We did make it to the THPG. Upon walking in we noticed it only had high-pub tables. Not particularly an issue for adults but difficult for a child to sit comfortably without constantly swinging legs and squirming. We decided to move on to another more kid friendly place. The waitress was very accommodating when we informed her of our departure, even though she had already served us 5 waters. I tipped her $5.00 and went down the road. I've been to this establishment for years and now is the time for a review. Thirsty Horse was always accommodating, for any bike related activities, that our riding club has thrown in the past. From allowing us to have a band, to food and drink specials, they have always been a good partner for poker runs and the activities associated. With that said, I also go here for a some food and drinks. Bartenders are quick on their feet and the food is decent bar fair. This weekend, we also tried this new Numskul booze that is put out by the Rumchata people. When I tasted it, it reminded me of former vacations in Mexico and Florida, wrapped up in a glass. Absolutely LOVE this place!!!! Bartender is always amazing. My wife and I watched her serve the entire bar food and drinks during a pool night and everyone was happy. She didn't miss a beat!! We brought our 3 girls and no one even cared. The food is great bar food!!! I had the chicken philly and my wife had the cheeseburger and we both agreed that they were amazing! The staff working tonight were good, they were attentive and informative. When one of the service staff was unable to make right back to the table they let us know. The food is typical bar quality but expensive! For our party of 4 it was $67 for an appetizer, 4 sandwiches with cheese and waffle fries. The drink prices are very reasonable; coke with rum was $3.50. Lemonade with vodka was more expensive at $4.25 as the lemonade had an unknown upcharge. This place sits on the Cheesy side of the "Cheddar Curtain" (AKA: The Wisconsin side of the Illinois/Wisconsin border). As such, the customers and staff are a mix of characters from both states. Surprisingly, everyone seems to get along harmoniously. I stopped in recently and had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was excellent. They also have a nice selection of beer that you can't get across the street, in Illinois. This place was gutted and remodeled a few years back. I guess I'd describe the decor as "Industrial Northwoods" (lots of diamond steel plate and knotty pine). The place might be a bit too bright and loud for some, but others would disagree. My recommendation to the owners: don't change a thing. read more

The bartender Heather was super rude to me and my friends and carded us all twice just because we look young, and the second time she carded us she barged in the bathroom when my friend had her pants down. when she took our drink orders she had an attitude and instead of smiling and being nice she just would say "what do you want" in a stern angry face. We have even brought our kids there during the day and they loved it! This was our first time here and it was the suggestion from a friend from out of town that we meet there for lunch. Otherwise we never would have even known this placed existed. It is off the beaten path but well worth the effort to find. We went on a Sunday at 11:00a and it was empty. I had a Hawk (?) burger which was a 1/3 pound hamburger with an Italian sausage patty on top of it. They grilled it to order after asked how I wanted it done. They cooked it exactly right and it was very good. I upgraded from chips to waffle fries which were also very good. My wife ordered a 12" Pizza which I had a slice of and it was excellent as well. A properly baked thin crust with a good sauce and just the right amount of cheese. I saw a comment that this place served standard bar food and was a little pricey. I would not agree. The food was far above "bar food" and the 3 of us ate for $40 which included a 12" pizza and soft drinks. We will definitely be back! read more

We had a group of about 10 in to watch the first packer game last nite with several children and a baby . The staff was very accommodating didn't make us feel like we shouldn't be in a bar with kids . All the food was great and large portions for the price . I will say the nachos needed more cheese . The service was on point all the ladies made there rounds, we were never left needing to look for them . Bar was very clean and nicely decorated not cluttered and tidy restrooms . this will be our spot next time we are here visiting family . read more

My Brother and I Went to thirsty horse Sunday..food was good but bartenders seemed to care more about chatting with each other than attending to the customers. afterwards getting ready to head out, another customers motorcycle fell on my brother's bike and damaged it. My brother's bike is bike is 2019 barley has 1500 miles on it. The tipped bike owner was told his bike fell over, he immediately accused me of tipping his bike over and his drunk "pal" was looking start a fight, calling us both a$$hole$ and other such colorful language. The tipped bike owner and my brother settled it like gentlemen, but the drunk "pal" kept going on and on and was seriously looking for a punch drunk fight. it seems this place attracts "questionable" patrons who show up already drunk looking to flex those drunk muscles and have motor mouths. No place to bring the wife or kids. Next time I call the county sheriff and let them settle it. read more

Almost had a terrible night courtesy of the rudest bartender ever, thankfully the two other girls were super sweet! My friends & I had just come from a bonfire and I will admit I walked in with a Truly, which is not sold here (shame), and the bitch who "greeted" us ripped it out of my hands and proceeded to ask me what was wrong with me for bringing an outside drink in several times throughout the night. Listen, all you had to do was ask me to throw it out and I gladly would have. After she ripped the drink out of my hands she proceeded to ID us all before we even got two steps away from the door. After she carded us at the door, we all went to the bathroom together and she proceeded to open the door to ID us AGAIN while I had my pants down, literally barging into the bathroom while I was naked with the door open for everyone in the bar to see me. Thanks. Then the stupid bitch proceeded to call a MALE customer over to smell the bathroom because she said "it smells like something is burning in here". Well, when you come from a bonfire, you're bound to smell a little smokey. Then she proceeded to ask me again, "what could posses you to bring a drink like that into a bar?" On top of this she tried to kick us out of the bathroom because "other people need to use it too"--once I was done using it they were more than welcome to use it too. After she finally got out of our faces we tried to get drinks at the bar from different bartenders because we didn't want to tip her sorry ass, and THEN this bitch has the audacity to cut off the other bartenders to try and serve us.
