I absolutely admire this place! I'm all about reduce, reuse, recycle especially when it comes to clothing. I'm not too much on the consignment side, although I did hear the owner, Alba was picky. I brought some items and Alba took like 7 things and I got a credit for $30. So that worked out for me as my first time. My experience in the shop is always pleasant. Alba asks when you walk in if "you're looking for something particular?" Or "have you been here before?" Which I think is super kind and welcoming. She knows what she has in the store so you can just say "hey do you have any body suits?" She will let you know yes or no and if she does she'll tell ya where to look so you don't have to waste your time if you're literally in there looking for a specific item. Also, pricing is dirt cheap makes me feel like I am thefting from the place when I check out! Get ready for a nice story. Sitting? Feet up? Drinking something warm? OK (cracks knuckles): I really missed this place since I moved from Hatfield to Philly. The owner was such a class act and I got great clothes for a 'song'. Well, today SHE got the songs. I came in out of the cold with a wait for the train (Septa does NOT get 5 stars) b/c the nearby station was closed by 4 PM. I found a colorful $5 tie, but didn't want to spend the $10 card minimum and had no cash. She was going to trust me til next time, in itself rather generous, then remembered I'm a musician and asked if I had a CD. I did, and thought it would be an exchange for the tie. West Main Consignment is the first thing I hit when I get back from FL every summer these past 5 years. I discovered this shop quite by accident having had to take the train to Lansdale to see my sister. I have no idea what any of these people are talking about, who gave unfavorable reviews. I never leave empty handed. I may be "mature," but I'm no frumpy old maid, and my Levi's jeans are Levi's jeans are Levi's jeans - in MY size (18W) that still had the tags, and I bought them for $5. That's not a lucky coincidence; These garments are quality and priced to sell. Working women, younger women on a tight budget, even men can find something from shoes to collectible, vintage home decor. It's all priced reasonably, and since when is discretion a bad thing? You won't find small tears you wish you'd seen before you made your "all sales final" at another shop with a less discerning eye (or business ethic.) This shop takes only the best and doesn't carry any junk. Check out the jewelry case when you're there. I picked up a real Silpada sterling silver ring that was upwards of $200 in catalog for $35. Try finding one of those on eBay for that price! (The ring I bought starts at $80 on eBay.) Furs, handbags, formals, and a pretty impressive display of high end (and not high end) shoes in great condition. In the past, I've bought Terry Lewis & Lands End wool coats for less than $40 a piece. Talbots, Loft, Gap, Dennis Basso, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Coach... I could go on and on. This shop has saved me thousands of dollars since I first arrived 5 years ago. Ample, free parking in a safe part of town. If you're handicapped, best to walk around to the front because there are stairs in the entrance by the rear parking lot. Don't believe the sour grapes ~ see for yourself. Best Consignment in the Area ! This is a great shop, everything is clean and well displayed. The lady that owns the shop is really nice. We've been dropping stuff here to sell for over 10 years she's always done a great job for us. Sometimes we even buy something while we are there, never been disappointed. I do enjoy shopping here. Prices are very consistent with other consignment shops, and I almost always find something beautiful that I can't live without. I agree that the owner is very picky about consignments, and was actually extremely rude to me last time I was in there. The quality: All clothes were like new. No visible signs of wear. The selection: Mature selection, geared toward women 35+ with a few younger items every now and then. Stock included a huge rack of exclusively Chico's clothes. Saw some Cold Water Creek as well. There was one featured rack with higher-end brands like J Brand jeans, Michael Michael Kors (his department store label), J. crew, and Greylin (a trendy brand found at Nordstrom, Piperlime). The shoe selection left a bit to be desired, but seems a good place for basic dress shoes. One exception: a pair of eggplant-purple suede Steve Madden pointed-toe pumps, perfect for a night out. The atmosphere: Organized, bright, and quiet. Items purchased: a Nicole by Nicole Miller (her JC Penney label) bright printed dress in size XL that I plan to wear as a beach kaftan. Due to a winter clearance they were having, the dress was 50% off, and I paid less than $10. Overall: Had a pleasant visit to the store in January 2014, all merchandise in great condition, mostly a bit mature for my tastes, but will likely stop in again next season to hunt for more hidden treasures. read more

Staff took COVID precautions seriously. All were wearing masks and the number of people in the store was monitored. They set up an area to sanitized clothes after trying them on and I was offered hand sanitizer after I paid. I got an amazing deal on a Coach purse and Lululemon leggings. I will be back to support this small business. Amazon and big box stores are taking over. Do your part and shop local, recycle, & save some $. read more

I came here due to a family friend of mine selling his clothes and his families clothes at the consignment l.By the owner I was treated like a complete idiot and barely got the chance to even finish a sentence.To my understanding staff was always very nice.I would never recommend anyone to go there.The treatment is not worth it.There other consignment stores with nicer owners that I have met! read more

