Fairmont Shores has a lot going for it. The atmosphere is great, the service is pleasant, and the food itself tastes good. The chicken shishkabob I ordered was seasoned well, the vegetables were grilled nicely, and the baked potato was fine. That said, the portion-to-price ratio on this particular dish was really hard to swallow. For $25, I expected a much more substantial plate. One skewer with literally four pieces of chicken and a potato on it is pretty ridiculous at that price point. Typically, shishkabobs are served in pairs to begin with, so four cubes of chicken on a stick for $25 is excessive. And that was on "Special". The food was good, but the value just wasn't there. I'll still come back because the place has a nice feel; the staff are friendky, and the meal wasn't bad by any means, but I'd definitely order something else the next time unless the portion size on the shishkabob is adjusted. read more

Service was fantastic. Views from the upper deck are incredible! Great vantage point to watch a sunset!!!! I had a hickory burger with slaw. Awesome. My wife ordered a cheeseburger that wound up being a little bit undercooked. My daughter ordered a Southwest salad that was missing black beans and avocado. When we asked the waitress to inquire with the chef if that was normal, she came back and said yes. The Southwest wound up being salad, pita bread with a slice of some sort of cheese stuffed in it, pico in the salad and two tomato slices. Epic fail. The menu was fairly diverse but only had two seafood options. Fried pollock and fried shrimp. No fish tacos. No shrimp tacos. This place really does have a special location but needs some freshening up. The deck could use a power wash. The hand rail going up to the deck was broken at the top. I saw more than a few senior have an issue with it. Lots of potential to go to the next level here if the owner(s) are willing to take the initiative. read more

Great food and great location, right on Fox Lake, you can dock your boat or park your car. We came on Friday, it was near full, we sat outside, sun was pretty strong. We ordered all we can eat fish fry, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and jalepeno burgers. Food was delivered late, had to wait almost 45 min, service was good after that and we pack us some food probably another meal. Bill was $87 including two persons. read more

If you can imagine a Wisconsin Supper Club (good food all around) married to a classic sports bar (TVs and good drinks with decent pours) right on a nice-sized lake, you'll get an idea of what Fairmont Shores is like. The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the crowded and noisy large single room with a square bar dominating the center, all with a pleasant welcoming neighborhood feel. This restaurant had unbeatable ambiance: inside with a wall of windows looking out over Fox Lake with the sun setting in the evening, and outside with a lakeside patio deck available when the weather co-operates. We started with cocktails and beer, all nicely brought off - routinely 4 star stuff. For appetizers we tried the Mozzarella Sticks (5 star cheese sticks nicely breaded and done just enough to get the cheese softened) and the Bruschetta (a 4 star offering with a nice baguette with all the toppings and a nice balsamic glaze). For mains, and since we were here on Friday: two of our party had the all-you-can-eat fish fry with a choice of fish (our selection was 4 star stuff, nicely fried white fish); another in our party had the grilled salmon (a nice 3 star offering of salmon - a hair overdone - served with hushpuppies, and fries or a baked potato): and what the last in our party had was probably a wrap (?). Service was on point: they had lots of servers, quick food preparation and delivery from the kitchen, and an active full-service bar. You may want to make reservations so you are not disappointed ... this place gets crowded fast, especially on weekends. And don't forget the standouts here: all-you-can eat Fish Fry Fridays, and Sunday Brunch from Easter to Labor Day. If you are out this way, you have to give this place a try. read more

We still stop in to Fairmont Shores when we can. They're a really consistent restaurant in the area when it comes to food, drinks, and service. I also think they're one of the cleaner restaurants that's following proper COVID precautions. On our most recent visit, our server, Rhonda, was fantastic. She was quick and kind. To drink, they had a limeade cocktail as a special that I ordered. It was nice, refreshing, and not too sweet. They also had wines and bottled beer if that's more of your thing. To eat, we ordered the nachos, bruschetta, wings, and chicken sandwich. If you're brave, try their nuclear sauce on the wings. It's spicy but oh-so-good! Despite the nachos coming with a hair in it, they were incredibly apologetic and offered to remake it or order something else instead. A manager and someone from the kitchen (not sure if they were a kitchen chef or manager) came out to apologize and check on us. I'm always very understanding when mistakes happen, but I appreciate the staff making sure we were taken care of. read more

The food was good as well as ambience. But our Service was so slow with only two tables on the patio. It took 40 minutes to bring out bruschetta which I've never seen take a long time. Its a shame as their food is quite good when the bruschetta isn't soggy from sitting in the window. read more

I want to start out by saying that Fairmont Shores has really changed. There were only two servers for a Friday afternoon in summer on the chain? (7/18/25) that was their first mistake. We were seated outside at 12:35 ordered a 2 beers and appetizer and our sandwiches. Well the fried cauliflower took about 25 minutes and didn't come out hot. The server we had was also making cocktails besides waiting on patrons. As we saw people who came in after were getting food before us. Asking the other server to check on our order, she told us they got so busy and food was coming out. Needless to say that ordeal took about an hour. We should have walked out just paying for the beers and appetizer. We were so hungry we ate our sandwiches and fries were cold turkey burger was thin. It really was a terrible lunch. The owner Patty didn't seem to concerned. She should have been making the drinks and let her waitress do the outside tables. Again we should have spent our money elsewhere. In which we could have gotten a few meals for what we spent at Fairmont Shores. Warning don't go on a beautiful Friday for lunch here. I really think the owner should have compensated us for waiting over an hour for sandwiches, she should have ate the sandwiches. Only giving them 2 stars, that is for the view on water and weather. read more

Have been here several times by boat. I enjoy the fish fry and several other items on the menu but each time the service has been worse and it was never good for any visit. My last visit was indeed my last unfortunately, I consider myself very patient and understanding. Waited 2 hours 15 minutes from time of order for our meals last Friday. After 90 minutes we decided to ask but no notification pro actively to our group. Another 15 minutes later they tell us no hush puppies and we're not gonna change anything at that point. Mind you at this point the restaurant was past closing time and empty but we were still waiting. 30 minutes later we scarfed our food down which somehow was luke warm but good and headed out for our night of activities although way later then planned. Still tipped 20% for our $150 bill to not be a jerk but obviously it wasn't deserved. read more

My husband and I have been here a few times and I must say this place is pretty welcoming, staff is super friendly and make you feel welcomed. Drinks are good, full bar, prices are decent, food is great with the exception of I was disappointed with my sweet potato fries and they came out burned so I could not taste them/crunchy and seemed to be the frozen kind, anyhow sandwich was good. We also heard about their breakfast/brunch from 9-1 on Sundays which is a buffet with all you can eat, they have just about everything. Very good breakfast which we enjoyed, juice and coffee included in the price. This place has a great lake view so if you have a boat around chain o lakes is a must stop unless you drive here.
