5/5 for Mikes honesty and professionalism…read more I had a moisture problem behind a corner in my basement so I called Arid and spoke with Mike. He came out and took a look at let me know that my particular situation didn't require his services, but he did let me know exactly what needed to be done to solve the problem. I don't know anything about this sort of stuff so he could have easily taken advantage of my ignorance. If I ever do have another problem, Mike will be my first call, and I would recommend him to anyone else who asks.

Then he recommended a plumber (Mazzone) that would fix one facet of the whole issue. After the owner of the plumbing company came out and fixed what he needed to quickly and at a very reasonable price the worker from Arid came out to view the final phase of my problem. Patrick (the owner) gave me an appointment for his workers to install a sump pump. The first pictures are of the check valve portion of the project. The second picture is an extension installed by Mazzone to my check valve two feet below my basement floor. The third set of pictures are from the completed job by Arid. The workers from Arid were very polite and worked quickly and very effectively with a great deal of carefulness for my home and living spaces. I completely recommend both these companies for any waterproofing projects you may find that you need.

Six months later, we contacted them again, explaining we were ready to move forward, but that we didn't know what style we wanted. Steve said he'd been thinking about our home and had a unique idea in mind. We worked with him to design the concept, and Steve was wonderful the entire time. He took the time to explain to us how everything would come together, and to walk us through all of the material and design choices. He was also so friendly to all of us, including my mother in law and young children. He even had our little ones make hand prints and write their names with the date at the bottom as the final step! In the end, we LOVE our steps, and we get compliments from friends and neighbors all the time. We HIGHLY recommend Steve and his team at Exceptional Stone Products!

Steve was super easy to get hold of and gave me a fair price for exactly what I was looking for; the quality was so good that I went back to them for some more work. Will definitely hire them again in the future and would suggest that you do as well!

When Brooklyn flooded a month ago our basement was dry! Exterior waterproofing, dimple board with a French drain did the trick! Can't thank you guys enough for saving the integrity of our home.

Contacting Vulcan was based on the details shown on their website. My basement was showing signs of…read morewater infiltration at one vertical wall section. Vulcan's website also carried information pertaining to Xypex Crystalline Technology, a substance that, when mixed with water, permeates concrete block walls and seals them. I intended to request this type of work from Vulcan. I arranged a meeting with the first sales rep. I discussed Xypex in detail and indicated that I was not in the market for a French Drain. We proceeded into the basement where I showed the rep the area of water infiltration. The rep then proceeded to write up and present me with a cost proposal for a French Drain! I reminded him that I wanted Vulcan to utilize the Xypex technology. He told me that he had no knowledge of that procedure. I thanked him for his time as our meeting was over. I then contacted Vulcan a 2nd time, specifically requesting that a rep visit with me who possesses Xypex knowledge. I was told that would occur. The 2nd rep arrived as scheduled at which time I reviewed my desire to have Vulcan use Xypec Technology. We then went down into my basement. Surprisingly, the rep began to outline how a French Drain is installed! I then interrupted him by reminding him that we had just finished talking about Xypex several minutes ago! The rep then called his manager advising him that Xypex is also shown on Vulcan's website. The manager indicated that Vulcan does not do that kind of interior work! However, he did mention that Vulcan would perform it on the exterior portion of wall. (It should be noted here that there was zero discussion from Vulcan regarding exterior excavation of soil that would have to be performed to expose and gain access to the footing, a significant cost consideration.) At that juncture, I thanked the rep and walked him to the front door. For those Yelpers that are in need of waterproofing work, other than French Drains, you may want to consider how important communication is on the part of the contractor. This review was a good example of the lack thereof.

We had a French drain installed and never another issue with water. Now mom's house is getting ready to be sold but she's had years of water issues. We couldn't ignore it any longer so I called them again and in 2 days the main part of the job is done. They will be installing a sump pump for mom and again they hung plastic to keep the dust down they move items out of the way and day one the basement was trenched. Tomorrow the outside work begins and the drains will be laid out. After inspection they will be back to put the cement down clean up and done. I will always recommend Lou and American A1 Waterproofing. P.S. Lou's prices are still amazing after all these years between our job 13 years ago and today's.

They were meticulous and timely in their work. Recently we had an issue with our sump pump, we could smell sewer water and had a lot of drain flies coming. Lou, came right away, and helped us get to the cause. It was the main sewer line from the city had backed up to our house. A small part of our drain had to get fixed as a result and they did it right away. Outside of this one issue, which wasn't due to their work, our basement which would get flooded all the time has been completely dry. I recommend A-1 waterproofing all the time.
