A full house! This place is great! (Photo by Deanna Troy Travels)

This place is great for breakfast and lunch. Reasonably priced, yummy home fries and omelets. Service is great!

Came here for a quick breakfast! Food was good and customer service was great here. I got the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. Eggs with cheese, a side of home fries and a chocolate chip pancake.

Friday morning breakfast at a new place, with great food; can't beat it! Scrambled eggs with American cheese; be prepared for EXTRA cheesy eggs if you request cheese. Home fries tasted homemade and the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant was crispy and done to liking. Food portions were big and prices were fair. Service was friendly and food came out quick. Great little breakfast spot tucked away

Ordered the meat lovers omelette with a side of fruit, crispy home fries and an additional side of homemade corned beef hash. The portions are huge and the food is awesome! You can choose between breakfast and lunch, and the lunch dishes are equally impressive. We were waited on by Gabby (owns the establishment with her husband), and also Jordan. They are so pleasant and really made us feel at home. I highly recommend

Amazing service, Amazing food. The owner welcomed me and my company we had a wonderful time and everything was delicious and fresh . Definitely coming back everything was worth it.

Food was good. Turkey bacon was my favorite. Only thing I didn't like is how they created the meals like 3 pancakes with eggs but no meat with hash browns or vice verse I didn't like that. They very stingy with the condiments. You seat yourself. Food comes out extremely fast. Pancakes has a funny taste but they okay I'll rate them a 6. The place is clean and. I'm still up in the air if I'll return.

Today we decided to have some breakfast with the family. It was close to home and for us we have never been and for us it's been years since they last visited. The cafe is really cute. Didn't expect it to be extremely busy. So happy we made reservations for a larger party. It was busy . We waited a good 15-20 min before someone got to us and ask about drinks. This is not the place to rush and leave. Not happening. Atleast not during the weekend. But we got the orders in , it took a while but we were in no rush . When the some of the dishes came out they came out 1by 1 where we had to wait a bit for the others . They all didn't come out at the same time. The portions were big. Very tasty! I had the Tres Tacos de Desayuno. The tacos were made out of corn. They do not have GF pancakes or toast. So if you are ok with just eating eggs with a side of your choice then you have options. If you want toast to go with breakfast like I usually like .. there isn't any . The other orders from the table were great. Everyone Loved it. Still full from breakfast.! I'll keep Little Cake café on my radar. I'd definitely go back!

Back a few years later! Such a great little spot in the center of Newington. They were pretty busy on a Sunday morning but only had one waitress. Took a while for our food to come, and it came out in batches, but nobody was fussy. The breakfast quesadilla was soooo good I ordered it with chorizo - love when a breakfast spot has chorizo! Need to remember to visit this spot more!

What a great find. How did it take 5 years for us to find this place. Highly recommend that you make the trip to this gem.

Make the trip to Angelo's. Newington is lucky to have this gem. The food and service was top notch.

It's not trying too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Feels like a spot where regulars post up, sip coffee, and take their time. No rush, no nonsense, ust good energy. And then the sandwich shows up... and flips the script. This isn't breakfast. This is a stacked, unapologetic morning statement. The Overloaded Egg Sando Griddled brioche bun, soft, buttery, just enough toast to hold things together (barely). Under that, a crispy hash brown doing the heavy lifting, adding crunch and soaking up all the goodness. Sausage brings that savory backbone, while the spinach scrambled eggs stay fluffy and rich. Then you get that creamy hit from the smashed avocado, melted smoked gouda layering in a subtle smokiness, and finally... the gochujang aioli. That aioli is the move. Sweet heat, a little funk, a little tang, cuts right through the richness and keeps every bite from getting too heavy. And let's be honest... Had to unhinge my jaw like a snake just to take the first bite. This thing is messy, stacked, and fully committed to the cause. Not first-date food. Not "eat it in the car" food. This is sit-down, take-a-minute, maybe-need-a-nap-after kind of food. The best part? The space balances it perfectly. Big, bold sandwich... calm, easygoing room. That's a combo I'll go back for every time.

