My mom was telling me about a restaurant in the area and took me here. When we walked in she realized it wasn't the same restaurant she had been thinking about but we stayed and decided to check it out anyways. The day we went they had brunch, it wasn't too busy. You could definitely tell it was the community spot, everyone knew each other and it was genuinely good vibes. At the time we went (was a bit ago), it took a while for the waitress to get to us, as they were also the bartender. We did order drinks as well as split the chicken biscuit sandwich which came with fruit. Overall the sandwich was good. I'd definitely like to check out more of the menu. Drinks were good a well. The restaurant overall is nice, casual/classy vibes. They do have a parking lot & street parking.

The vibe is on point. Live band playing classic R&B we all know. Service was a bit slow and the steak bites were a bit chewy but the collard green dip was phenomenal. I recommend the side of sautéed shrimp, they were packed with flavor.the dessert was also delicious with a nice crunch to it.

It was very quiet in the whole space, and service was still questionable. There was another patron at the bar that would ask if we needed anything and they relay it to our server. We ordered a meal that came with potatoes steak bites and green beans (photo not included) Once it came we had to call them back and inquire as there were no green beans on the plate. It was brought out. 5 green beans. 5. That was just wild to us. I got the fish and spaghetti. That was a new experience. I haven't had fried salmon before. I did think it was fried well and the spaghetti had flavor. I did miss some type of veggie on the meal though.

Stopped by The Camden Social on a beautiful hot Sunday and was thoroughly impressed. I started with the collard green dip, which was absolutely packed with flavor--rich, savory, and clearly made with care. Paired that with a couple of cocktails that were perfectly balanced--strong enough to feel, but smooth enough to enjoy slowly. What really sealed the experience was the cigar selection. Good quality, well-crafted cigars in a relaxed setting that made it easy to unwind. The whole place had a chill, laid-back vibe--great music, friendly service, and just the right energy for a summer evening. Definitely a gem in North Minneapolis. I'll be back.

The nightlight in Minneapolis is kinda flat but I found this place while searching for "R&B". I believe they just did a rebrand recently and I have high hopes for them! It was a bit tricky getting in as the entrance is the in the back of the building. It's a restaurant/bar inside and they sell cigars so I guess it's a cigar bar at times too. However, it was NOT smoked out. I was sat immediately because I booked a reservation. The DJ did well with the R&B mashups. I do wish it was more of a "lounge" feel. Most of the people danced at their tables. I wanted a little bit of a party feel. The bar tender made some really good drinks. I like the drink prices as well!

This place isn't far from me and a friend invited me the first time, and the wings were so good, I decided to go back. Plenty of free street parking and a small parking lot in the back. Was greeted immediately when I walked in. It was pretty busy so I decided to order to go at the bar. Not a huge restaurant, but very cozy feeling. Staff was very friendly and gave me water while i waited. Ordered a fish sandwich and some wings, both seasoned to perfection. I didn't get it this time, but the collard green dip was also amazing when I went. Definitely going to go back and try other things.

Second time around, I found myself at The Camden Social. I kicked things off with the Paloma Royale , a cocktail I This was my second visit to The Camden Social, and it had some solid highlights. I started with the Paloma Royale, smooth, refreshing, and well-balanced. The live performance by Jennifer Grimm & Joe Cruz added a fantastic energy to the space, making the vibe feel just right. Not much interaction with the staff as I sat at the bar, it was busy. Food-wise, I tried the fried catfish sandwich, which was just okay for me, but the fries were a pleasant surprise ,perfectly crispy and seasoned. Overall, it's Would I come back? Maybe for the drinks and live music. The food is hit or miss, but the vibe is worth checking out.

First time there today for brunch. Nice looking place. Drinks were ok. I had the peach Bellini and my fiance had the espresso martini. The food was average at best. The shrimp and grits were almost soupy. The beef bacon was good. The biscuit with honey butter was terrible. Half of the biscuit was hard. I believe they were made earlier and then microwaved. If so, bad decision. My fiance had the smoked salmon croquettes, they were ok, a little dry though.

