Alongside popular brands, they also have lesser known candy brands too. One section of the store also souvenir items like KC apparels, magnets, stickers, key chains and other accessories. Whole store is mostly clean and organized. The store has some fascinating items like Dragon made out of gummy beans, toilet bowls filled with chocolate boxes and a Harry Porter wizard status. Prices are decent for a tourist area location. There was one associate in the store helping customers with products and checkouts.

One of the first stops that caught my husband's eye was the Candy Wizard. We found a couple of things to bring home. Two hanging plaques(to celebrate the year we were born and the year we got married, as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year). We also found a couple of booklets for those same years. Next time, we may stop in and pick up pieces for the next set of years that mean something special to us. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven with this shop. There is plenty to choose from here. From candy sticks, the current favorites out there today. The staff was very sweet and attentive during our visit as well.

They have all sorts of meat from beef to chicken and even sometimes rabbit. They also have eggs of different varieties including duck and turkey. They also have cheeses and charcuterie items. They have lots of pickled items. And even premade meals like pot pies, breakfast burritos, mac & cheese, and the last time I was in a stroganoff. In addition to food, they also have a few drink options like bottles of wine and beer. They even have dog food and dog treats. The store itself is decent sized. There's plenty of space for a few people to move around. They do have a large deli counter and a few coolers full of goodness. Service is always excellent. They are always helpful and can even offer suggestions if you don't know what to make with what. One of my go-tos are any one of their sausages. They have traditional ones plus a few fun ones. And if you watch their social media, they'll usually tell you when they have a limited addition one. The Rieger whiskey and apple sausage is one of my favorites. They also have a chicken curry sausage, which is excellent and has so much curry flavor. On my last visit I noticed that they have mac & cheese that you can take to go. They have a few different varieties, but I went with one with bacon because their bacon is always fantastic. It was a really good side. I slapped it on the grill to warm it up and it was delicious. Highly recommend. If you are in the city market area definitely stop in and check out what they have.

I needed a bit of sugar and this did the trick! You guys, the Boston Crème Bomb *is* the bomb! I LOVE Boston creme anything. This was SO good. The chocolate ganache on the outside was the perfect thickness. The Bavarian cream as heavenly on the inside!!!! And the white cake was perfect. I was so happy with my choice--I chose wisely! And with Italians, depending on the region your family is from, the sauce can be completely different. Scimeca's sauce tastes just like my family's, which is saying a lot. Everything here is delightful--from the muffaletta and olive salad to the meatball sub and honestly every sub on the menu. And if you love eggplant, definitely try it -- it was absolutely delightful. On nights when I don't feel like cooking, their frozen, prepared Italian steaks are a lifesaver. You can take them home and make a comforting meal right in your own kitchen. I'm so happy Scimeca's opened in North Kansas City. It's delicious, authentic, and truly feels like walking into my Nani's kitchen.