Something about this place just isn't right. When you get your money back for the items that sold, there is no itemized statement of what sold for how much. The owner told me everything I donated sold (minus one wallet) and I donated about ten items. The amount of money I received doesn't seem appropriate for ten items. If you ask the owner about it, she just starts rambling about being so busy and generally, just makes excuses and doesn't answer the question. I don't think I will bother doing business with this store again. read more

I have gone there is the past and had a good experience but recently I went in with a large amount of nice spring/summer clothing. Many items still had tags on them and some Lilly Pulitzer things as well. The owner said "I can tell I don't want any of these things, without even looking at any of the items - not one, she was rude and abrupt" and I carted all the things out the door and took them to a thrift store to benefit abused women. I know many of the items were new and never worn and trendy but she couldn't be bothered looking at them. She has gotten old, tired and cranky. The store has gotten crowded and messy and not as nice as it use to be. Maybe she is just tired of it and needs to retire from the business. I will not be going back or recommending the shop to anyone. read more

Horrible. Don't ever bring your belongings here and expect to get what they are worth. I have done buisness with this lady many many times (my mistake), and she is extremely shady. She will try to fast talk you in her condescending snooty voice, and sell your stuff and give whatever dollar amount she wants. The last experience I had with her, I dropped off a BRAND NEW Pandora bracelet, along with two BRAND NEW charms. These were given to me as a gift and its not really my thing so I decided to sell them. Janice takes them, tells me she is going to see how much they are selling for on Ebay and get back to me. I dont hear anything for about 3 weeks, I call her, and the other lady at the store tells me she has $12.50 for me!! HUH?!?! Now, I understand that I wasnt going to get full price for this item but, $12.50?? I ask to talk to Janice(the owner), I explain to her how ridiculous this is and all she can say is "Sorry". I tell her I will be up to the store to talk to her in person, I go there, she is not there, I leave a message for her to please contact me, but she doesnt. A few days later I get a check in the mail for $28.00. HUH?!?! This is just one of my shady experiences with this place, while it is convenient for busy people like me to just drop off items and pick up money when you are available, don't do it, you will be getting ripped off in the mean time!! read more

I had just lost my job and while browsing in this establishment I picked up a brochure on consigning in this shop. I thought WOW this is a no brainer. Quick easy money while I was out of work. Janice Tindall ( the owner ) was overly friendly and talked up the whole concept of consigning with her. I came back with my precious items that I hated to part with but I had no choice financially. Her personality took a complete 360. She was nasty and unappreciative that we were working together. When I returned the situation wasn't adding up. Ms Tindall wrote up an itemized list of items that I brought. Mind you I had left in her possession Brighton Jewelry, Fossil items, a Lucky handbag, Banana Republic jewelry etc... As you can see high end items. I should of went with my gut when Ms Tindall could not give me an itemized dollar amount on my items that I was consigning. From time to time I went in to see how my merchandise was moving. She cut me a check but it just wasn't adding up. She paid me for some items and others she didn't. When I confronted her she got all flustered she told me I didn't know what I was talking about. That I asked too many questions. She told me to move aside that she had customers to take care of. I requested that she review my list of consigned items. She wanted nothing to do with me. It was soon becoming a no win situation. Unfortunately, when you consign with her she keeps accessories longer. I was forced to come back. I noticed at that time that more items that I consigned were sold. Keeping that in mind when I returned to collect a check or the return of my items that didn't sell. With great attitude she acts like she doesn't know you. She handed me a messenger bag that didn't sell. Along with a very small check? Inside the bag was an item that DIDN'T even belong to me? Interesting. A shirt of mine that had a huge hole in it. Expecting to find items that I know I didn't get paid for in the paid. They weren't there? At this point I was not playing this woman's game. She lied thru her teeth and wasn't even good at it. We exchanged works and she tried to tell me that I asked too many questions. While I still had time left on my contract she couldn't even tell me face to face that she was terminating our contract. She was all flustered when I told her that I wanted a breakdown of what she sold of mine. She quickly said that had you paid me $15.00 upfront I could of done that? Who is she fooling. Upon, re-reading her contract no where does it say that. She tried to have an answer for everything but I wasn't believing any of it. When I told her that she was a rip off artist she stated " this is America". I felt sick to my stomach. She needs to remember where she started her business in Lansdale. It certainly left little to be desired. All I could say to this non classy rip off artist is that Karma will come to bite her. If taking advantage of innocent clients who are looking to pay a few bills instead of hers. Shame on Janice Tindall - Proprietor. I encourage anyone to think twice before supporting this woman's poor business habits. You are buying clothes that she literally stole from the public. You may want to think twice.
