Run away, scammers. They don't respect the agreed price and do everything to charge you more. They made an estimation of 600-800$ for moving out my furniture and put them in the storage and then charged me 1400$ They agreed on an hourly rate of 139$ and then changed to 169$ for no reason So not respecting the contract. We agreed on 600$ for the move-in from the storage to the new flat and they finally charged me 200$ more so 800$. The total move costed me 2200$. So they keep lying and charging more. And they spent 30 min doing their paperwork rather than actually moving stuff. Very bad company, I really don't understand how they have this rating. They are a total fraud. Stay away. read more

They seemed ok at first. But I didn't realize till much later that whatever Alex packed he didn't label. Alex kept encouraging me to use their boxes yet he would only allow me to fill them half way before he would tape them closed.They were $5.00 a piece. I finally realized what he was doing and I made him aware that I was on to what he was doing. I'm a disabled senior. They sure didn't treat me as such. They also left me with many things to do after they left to go to my new place. So of course they got there before I did and of course they kept the clock going . But I needed them to help me throw out some things and do a few things as they knew I was a disabled senior. Which I felt they took full advantage of. They were very disorganized, they just dropped things right inside of a room or just dropped things randomly anywhere so that the room would fill up quickly.There still are rooms I still can't even get into because there's heavy bags and boxes that I can't even move. There are quite a few items that were labeled clearly out of the 5 of them they put them in rooms that they felt like putting them in.The office is in the basement so they put things labeled office in the kitchen or dining room. It didn't matter what label I had on it they would put it in the room closest to them. They were taking away from places to actual put things because they laid a mirror or picture down instead of leaning them up against a wall and thus now where therr could be a stack of boxes is now just 1 mirror. They did no planning nor organizing of anything just random items plopped anywhere they wanted. After Alex told me the price of $3712.25 you could have knocked me over with a feather since I never ever expected such an outrageous price. I was out raged and they were going to bring my stuff back to the original place because my bank has a daily limit and wouldn't let me give more than $2000.00 THAT night. That's how NOT understanding they were.One of them asked me for a candy bar that he saw me packing which I thought he had some nerve and then topped that off by asking me for a bottled water..After $3712.25 get your own darn candy bar and water. They also kept leaving the door open which kept triggering my oil tank to go on. Im not trying to pay for oil that Im not getting to use. Im not trying to heat up the outside. I can't find things. Certain rooms I still can't even get into. And Im still finding things that dont belong in the room Im in..Towards the end of the night Alex was quite rude and quite smart ass when I eould ask him yo put something where it should have gone in the first place. Plus they didn't put my couches back together.Alex argued with me over TV remotes that I couldn't tell which was which because they are identical and HE had put them together in 1 container. All in all it was the worst experience ever.They are horrible they are extremely over priced. And another thing.. They got my couch stuck while moving it out from my old place and they couldn't unstick it so Alex says it is stuck we can't move it and it will cost more to put it over the railing. But THEY got it stuck themselves. They get 0 stars. I would never ever recommend this place to my worst enemy. They need to refund me the money for the oil they wasted, among other things, oh and they broke a plastic tote by putting very heavy cardboard boxes on it. I used this company in March. I booked on the phone with someone named George. I booked 3 guys and a truck which would be enough to move my whole condo. They were on time, called me the morning before the actual move to confirm the appointment and to inform me about their arrival time. When they arrived I was greeted by 3 strong guys. Foremans name was Andrew, who helped me to manage everything through the whole moving process. Very nice guys, very professional and efficient. We walked into my place and reviewed the whole house. They were on point and didn't waste any time. I was there to help but mostly with coordination of items at the destionation. The crew wrapped every piece of furniture in blankets which was nice because another company didn't even think about doing that. (especially I was worried about my work desk) I was expecting to finish everything in 4 hours but it took 5 instead, which was ok because there was a ton of things to wrap, load and organize. Plus the same process at the destination, but it was much faster because they unwrapped everything in a matter of minutes. We moved the whole condo. Two bedrooms, my small office, a living room, washer, dishwasher, drier and a fridge, lots of boxes including ones in the storage room in the basement of the building. Once we arrived to the new place they unwrapped every piece of furniture and organized everything as I wanted it to be. All the boxes were placed in the designated rooms and placed nicely, so I could reach every each of them and unpack all the other stuff i had in there later. We moved from Boston to Denver in a very large truck packed by Stark. The contents of the truck were in total chaos upon arrival. We watched as the unloading crew had to tape up boxes just to get them off the truck without items going everywhere. The boxes had not been tied down, and very heavy boxes had been stacked on top of lighter ones. It looked like the truck had been loaded by a bunch of teenagers instead of a professional moving crew. About 30% of the boxes looked like the photos below, and many pieces of furniture were nicked, and two totally broken. Many of the contents of the boxes, which had been very carefully packed by experienced packers, were damaged. Stark would take no responsibility for this damage regardless of our irrefutable proof. Got an estimate from them. Went through several inventories and calls and was given a price. Was told that "whatever fit in the truck" was fine and that the actual truck was the one taking my belongings to Florida. Well, we got everything we wanted into the truck and the truck left. We hopped on a flight to our new state and the truck was allegedly "on the way". I got a call the next day saying they unloaded the truck in the warehouse and many of my items were not coming because the truck was now over it's weight limit. They left many things behind and I was forced to pay for the remaining items (another $3k) to come on another truck "sometime in the next 30 days". Shady folks. Shady business practices. read more