My wife wanted to visit after seeing someone's tiktok so we decidedly to swing by on a weekend for lunch. Well unfortunately they were doing a brunch menu at the time we got there so we had to suffer through a delicious meal. Upon arrival we were wondering if we were in the right place as the outside does not reflect the beautiful interior's ambiance. The bartender, server, and host were all fantastic and super friendly. My wife ordered the steak bites and an espresso martini while I ordered the biscuits & gravy and a bloody mary. My wife said the espresso martini was the best she's ever had asked the bartender how this one was made(he revealed one of the ingredients not used in others she has had). The steak bites were great with grill marks and were succulent and perfectly seasoned. I thought the bloody was great, but could use more heat and the host came by with a tincture to spice it up(he made it in-house) while I wasn't blown away initially by the biscuits & gravy my wife pointed out it was made with beef instead of pork sausage which surprised me because it was super flavorful for beef gravy. Totally worth the stop and we will be going back for supper!

It's a real treat to have a classy place within walking distance of my home. Perhaps we should have walked since the parking lot was full for Sunday jazz brunch. Inside it was very festive with fairy lights seeming extra bright against the deep teal walls, and our friendly host in a red suit and hat added to the holiday spirit. We had to wait a few minutes for our table, but drinks arrived fairly promptly. Thank you fellow Yelpers who mentioned the Peach Bellini; it was delicious. Food took a bit longer; we heard they had a new cook today. My sons both got the sausage and biscuits and said they were tasty. I got the Camden Omelette because I am a sucker for anything with caramelized onions. Combined with the wonderfully gooey cheese and red peppers inside, it will likely be my brunch favorite. The crispy potatoes had a nice kick too. The bathroom was very elegant and sparkling clean. I forgot to ask the name of the band, but they did a great job with jazz instrumentals of holiday favorites. They also snuck in Happy Birthday! I am not sure if it was for me, that was our reason for dining out, but I think the rest of my party is grateful they didn't make too much fuss over it.

I would definitely recommend this as a good place to hang out for those looking for a classy place over North, especially on Sundays when they have jazz music along with their brunch, which my friend and I have experienced last weekend. I have been there twice so far, and experiences have been positive. The highlight is all the meat, from the fried chicken in the BLT to the catfish with grits, and even to the jumbo shrimps included in the brunch shrimp & grits dish. The wings were also seasoned very well on the outside, while retaining the juiciness inside. When my partner and I went there on Juneteenth for lunch, the food presentation was better (croquettes, catfish, fried chicken BLT, and the bread pudding), which was just my neutral observation. I didn't think that the shrimp & grits had enough grits, especially because it had a lot of shrimp, which contributed to me finishing the dish in 2 minutes. This may not be a problem for most people, though, as I have heard about more people elsewhere having issues with not having enough shrimp. Sometimes the arugula, which was more of a garnish already, seemed unnecessary, such as from the biscuits & gravy in the photo, one cab tell that even for garnish, they're just kind of there with no other purpose and didn't really contribute to the presentation, while on the smoked salmon croquettes, which looked like the arugula contributed to the appearance, the arugula seemed to be more useful. Comparatively, the food I had from lunch on Juneteenth was better than what I had for brunch last Sunday. I saw on another review that they have just hired a new cook. Not sure if that contributed to any of what I have mentioned, but just wanted to share. Regardless of such, I would still, like I said in the beginning, recommend this spot to all that wish to gather in a classy place over North in the Camden, Victory, or Lind-Bohanon neighborhood!

We came here for a quick drink before date night dinner. The drinks were strong and the dip was good. The service was okay but we felt a little forgotten about. Parking was a bit interesting because we had to park a block away and you have to enter through the back entrance. Overall it seemed like a good vibe.

