Came on a Tuesday night and got broaster fried chicken for $8. What a deal! It was tender and tasty and above average for bar food. Service was attentive, the patrons are friendly, and there is cornhole and beach volleyball outside. They have live music on the weekends, too. There is not a lot of space inside, so more folks enjoy eating outside it would appear. They have an average selection on drinks on hand. The food was surprisingly amazing! The bartender was so sweet, personable and quick! She made an amazing pineapple margarita! I had a turkey sandwich and my partner had some type of burger that had blue cheese crumbles. His Bloody Mary was great also! I loved the pickled vegetables that came with the drink! Bootleggers is a great spot for great food. The restaurant was fairly full but the service was rather quick and the food was nice and hot. I tried the fried mushrooms and road king burger. The mushrooms were delicious and the dipping sauce was creamy and flavorful. The burger was huge, loaded with tender sautéed mushrooms, and accompanied by very tasty fries. Service was very friendly. Typical dive bar atmosphere, limited parking, but decent menu selection. I tried the mega bloody Mary, and it was a fun experience - cheese, veggies, pickled cucumber and green beans, fried mushrooms, cheese curds, mozzarella stick, ravioli, gyoza, chicken wing and mini taco. I couldn't finish everything. Hubby got mozzarella sticks and the booty burger with tots. The mozzarella sticks were burnt, but I think that was an unfortunate byproduct of them trying to fry the garnishes for several bloodies and those at the same time. What a fun place to go hang out on a Friday night! Lots of friendly people, a very hardworking staff throughout, and some terrific food and beverage make this a great time in a casual - dare I say backwater environment. The appetizers are five stars, no question. Breaded mushrooms were juicy and the cheese curds were crispy and gooey and perfect. The burgers were fine - solid sandwiches but nowhere near the level of the apps - and the $5 Friday night long islands were potent and perfect. A big note: Come to relax. If you're thinking this is going to be a place clicking like a big box brick and mortar - well that's just not the pace here. They keep a tight team running it, so when it's full you'll just need to be patient - and they're clear about that as you walk in.