This review is for the customer service. My moving plans changed so I ended up not hiring movers but I had an excellent experience with Stark during the planning process. They provided a very quick quote and it ended up being the best price I received, including travel time, etc. The booking process online was very easy and they provided confirmations along the way. When I had to cancel a few days before my scheduled move they were very understanding, didn't try to charge fees and let me know they'd help me reschedule whenever I was ready. I requested quotes from many movers to assist with moving heavy furniture from NH to RI. Stark gave one of the best prices and I ultimately chose them based on their Google and Yelp reviews. They did not disappoint. The reservation process was very easy and completely online. On the day of the move, the Stark Movers called to say they were within 10 minutes from my apartment. I appreciated the punctuality and communication. There were three movers who worked efficiently as a team. They had to move an oversized sectional and treadmill down three flights of stairs. I was impressed with how quickly they wrapped all my items up and loaded them onto the truck. They were even faster unloading at my new place. My RI apartment has some tight doorways and hallways, but it did not hinder their process. Again, their communication was on point because they continued to check in with me about where furniture should be set up. They also handled assembling my bed (huge relief). The movers are more professional and has all the gears for moving. I booked 2 guys and a truck for my move. They were on time with their masks on and the move went smoothly. I was expecting 2 hours for the move but it took 1 hour and a half with no lifting for myself. The price was reasonable and compared to other movers it was the best price as well. The best movers!!! I did a very last minute request for movers less than 24 hours. Yehor replied immediately within the hour and continued to followed up until the next morning to plan the move the day of. With 3 movers, the team managed to dissemble, wrap, protect our furniture, paintings, and fragile glasses. Then they transported, packed up, and reassembled the furniture all within 2 hours. Reasonable prices and great team! I recommend them to anyone in the Greater/Boston area. I used this company to move from RI to KY. Turns out that there is such a thing as a good moving company. I have moved a lot and I have to say this was very professional and smooth. They picked up my stuff and delivered them within literally 3 days. Igor FaceTimed me from the new apartment (I was still in the old one when my things were delivered) and confirmed that everything is where it needed to be. They assembled and unwrapped everything and set it in its place They said the pick up will be from 2-4 PM. They came at 2 and left at 4 exactly! Had a move scheduled for 3pm on a Saturday. Was going to pick up the truck at 2pm. I get a call at 8am telling me that they would be there 4 hours early. We had a difficult residential move recently and were delighted with Stark Moving and Storage across the range of expectations: crews arrived exactly on time for all meetings; correspondence was answered promptly and effectively; staff were respectful, organized, attentive to requests and professional; and our antique and valuable furniture pieces were treated gingerly and arrived at their destinations intact and undamaged. Our move was complex, involving: the need, because of a small, antique staircase, to lower several heavy furniture pieces through a second-story window to the ground; having to move a special edition (and unusually heavy) baby grand piano down a flight of stairs; a number of garden sculptures, some of which were large, heavy and fragile; the need to disassemble and reassemble sculpted and artistically painted furniture; and both furniture and other items needing to be delivered to two different sites. I hired Stark Moving for a local move. I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment to another across town. I was given a quote for 3 movers at $159 per hour with an estimated cost of 3-4 hours, plus 1 hour for travel time. I felt that this was an accurate estimate, especially since I knew that I'd have everything packed and ready to move and the movers would only have to disassemble and reassemble the furniture (bedroom and living room). They arrived at the scheduled time and immediately began to load the boxes which were packed and ready for loading. I was impressed with this efficient start and went on to take care of some work online while they did their job. After a while I noticed that they were moving very slowly with the furniture disassembly and wrapping. While I was glad that they were being careful, it was apparent that they were not trying to get the work done quickly. Also, there were only 2 of the three working on getting it done. It didn't dawn on me at the time that the third person had not come back into the apartment to help after the initial boxes were taken downstairs. When they were taking an extremely long time to return from finally beginning to load the furniture, I decided to go downstairs to let them know they needed to move faster. At this point I saw all three just standing at the truck talking, which confirmed what I suspected, that they were intentionally stalling to make the time last longer and hence increase the fee. Once I told them we needed to move faster they immediately resumed moving the remaining furniture into the truck to begin the transition to the next location. At the new apartment they did appear to move a little faster but still it was only two as opposed to all three doing the moving until nearly the end when the third person joined to assist. When it was time to pay, the total number of hours was 7 hours and 15 minutes which included an hour and 45 minutes for travel time (nearly double the original hour of time quoted for travel at the outset). Then there was an additional charge for "moving supplies" that was not mentioned at the beginning for tape, boxes, and shrink wrap that was used to "cover" the furniture. Then there was an additional 3% fee for using a credit card. I was very disappointed that my final cost was $400 more than the estimated MAXIMUM based on the amount of furniture that I had in a one bedroom apartment. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because they were courteous and careful with my things. However, the description of honesty and integrity in their advertising is misleading considering they very subtly increase the time by moving slowly and only utilizing a portion of the manpower they are being paid for. I would not use them again and would not recommend them to others. read more

Moving is an absolute evil and in my opinion you cannot count on moving companies. After using stark I changed my mind. They were on time, wearing masks and gloves. They covered all my furniture by blankets. I wasn't so organized, couldn't buy enough boxes because of pandemic, but it wasn't a problem for them. They gave me a great price for moving from MA to FL.
