Mall of America® - I'm looking at this coming from IKEA, realize it's the Upper Midwest, and see an MOA venue named "Flyover." Anyone else find this humorous?

It was such an incredible experience it really makes you feel like you're flying, and the visuals are so realistic. Definitely a must-do if you visit! I also loved all the food options. There are so many places to choose from, and everything I had was delicious. It's nice being able to take a break from walking around and enjoy a good meal without even leaving the mall.Another favorite was the axe throwing it was SO fun and something different from the usual mall activities. It added a really exciting, adventurous vibe to the day and made the whole experience even more memorable. The atmosphere throughout the mall is lively, clean, and full of energy. There's something for everyone shopping, entertainment, food, and unique attractions all in one place. It's perfect for a fun day out with friends or family.I would 100% recommend visiting, and I can't wait to go back and try even more things next time!

This mall has been on my bucket list for while, and while malls are far and few inbetween in my…read morearea, I was taken back to the malls I use to frequent when I was a teenager and in my young 20s. The cool thing about this is that you can catch the train right into the place just about. I had a 9:30 flight that was arriving in to Minneapolis and of course I couldn't check into my hotel. I bought an all day train pass and made my way. The coolest thing is that there are lockers of various sizes so you can store your luggage (for a nominal fee) and wander around this massive mall, got to about 1/3rd of it. I was taken back to the the 90's with the old school music playing and some of the stores that I thought didn't exist anymore. There were at least two of the same store but just on different levels or sides of the part of the mall I was in. The amusement park in the mall with the rollercoaster and kiddie rides and roaming characters was awesome. I went back the aquarium, which I would have gone into but it was filled with kids, and honestly it was too early :) Had a great meal at the crepe restaurant. If I was a senior retired, its a great nifty 50s walking spot or just getting out people watch. I would definitely try to go back to see the other parts and to stay the hell out of the cold weather this California gal is not used too.

That is to say, I should've brought my own small containers and cash. There were a few things I might've taken home with me if I'd had a good way to hold them and pay for them. (It's a $1 fee for credit/debit under $10 purchase, which... getting above $10 here is actually something that would take genuine effort, lol.) While I was there on a Thursday afternoon, it was quite bustling with people scrounging about. I overheard a lot of chatter from those who are regulars who come in once a week to see what's new to choose from. My guess is there's likely a lot of turnover in what's available, since it all comes from donations. I could probably stand to bring them some stuff I have that's been lying around and not being used. This is not a large shop, but it's packed with all sorts of stuff. Honestly, you kind of just have to go there to experience it. But I tried to take some photos of the kind of stuff you MIGHT see there to give you an idea. For example, I certainly wasn't expecting to see a 55 gallon drum of tennis balls or bottle caps. But there they were! You'll need to parallel park on the street as there is not a lot that I saw, but the good news is that parking seemed to be ample as it's a mostly residential area. They do have a bathroom for customers if you need.

I give huge props to Martha in the Framing area. She has given me so much advice on how to frame signed jerseys and how to make them look better. I highly recommend if you are doing any framing work to see her as she really treats your work like it's going on her own wall and will be very OCD with your final product.

Christmas items were all 40% off. The prices on the other items in the store were all various types of sales. Some sales prices were great deals while others (especially Christmas projects) were still not even a deal at all yet. There are no employees available anywhere except at the front check out. There were two check out lanes open and three self checkout computers. One employee had to stand near the self checkout to call people over to use them. The employees, including the one who was currently ringing someone up, would be yelling out to the line ... "If you are paying by credit or debit, there are self checkout registers open." Because I wasn't using self- checkout, the woman finished my order without ever talking to me except when she yelled across, "I can help the next person." There was no further talking. My items were simply tossed in a bag. Somehow 2 of the 4 spools of thread that I wanted to purchase got lost before I bought them. The store was hot, busy, chaotic, with a meandering line instead of one that followed the path they prefer because there were not enough associates. I did find all the items I needed. However, all categories of merchandise were spread apart because there would be some in the aisle and some in the end caps. It was a frustrating and still productive trip. But know your prices before you go!
