I went to Boris based on all the five star reviews and I sure wasn't disappointed! I knew my car needed a lot of servicing and Boris not only took care of everything (including the smog check), he cleaned my car as well! When he opened the hood to show me the repairs, I felt that I was looking at a brand new car. He then showed me all the old parts (which no one has ever done before) as an assurance that all this work was needed. On top of that, he's a really nice guy. I recently bought a pre-owned vehicle and wanted to have Boris check it out for a cross county trip. He went over the things that we should inspect and why and was very honest and upfront. This man really is excellent at his work and honest. He not only told me what things were bad but also told me the things that did not need to be replaced because they were functioning properly. I have been to other repair shops that like to go "shopping" on my car and the bill is crazy at the end. Not Boris, he's been very fair and always takes his time to explain what he's done. I had a friend recommend me to this shop. I recently needed my clutch replaced and Boris did a great job. He is very thorough and explained everything in the process. He even saved all the components he replaced and showed me exactly what went wrong. He gave me a variety of options for replacement OEM vs. aftermarket) and also tried to save my flywheel which speaks to how genuine he is in his work and as a person. He's not just out there to rip people off or make a quick buck. Everything was done in a very professional manner and I will be back very soon for a timing belt and water pump. We needed to do a full car inspection and two close friends recommended us to go to see Boris. It was the right choice. He did a super complete inspection of the car for less than $100 and gave us a detailed report of what was inspected and what issues were found. It turned out that air and cabin filter needed to be replaced. But instead of just going ahead without asking, not only he asked but he also recommended to take first the car to the dealer and see if they could do it in order to avoid us extra cost! I mean, we are talking about around $60 for filters+labor. It is not a lot of money when talking about car maintenance costs. And he could have done it and get the money. But no, he give us an alternative that may cost us nothing if dealer agree to do the work. Such an honest person! And this is not the end of the story. A few days later we had an issue with the airbag light after we did a car wash detailing so we asked for his help. They (because there is also a second gentleman in the car shop) checked the error, quickly fixed the issue and erased the code. You know how much they charged us? NOTHING! I totally recommend taking your car there from now on. You will not regret it! read more

Just wanted to write a review for the previous service we received at Boris Auto Repair about 2 weeks ago. My husband and his family have been using Boris as a mechanic for the last 2 decades. His truck needed a lot of work at very short notice and everything was spot on! Boris let us know with detail what needed to be fixed and how much we were going to pay. No screwing around which we appreciate. All in all the service was done in a timely manner and we are back to driving the truck around town. I have used Boris for about 10 years. We come from Pasadena for his services because of his shop's honesty and quality. To illustrate his honesty, for a while, I was driving a car on it's last leg. He only recommended what was necessary to keep the car running and safe. He could've told me that I needed this and that and got more money out of me, but instead of taking more of my hard earned money, he only recommended the necessary. I don't give out five stars easily. I moved to Glendale back in 2002. I tend to keep my cars for 10 years or more, because of this I need regular maintenance (oil, brakes, filters, etc) as well as more intensive work (fuel pump, electrical, motors etc.). I pulled into Boris's garage one day, and have been taking my cars and recommending others to do so ever since. Boris is so knowledgeable it's a rarity that he can't help you, but if he can't he will tell you straight away. I like that about him and it makes me trust him more. In any case I drive a 2002 GMC and a 2006 Honda and both cars receive regular maintenance by Boris. I've got a lot of miles on each car, but they hum like babies. I attribute this to the fact that Boris does a point check on every service. He finds things and says, you need to fix this if not this time then next time. I always get it done. My cars are the happiest little cars in town. Recently, however; one of my cars had been stolen and in a pursuit. I recovered the car and it didn't seem right. The brakes were not working right, some other things. Insurance sent over an appraiser who agreed to things like changing fluid or brake pads, but Boris could tell there was more. Even when I was happy to cash the check he said don't cash it yet, something is not right. So he checked it some more, drove it out on the freeway and called me back and said more work needed to be done. He called insurance and got the car approved for a master cylinder replacement. I got a supplemental check. It wasn't a ton of money or anything shady, it was just him looking out for me. I have to say, he doesn't gamble with the brakes.... he always says, "I'm not sending you out in your car until I'm 100% sure that your brakes are functioning 100% because if something happened to you I would have that on my conscious." That is what you need to know about Boris Automotive, he just cares too much to do brakes half-way, or your repairs half-ass. He will save you money where he can, but he won't compromise your safety or the functioning of your car. Go to Boris, he is the real deal. read more