I was able to snag a solo spot at the bar/chef's counter about a week in advance for a 7 pm weekday slot, and I'm so glad I listened. I'd never had Hmong food before coming to Minneapolis. It's plentiful here, but it's quickly become clear to me why Vinai is the "it" spot for a nicer Hmong dinner. The menu is vast and broken down by size of dish, which makes it easy to mix and match. Since I was solo and wanted to try as many things as possible, I opted for several smaller things. Pro tip: sitting at the chef's counter unlocks an additional "secret menu" of daily specials you can only order if you're sitting there. These seem like the best part of the menu, and I'm so grateful my friends pushed me to book the chef's counter specifically. What I ordered: - Severine (gin, vodka, white vermouth, lime leaf): A martini riff with a Hmong twist. Really light but interesting. - Curry rice ball (garlic cream cheese and blue crab in a fried ball): Tasty but nothing that blew me away. I'd skip on a future visit. - Grilled shrimp (3 whole head-on grilled prawns topped with green mango and jicama salad, served with purple sticky rice): This was off the secret menu and was unreal. Light, herbal, fresh. Drool-worthy. - Shrimp-pork toast (prawn mixture on Texas toast with apricot chili): So tasty, punchy flavors. My waitress kindly let me get a half order because I was getting full but really wanted to try this AND the fried rice. - Crabby fried rice (generously topped fried rice with blue crab): Half of this became lunch for the next day. - White rabbit candy ice cream scoop topped with olive oil and sea salt: Perfect end to an indulgent, incredible meal. The food here is insanely flavorful, and it's such a fun vibe; even on a Tuesday night, it filled up pretty quickly! I cannot recommend sitting at the bar more: you get really great service, you get to watch the chefs cook, AND you unlock the secret menu. My waitress was a highlight of the night, super helpful with every ordering decision and even brought me a complimentary half order of the shrimp-pork toast when I was torn between two crowd favorites trying to pick my last item. Truly above and beyond. Genuinely hoping work sends me back to Minneapolis soon, if only to eat here again!

I particularly enjoyed the carpaccio - all the toppings were incredibly light, fresh, and flavor...and then pair that with the purple sticky rice...DIVINE. Then we also really enjoyed the catfish lettuce wraps; I'm not usually a catfish lover, but they were so lightly breaded and with the noodles, sauce, and pickled veggies, they were delicious. We tried one of their cold noodle salads, which wasn't my fav. I also tried one of their curry crab rice balls, which was delicious. Overall, I can see why this place is on so many "top restaurants of the twin cities" lists!

I will say the music was good, and the bar overall looked clean. I approached the bar and asked for a dirty martini, specified my vodka preference and requested a lesser amount of the brine. I asked Brandy if another bartender could prepare the cocktail. Brandy found Dylan. Dylan was excellent. Dylan asked questions about my preference in vodka, how much brine I's like and asked if I wanted a vermouth rinse. Dylan measure the ingredients well and prepared the perfect cocktail. I was so impressed, I continued to order cocktails from Dylan for the remainder of the night and tipped him well. Later in the night, Brandy reapproached me and asked, "You don't trust me to make you a drink?" I explained to Brandy that once I have a bad experience with a bartender or server, I rather try a different server/bartender. It wasn't personal, but I refuse to pay for bad or mediocre service. The W was one of the host hotels for the official Prince Celebration 2022 festivities and the official welcome party was held at The Living Room. As to be expected, this party resulted in lots of people who came to dance, drink and to celebrate the 'Purple Yoda from Minnesota'. Surprisingly, this space was an excellent option for the party it has a dance floor area along with a large well-stocked bar which easily accommodated everyone's drink choice. Add to that, they had a few Purple drink specials for the night which were tasty. The bartenders did a great job in processing the nonstop drink orders and the servers were kept very busy throughout the night. When not used for parties, the ambiance is much more laid-back. As the name says, it has more of a 'living room' feel. In addition to the long bar, there are many sections of lounge seating (chars, couches, etc.) which are perfect for unwinding. Even after the party, the bar continued to be well-stocked; so well-stocked that a friend and I made a couple of discoveries while sipping one afternoon. To our surprise, they had a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle (10 year) along with a bottle of Weller Single Barrel. It's rare to find either at a bar; having both made for an amazing find. My friend and I quickly made it our mission to empty both bottles so we would each have a souvenir from The Living Room (we succeeded). Following the welcome party, the bartenders could have been a bit tired but that was far from the case, they were as energetic and welcoming as they were at the party. If interested in food to go with your adult beverage, they work directly with Manny's Steakhouse (also attached to The W) which means anything from appetizers to a complete steak dinner can be ordered and enjoyed while in The Living Room. On future trips, whether staying at The W or not, I will make a point to stop by The Living Room for an adult beverage or two.
