Store is crammed full of fanciful and useful kitchen, service, table/drink ware and hosting items…read moreand gifts. But let me tell you about the food and coffee. My husband and I arrived at our Airbnb ill prepared for the morning. Our kitchen was equipped with a Keurig and some K- cups. We are such that we will decline K-cups and forge on to find good coffee. Off to a rough start in Normal Town Athens we happened to walk past Athens Cooks with cafe tables filled with good looking food and happy patrons on the outside and the smell of coffee inside--Rich smelling coffee. My husband had a double espresso which was pulled perfectly and I had a beautiful cortado served in a delightful, little glass. The was perfect and well worth the wait as it was now basically lunch time. We shared a fabulous pastrami sandwich with pickled beets, Gouda, and arugula and a cup of the freshest, crispest, most flavorful watermelon gazpacho I have ever had. I think I might be ruined. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the inside is a very large shared dining table which seems to be a fun place to gather. The menu is inventive for lunch and the food is well prepared. I will return when back in Athens and highly recommend.

The one I was seeking was too heavy for me, but I wanted to buy local so I chose a different, more expensive one. The only color they had in store was baby blue, so I agreed to buy a red one from their warehouse, paying upfront. When I picked it up the salesperson (same one who sold it to me), handed me a shopping bag and sent me on my way. I trusted them and didn't look in the bag. Thirty minutes later, a $267 tea kettle is rattling around my trunk. No box, no paperwork, nothing. The salesperson handed me the bag without saying anything!! Any reputable business would let you know the situation, perhaps offer a discount, and give you a choice about whether you still wanted the item. I returned the item and will never be back again. When this business goes down, they will only have their own questionable business practices and poor customer service to blame. (btw, their breakfasts are super oily and disgusting)

The class was well organized and the chef, kitchen staff and volunteers were helpful and attentive. A very nice way to spend time meeting new people while having fun with your friends, family or solo. Unfortunately for us, the old adage "too many cooks in the kitchen" applies here. When class started we were told there would be plenty of food, but we definitely left hungry & a tad disappointed in what was served. We made a lot of shrimp, yet each person got 3. Our table was curious where they all went. The melon on the salad was not ripe, making it unpleasant to eat. The main entree, eggplant parm, was completely inedible by everyone. Apparently, the eggplant had been salted before the students arrived and then salted again during class. So no one had any main entree. The finale was a scoop of ice cream. This made us feel as though we got very little value considering the cost for the class as we certainly could have enjoyed a meal at a sit down restaurant for less & left full. Don't get me wrong, there is value in expertise and instruction, but not $200 worth. However, at the end of the day, it was a good time and we would like to try another class in the future.

Service is A-1at the REM location in Norcross. They have EVERYTHING at fair prices. If you can…read moredream of it, if you saw it in your favorite restaurant they have it, no cap. The only thing they don't sell is fresh baked bread to go with that restaurant attire on their shelves. Trash can, pizza peels, chef aprons, citrus juicers, refrigeration units, sauce pans, delicatessen hardware - the list is long. Did I say fair prices? Do yourself a favor, whether you are an individual, or a business drop into this location and see what you have been missing out on for all the years you were driving on Highway 85 north and blinked your way pass the exit. Honestly, you should refer to Alex H.'s review, as it is spot on. I am throwing in my two cents,…read morebecause this place deserves it. It is not fancy; nothing like your local Williams-Sonoma, Sur la Table, or Crate & Barrel. But you may find things that you can't at those places. I think my first time coming here was 4-5 years ago. I am an amateur home baker and cook and after reading through blogs and scouring different websites dedicated to food, I get ideas to make new dishes. Some of these require certain receptacles or tools that I don't readily have in my kitchen cabinets (which are brimming with stuff, because I have insufficient storage due to apartment living... wah, wah, wah). Restaurant Equipment Market (REM) has saved the day for me, especially on occasions when I could not stand to wait two days for Amazon Prime to deliver reasonably-priced kitchen goodies to my home. I have gotten cake pans, a meat tenderizer mallet, candy thermometer, an awesomely wide stainless prep bowl, and sweet bread knife from this place. Today I spotted pots and pans and cutting boards that will most likely end up in my kitchen at some point. Some of the things here are not very attractive, so if your aim is to buy kitchenware that combines form and function and you have the budget for it, by all means, go to the fancy places and acquire all that you need. This girl who is always looking for holes-in-the-wall will not shy away from getting more things to help me further my kitchen sorcery.

And your reviews mean nothing in comparison to what I have experienced first hand. This has to be one of the finest retail operations I've experienced. I have bought a couple of knives over the past few months from this location and they have NOT preformed well. I am a daily carrier that uses my knife for basically anything that is required in that moment (I am in the new construction residential industry), however, when I went in an hour ago, I explained HOW I was using these knives, as another one was not preforming. Tim Rowland overheard, stepped up, and showed me a gambit of wonderful knives, catered to my use and needs after listening. I understand that this gentleman is not a salesperson, but one who typically makes the knives in the back, but he took the time to show me around and demoed 8-10 different knifes to make sure I was making the right decision. While before I was price conscious (around $50-$60 budget), today he showed me what I needed to make sure my needs were met. I walked out spending $350 on a blade that I did not intend on buying. But I feel now I have the knife that I need. I will forever buy all of my blades from this shoppe.
