I never used movers until these guys came along, but now I don't think I can ever go back. Since this was a local move in the city of Boston, I can't speak for the longer-distance moves but my overall experience was very pleasant. It was a mo I compared their services and prices against others in the area and Born to Move provided very competitive rates. Additionally, the reservation and quote process was pretty painless through their website and when I needed further clarification, their rep on the phone was very helpful and clear. As for the movers, two guys came with a truck (Alex RB and Oleg) and called me as soon as they were headed towards my origin destination. I had already packed and disassembled my belongings so all they really did was help load into the truck and unload (I can't speak for their packing services, if they even have any). They did come with a blanket for my TV and more sensitive belongings, and bag for my queen sized mattress (free of charge), which was a very nice touch. The entire moving process was efficient; as soon as they became familiar with the loading/unloading situation with both destinations, they worked very quickly. I recently just moved out of a one bedroom apartment in Providence, RI. My mom hired Born to Move to help me with EVERYTHING since I live alone (boxing up everything, driving everything back to New Jersey, and setting up/moving everything inside my new place. Born to Move was AMAZING! 1. They paid attention to every little detail (EX: Wrapped my couch, made sure the nails from what what was hanging was tapped to what was hanging). 2. They were so organized and made sure that all the boxes of my stuff was together (EX: all bathroom stuff was together). When they arrived in New Jersey, they would open each box and I would tell them what floor to bring it too (There was three floors!). 3. They wrapped up (used to newspaper) to make sure nothing got damaged for all my kitchen stuff. We spent $1,400 for them to box up all my stuff, move all my furniture, drive everything to New Jersey, set up everything in New Jersey, and bring each box to the designated floor- BEST MONEY EVER SPENT! They were so efficient and timely- they packed up my apartment in Providence on a Saturday which took around 4 hours (9 AM- 1PM) and on Sunday then arrived (8 AM-12PM) which took them another 4 hours. I moved with Born to Move on July 22nd and I almost forgot to write this review in the midst on settling in, but they did such a great job that I had to. George, Andrew, and Sam did an amazing job with my things. I had one bedroom worth of things. I took apart the furniture and boxed everything, but I know that they also do that for you. They were on time. My new place needed paperwork of insurance from the moving company and Alex was very responsive and accountable with the paperwork. They came prepared with blankets and wraps which were included in the price to make sure nothing got damaged. They called me after they put everything in the truck to ask if they can take a 15 minute break and that it would not count toward the time, which was appreciated because they could have easily driven somewhere and rested for 15 minutes and still charged me so knowing that they were upfront about that gave me an ease of mind that the hours I'm paying for were quality work hours.When we got to the new place, they asked me where each box should go to make my unpacking a lot easier. It took them 2.75 hours and it was $129 per hour, which is such a reasonable price. Moving is super stressful to begin with and I have never used movers before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had a great experience with Born to Move. In fact this was one of the best moving experiences I have had over the years. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but I thought they deserved to get a positive one after our experience. They showed up exactly on time and were very efficient and diligent. This was a difficult move (in-state) from a third floor walk up with narrow and winding stairs, yet they finished in the estimated time. They wrapped all furniture carefully with the blue blankets, and I am happy to say nothing we moved was damaged. They also were happy to help us move some very heavy furniture left at our new residence. Our movers were very polite and friendly, and never complained about the heat at there is no AC in the unit and it was a very hot day. They also never complained about the difficult stairs. We will 100% use them again in the future. Pricing was relatively good during high season (we did have to increase our price a bit form the original quote given the demand but it was still very competitive). Alex and the rest of the team were very responsive and communicated frequently with us before the move as well. Overall, a very good experience. read more

I hired them through thumbtack for a local move. Their website is professional and easy to navigate. I especially liked the estimates page - my estimate was overestimated by about an hour but I didn't put in much details. I really appreciated that I didn't have to call to make a reservation. The movers showed up early. They were extremely careful with all my things during the move. They were courteous the entire time even though they were clearly exhausted. I'm giving a four star only because I wish they had paced themselves. They were exhausted from a previous move and it looked like they prioritized getting the move started early rather than giving themselves enough time the recuperate. My prior experience moving to Boston w a different company was horrible - showed up several days late picking up my furniture and showed up a week late dropping it off. On top of that , was upcharged like 800$ from agreed upon price . Born to move was completely different experience . I will 100% hire again and recommend to anyone who want great movers. I don't know how these guys do it. They literally packed, moved and haul my whole condo non-stop for 10 hours. They took a 15min break after working for 7 hours straight and they weren't slow about it either. I'm on the 4th floor, no elevator and tons of heavy furnitures (couches, beds, frames, dining set, etc.) and they didn't complain once. Always polite with sir and thank you. They showed up on time (called 30mins before arriving). These guys (one young guy and one older guy who didn't speak English) but no issues with communication with either. They knew what they're doing. I ended up giving them a big tip because they deserve every penny of it. They don't make enough to work this hard. I used Born to Move to move 1 mile in Boston in the off season. My movers showed up 3 hours late, after the quoted window. I was not updated by Born to Move until I called them and even then they told me they couldn't give me an estimate. Finally when my window was closing they told me the movers were coming from Tennessee. They did not send extra movers even though they were late. The movers arrived and didn't listen to my instructions. They were yelling at each other which made for a very uncomfortable environment. They couldn't figure out how to take apart my bed frame and damaged several of the parts. I had to do it myself later in the week. Overall very unprofessional. Born to Move and their crew were great from the start. I recently moved from MA to NC and they could not have handled the move better. Alex was prompt answering my questions through email, and was truthful throughout the process. The movers handled the furniture with care and were very friendly. I let them know my move in date would be 2 days after move out, and this did not affect the price. My only slight complaint would be that it took them 8 hours on both move in and move out days to complete the job, but with that in mind, I understand they had to make room in the truck and be careful with the furniture.
