Here's what your wallet can get: $2 tacos or $8 tortas w your choice of the following meats (forgive my complete inability to evoke the simplest Spanish. Uh, pollo?): Steak, Chicken, pork, chorizo, cow tongue, roasted beef, chorizo+steak They are served on small corn tortillas w choice of red (hot!) or green sauce, diced onions, cilantro, and lime. Here's what you get: Really f-ing happy. And that is my "clean" description. My bf said that this was just like what he's eaten in Cancun. And he refers to Americanized Mexican food as "dog food" and "slop" haha, so he can attest that this is authentic. Straight forward and simple good food. My faves are the cow tongue (give it a chance, it's like tender steak) and the chorizo/steak combo. The tacos are small, so I can eat 4 at least. My bf could prob eat 5+. I kept turning down her offers to run over for a quick bite, until she pulled into the gas station lot one day on our way back from errands. No way to back out now. Being it winter at the moment I've been craving these dang things and losing my mind. They're small, and maybe a bit over priced if you're used to a quick Taco Bell fix but man are they well worth it. The abundance of fresh cilantro, hot sauce, and the absorbent shells get me every time. Love the Chorizo tacos, but I can't say I've tried anything other than that or Chicken. Depending on the day, there can be a bit of a wait, as they're often cooking up the meat right there and then, so it's fresh. The lady working is always smiling, and very kind. Their salsas have completely changed for the worse. The salsa roja resembled Taco Bell mild salsa, only worse. The green was only marginally better. The posole was cloying and the pork had an off flavor. I couldn't even find the beans in my bean tostadas. I hope they return to their authentic delicious cooking. I tried using the QR code on the outside of the truck which stated they were not taking mobile orders at the time. They were out of carnitas but didn't note that on the menu (not a big problem, I found other options). I ordered a carne asada and chorizo taco. The meat was a bit tough and the salsa wiped out my taste buds by the spice. It curbed my craving, but wasn't something I'd run back for. I expected fresh chips and guacamole but was met with the equivalent of chips from a store and a mixed up version of a grocery store guacamole with added pickled onions.
