I bought two books at $17.95 ea, but found others that interested me at around $24.95 ea. Not all books are sticker price labeled...on older books, they write a price in pencil inside book on front page! As a local (Wisconsin) writer, it's nice to find a bookstore that offers selected writings in an atmospheric way that big chain-stores just cannot duplicate!

As always we found pleasant service and nice atmosphere. It's always fun to pursue the books. We enjoyed our premium latte's and shared a Frank(Version of the Ruben Sandwich) and a bowl of tomato soup; all were very good. The only thing I had an issue with was the price of the sandwich, which was a bit high at $16 for the relatively small size. The merchandise is equal parts books and products from local artists (and local beekeepers and Kombucha brewers!).I purchased a used book that I'd been wanting (for $2!), a jar of local honey, and spent some time speaking with the charming owner about the history of the building. It's a former bank, and the mystery section is located in the bank vault. Look a little closer at a counter where books are displayed - that's bullet proof glass and gun portals from another era. The Book Teller is definitely worth a visit, even if you're not much of a shopper - but if you are a shopper, you will love the handmade jewelry and textile products found here at very reasonable prices.

The shop is in an old bank building, and the building's features - teller wall and vault - are in use. The shop is organized well and beautiful, and is a comfortable place to visit. There is a children's section, and there is interesting availability in other genre's, considering the size of the store. Most of all, I think I appreciate the genuine community focus and the non-pretentious feel of interacting with others. I understand that they host community gatherings, which I hope to experience soon. Otherwise, I will be there on the next day that I'm ready to read something new and have no idea what it should be.

The smell of vintage and well-loved books is a magical thing. Most of the books I picked up were reasonably price and in great condition. The owner (maybe?) was welcoming, helpful, and ready to answer questions about the shop (and cats). Such a quaint and beautiful environment to wander about and find a book (or more) that supports the community. Also, support local, independent bookshops. So much of a recommend!

At checkout I asked if they have a rewards program which they do not however right now they have a summer reading program promo (for adults even!) which is super neat! So make sure to ask about this and find a new book to read. I'm kicking off my summer reading from their LGBTQ display they had set up. Wolfsong - it's really good one day in and already 100 pages through it! It's well written and just keeps leaving unanswered questions which is why I can't put it down currently! Also the book itself is stunning.
