Do not shop here if you are buying a large order. While the store has a nice selection, there is no customer appreciation program or discounts for large purchases. We had a very large order today for an open bar at a wedding. When I have shopped at other much smaller local stores, I am typically offered rewards for a customer appreciation program or even a straight discount for a large party order. This was the most alcohol I have ever purchased due to it being for a wedding. I had to ask if they had a discount and then was told I had already received one. It was $6!!! Seriously...huge order and only a $6 discount? I will not be back. read more

This is a good store with a very good selection. There is always someone checking to see if you need help finding something. Last time I was in, I was wandering around for quite a while looking lost, when she came over to me. She asked if we were looking for something in particular and when I told her what we needed she was able to find it for me. I think her name was Paige, I'm not sure, but I got what I didn't think would be available. !Some things are not sold everywhere or are limited drops and they definitely deliver on that end as well. Very nice and clean store with many options, prices are in line with any other liquor store I've been to. The staff is always helpful when I come in. I just wish they were closer but that's not their fault, the city of Buford doesn't allow liquor stores. read more

Love the store and visit about 1 time a month in Conyers. It's very frustrating that every time if you ask if their rewards program is ready, you get told no. I'm all about rewards these days and if they don't get their rewards working, I may go elsewhere. read more

This store has everything. One of the best liquor stores I've been to in a long time. I haven't seen yamazaki on the shelf in any store for years but JAX has it. Their pricing for certain items are a little off. Some items higher than other stores and other items lower than other stores. No one came up to offer any help but that's fine. WOW...wish we had JAX here in Utah. This place is wonderful and truly a pleasure patronizing. I was on a trip to see family in Georgia and my brother took me there to do a little shopping for a birthday gift for his wife, and for some frozen cocktails for my wife back home in Utah. I found exactly the wine I was looking for and then started to look for my wife's Daily's "Bahama Mama" frozen cocktail packs. The gentleman who helped me took me over to the freezer, but that wasn't what I was looking for. But then, just over his shoulder, I found the motherlode! An entire rack full of Dailey's Bahama Mamas packs! I almost cleaned them out as I purchased 19. Woo-hoo! I got them back home and my wife was so tickled to see them after such a long 'dry spell'. I guess we can order these here in SLC through the State Liquor Store, but as the fine folks from AmBev told me, they are seasonal (May-Sept). So I guess I was lucky to have found these in such large quantities. Whew! Thanks, JAX! I'll be back to visit next time I'm in Buford! FIVE Stars for an awesome selection and good prices. read more

Love the selection at Jax but have been very disappointed by the service. I've been by twice in the last month looking for simple recommendations on craft IPA. Today at 6:30 on a Friday I asked if they had a beer guy to make a recommendation and instead of a polite 'no,sorry' I received a stupid comeback about my need a deep conversation about beer flavors. While I was at the beer cooler convinced I would not be back another employee came up and rescued me with a few quality recommendations. Sorry lads but Hometown Spirits has you smoked. read more

I finally made to this store after hearing mixed things from my fellow bourbon and whiskey drinkers. While their selections are prices are good, they confirmed an issue I've heard about. Their in-store and online inventory will say they have multiple bottles of a selection like Booker's, Smoke Wagon Straight, Smoke Wagon UNUF, or Michter's Toasted Barrel; when you ask the staff about these items, they say they're out. How is it that any retail store shows that they have hundreds of dollars of inventory but then denies it to a paying customer's face? A few weeks ago, a friend of mine witnessed an employee putting bourbon out, and then saw what he assumed was a manger telling the employee that "we don't put those bottles out, we keep them in the back for special customers." What's fair about this? Why is my $67.99, $109.99, or $31.99 not as good as some deemed "special" by the store owner/manager? At this rate, I'd rather pay more for something at another store and and not only feel appreciated, but know I'm respected. Do I expect an apology from the store owner/manager? No, I don't. Want to know why? Because someone else decided they could grease the wheels and always have their favorite bottle waiting--hidden in a stock room--whenever they please. Luckily, I have numerous friends that will tell me where I can buy these bottles all around the metro Atlanta area. read more

Have to agree somewhat with Keith D. from Flowery Branch - regarding the "service" factor. I've roamed around the store buying a case of wine many times and no one has ever ask if they can help. Had to track down a worker the other day to find out where the mixers were - they pointed to the row. Workers always seem busy rearranging the bottles on the shelf rather than helping customers. Prices are fair and it's close, so I go there. No ramp for rolling the cart to your car, and its a high curb. read more

You know I am just the opposite of a lot of the reviewers. I agree you can wander forever and not be asked "Can I help you?" BUT--If you ask, they walk you to the product. I have been coming to this store since it 1st open, and I would have to they the best customer service around. The manager is a local who had a very good restaurant here in Braselton. He has brought to town what we need here a liq. that cares about there customers. If they don't have it, they have order it in for us. All ways friendly, great staff, great prices. read more
