Right when I walked in the gal at the desk was so friendly asked if we'd been in before which we hadn't and told us how their book program works and how much each book was. They have a big selection of kids books, romance, mystery, and general fiction. I didn't head over to the other side of the store with all the non-fiction biographies history and other types. The store is set up very nice neat and clean. We ended up getting a bunch of kids books and because we joined their trade in program each hardback was two dollars and every softback book was a dollar. Definitely gonna be coming to this bookstore a lot. read more

Today was my second time here and I know we will come back often. What a great local shop! I have a toddler who loves books as much as I do and we have an enormous library for her. I typically would always buy new books but heard about a sale here and checked it out earlier this year...one dollar for four kids' books; we came home with eight total. Many of the books we purchased were similar to ones on her Amazon wish list for a minimum of five dollars apiece and we got them for $.25 each -- wow!! Today we brought three books to trade in (easy process) which resulted in a trade of three children's books, including one that is on Amazon for $10 (see pictured) and is in excellent condition. Great selection of books and friendly staff! I'm not sure what else to say since it's books, but if you share the same passion of used and old books like I do, then you'll love it here. A lot of the used books are in fantastic shape and condition despite its age. I'm from out of town, but if I lived around town I would be coming here everyday. IMO, the prices are reasonable and I don't have a problem with it. I would have bought more books if I had more room in my carry on bag. Support local! Especially your local bookstores! read more

Under new ownership again for the third time. New owners are nice, although the prices are not small store prices, but I suppose this is supposed to be a place you come to for the experience not the prices. On a scale of 1 to 10 , 10 being most expensive for used books I would say they are an 8. Other than that, the only gripe I have is that now the new owners have some sort of incense or some other smelly air dispensing diffuser that will give you a headache if you are there longer than 5 min. So I don't go there anymore because of these things. Which is a bummer because I love to support local business , but with lofty prices and being so smelly, I just can't do it :/ read more

Absolute gem of a local bookstore!! The owner is extremely helpful and quick to respond to questions on social media. Prices are more than fair with many being quite cheap $2 and up! As someone who appreciates rare/old books there are a good number of those options available. Plus some rather new ones as well, so there is a wide variety for everyone. Sections are sorted well and it makes it easy to find what topic you're looking for with a great children's section to boot! I've noticed that the stock does rotate quite quickly and always seems rather different every time I'm in. Lastly they have a great trade in program for books you no longer need! Love me a good used bookstore. The more packed and claustrophobic the better. As someone who recently lost his entire book collection to a marauding wildfire (thanks California, you suck!) I'm looking to rebuild/replace my library. If a book is worth reading, it's worth owning. However, I doubt I'll ever replace what I lost as I'd rather buy/read new material. The prices were about why you'd expect in a used bookstore. I did find an old copy of a book I once owned. I'd never seen the cover before and suspected I was looking at a first edition. Sure enough it was! A nice start to my rebuild. My only complaint was the alphabetization was a bit cluttered making it hard to search for an author. Also a little jumbled on genera organization. "Classics" included novels and non-novels, which again made searching a little hard. All in all, it's pretty hard the mess up a used book store. Definitely will return as the library won't rebuild itself. read more

The place looks small from the outside as it's only 1 unit of strip mall but don't let that fool you the selection is wonderful and the name :"uncommon books" is very true as many of the rare books i've looked for can be found here.Some books are'nt in the best of shape and it crowded and at times hard to navigate but those are just little issues all in all this is the best book store in Coeur d Alene. read more