One of my friends asked me (quite earnestly) if I had ever been to the Community Room Cafe for breakfast because "it's really great". Well, we went there today and I sincerely want to thank that unknown Yelper because the Community Room Café is excellent. We found it in the Constitution Square retail area bounded by Cedar St., E. Main St., Market Sq and Lowrey Place in the center of Newington, CT. Parking is plentiful in the Square's large parking lot. Their space is amazing -big, cheerful, inviting, comfortable, colorful (plenty of orange and black). There are plenty of various seating options in the form of couches, upholstered chairs, table/chair groupings, and counter-style seats by the windows. We saw a few medium sized groups gabbing away at the upholstered seat area and a few industrious folks clattering away on their laptops. We each went with an Avocado Toast (@ $9) with mashed avocado, diced egg, diced tomato, bacon crumbles, cilantro, and Everything bagel seasoning blanketing a big slice of toasted rye. Seriously, one of the best breakfasts we had this year. I went with a small cold brew coffee and a shot of sugar-free caramel ($4.25) while my wife went with a small light roast coffee ($3). We loved everything about the Community Room Café- the food, the vibe, the décor, the service.... Everything. PRO TIPS Their WIFI password is (one word all CAPS) ILOVEMY COFFEE They have a meeting room available to rent for $50/hour during business hours and $100/hour during non-business hours.

It was flavorful and satisfying. There are a variety of many items that include coffees, pastries, and breakfast items. The ambience is fairly cozy. There are couches, comfy chairs, and tables. After eating, I stayed another hour to finish a book I was reading. I would definitely visit again.

By the time we left, there were a lot more tables sat and a huge line at the ordering counter, so I can only assume that those people would have waited a very long time for their meals. Food: 3.8/5 Service: 3.4/5…read moreAmbiance: 3.7/5 Value: 3.6/5 The Charles is a nice upscale restaurant on Main Street in Wethersfield which opened in 2020 and quickly made Connecticut magazine's list of best restaurants. It is inside an old house of some sort, so it has a charming ambiance. They have a small parking lot so the spaces are a bit tight. Then, although we were on time for our 8:15pm reservation, we found out that they didn't have a table for us on the main floor, which is bad because my parents have mobility issues and cannot climb stairs. They asked us if we would be ok waiting five or ten minutes. Sure, that was fine we said. The host was very reassuring and he let us know that the corner table near the fireplace was finishing up and he'd get it bussed promptly. So that was good. But after we sat down we experienced service issues. Many items were unavailable. No orrechiete. No crab cakes. No sirloin special. It was weird. We hadn't arrived that late, on a Saturday night, how could so many dishes be sold out/unavailable? We ended up going with the scotch egg $11 and butternut squash arancini balls $12 for appetizers, which were both great. The scotch egg was a decent size and came with a mini salad. The arancini balls were small, but the truffle gorgonzola fontina cheese filling was really nice. Entrees were not bad. My Berkshire pork chop cooked medium was tender enough and had decent flavor. My Dad's veal ribs over mac and cheese were really good. My Mom's wagyu burger was tasty and my sister's salad was satisfactory. However the cost of the additional protein to the salad seems high (Grilled Chicken +14 / Seared Salmon +16/ Grilled Shrimp +21 / Churrasco Steak +24). The drinks were well made, but took a while to get to us. The "Charles... In Charge!" with old forester bourbon, montenegro, spiced cherry bitters, luxardo $15 was a hit. My Dad enjoyed his $17 Manhattan made with Angel's Envy bourbon. My $11 FreeBird mocktail was refreshing. Yet, throughout the night we found it difficult to get our server's attention. All four dishes did not arrive simultaneously. We had to flag someone down for more silverware after the appetizers were cleared. Right at the end when we were ready to pay, she got tied up listening to a couple at a neighboring table tell her a story or something. This must have been quite a yarn because she was totally enrapt and oblivious to our needs. We started wondering whether our table was actually her responsibility or not. Finally she came by and we let her know we were done, no dessert or after dinner drinks, just the check and a few boxes for takeout please. This was a new restaurant that we hadn't tried before, and maybe I took a risk by booking it for my Dad's 89th birthday, which was supposed to be special. Our experience was okay, and maybe we'd go again in the future, but there were too many more ups and downs this evening than I would have liked for a special occasion. I am rounding up to four stars overall, even though on this particular evening I didn't think each individual component met that mark exactly.

I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. I received my food. It even had to be heated. And I had to wait 10 minutes for them to give me my black iced coffee. Even though there are only two or three people waiting in the drink area. And that was after I said something. So who knows how long it would have taken. This isn't because of lack of effort. The baristas were doing things. They're making lots of drinks. But it's not clear for whom. They finish the drinks and they don't call people's names. Maybe they're for to go orders? I understand that restaurants need to make choices about how they run things. All I can say is, that it's not a good experience to get all of your food and you have to wait for a black iced coffee (a drink that takes very minimal effort) for 10 minutes. Even though you're one of only a few people in the drink area. I'm not going to change my review score. But these experiences definitely affect how often I visit.
