on the other hand, WILL make you a fair offer on good quality merchandise and give you a real reason to come back. For you precious Big Spenders who have to be complimented and given foot rubs to make you part with a two dollar bill, might I suggest that you actually work in retail for a month or two before yelping too bitterly? I have a love-hate relationship with this store. On the one hand, they have a great selection of comic trades and back issues. On the other hand, the owner- when he is present- insists on loudly speaking endlessly about his personal politics. In fact, he is the reason I don't spend as much money as I otherwise would at this store. Whenever he is there he sits on the counter loudly droning on and on and on about his personal politics. Endlessly and loudly. To the point where you can hear him no matter where you go in the store. On top of that, he is insulting to anyone who disagrees with him (not that many people speak up because that would mean actually engaging with him). I have historically walked right back out if I see him in the store without spending any money. It has now reached a point where I wonder why I spend any money there at all. Everyone's politics are their own. However, perhaps a business owner should think about whether or not he wants to alienate people who are there to give him money. And seriously, stop with the stamping paperback books and running markers over dollar comics. read more

The Book Nook is a treasure trove for anyone looking to nerd out. This store is a one-stop shop for comic books, books, vinyls, CDs, VHS, cassettes, and even 8-track tapes. It has so much to offer that you could easily spend hours exploring. My main mission was to look for vinyl records since I recently purchased a record player. Fun fact: I used to live on North Druid Hills years ago and always passed by the Book Nook, but it took me about 10 years to finally visit. The service was friendly, with the staff giving you plenty of space to shop without hovering. The prices were very reasonable, and I was able to find a great selection of records at a great price. Emory/outside Decatur hangout. Book Nook has disorganized bookshelves. Far-Out and favorable enough staff members, who will not normally walk you back to help you locate the name you are looking for, but who will not break you for spending almost a whole day reading in the stacks, either. Staff speak behind the counter will be politically conservative of all things. I 've better chance with used music, classic phonograph record, and cds, which are, relatively, much better arranged. read more

Excellent shop. I only went there for the very first time in over a year and was extremely happy about how they have cleaned up and arranged the ledges. There are not lots of novels in the flooring anymore, and it seems like they have purged a lot of older, worn out titles. It is still an excellent spot to hang out for an afternoon. Book Nook is everything you could ask for in a bookstore - floors of books organized by genre, category, author. You can spend here hours here and still won't be bored.
