The first time I took my dog there, they wanted to charge me $400 for a blood panel which is absolutely insane. I said no and took him to another vet in the area that did his bloodwork for less than half the price. I told myself because of that alone, I would not return. Well, a couple months later, my dog was having an emergency episode during business hours so I was calling around trying to get him in somewhere. Bosque has an emergency extension but I called that and the main line 5-6 times and got no answer. This vet is like, right next door to my house so I just drive over there. I asked the receptionist if there was something wrong with their phones because I've been trying to call and couldn't get an answer and she or he or whatever immediately caught an attitude. When it was stated that they were busy, I looked around and said I dont see anyone in here. I don't hear your phone ringing off the hook. I explained that it was an emergency and so they went to get the doctor begrudgingly. When the doctor came out, it was apparent that she was told I was a problem or something because when I explained my frustration with not being able to get through with an and emergency and then being treated rudely by the receptionist, she put her hand up to stop me from speaking and asked me what was going on with my dog. I gave her the whole spiel only for her to tell me they couldn't see me. These people are lazy, they lack emotional intelligence and empathy and I will never return or recommend them. Matter of fact, I will actively deter my friends and family to save them the frustration. I recommend Los Lunas Animal Clinic or Arrow Animal Hospital. They are both fantastic. read more

We have three dogs two English bulldogs and one pitbull. All of them get seen here by Dr McKinny. The staff is always friendly and polite. We have never been given any kind of bad attitude from any of the staff. I love how the doctor will tell you when there is no need to pay for anything that is not needed. Got a call from the receptionist saying my appointment was at 8:00am and I was 10 minutes late and that they would no longer see my dog for her ear infection. I thought the appointment was at 8:30 so yes, that was my mistake. However, I was outside of the clinic so essentially I was there within 11 minutes from the appointment. The receptionist was RUDE had an ATTITUDE. The call was on speaker in which my 13-year-old daughter heard the conversation and she gasped when she heard the way the receptionist was talking to me!!' When I walked into the clinic I requested to speak to somebody else in which the doctor came out she said she would see me later that day.. I was willing to wait. I did make a comment "this was gonna be the last time I was gonna come to this location Because how rude the receptionist was." She told me "Don't COME AT ALL!" When The receptionist is the one who copped an attitude first in which I hope they do listen to that recorded call! I drive all the iway from Albuquerque to come to this location because how loyal I've been to this clinic! I've been coming here for over 10 years with multiple pets since they were located in Bosque Farms, The last time I came, I was waiting for 45 minutes to 1 hr for my scheduled apt in the waiting room, but I didn't complain! I could understand if I was a client that was constantly late or a no-show but the way that I was treated today, I would not recommend coming to this location! my dog still has a chronic ear infection in which the clinic refused to help me vs correcting their receptionists attitude! Notice how on any negative review they NEVER apologize or take accountability it's always the clients fault! I took my dog here in March for an ear infection he has. I live in Albuquerque and was told this vet is the best by a good friend. I took the hour drive. The vet was nice and she seemed to care about my dog. She gave him one treatment and told me he should be good. I let them know the treatment didn't seem to help. I was told the follow up would not cost me extra. Only if he needed more treatment. Because I have kids, job and it's hard to make it to Los Lunas I had to cancel the appointment I had. When I tried to reschedule yesterday they told me I had not followed up within the 14 days time and I would now need to pay in full for the same issue I came in with a month ago. I was never told I only had 14 days only to "follow up" I don't have money to keep paying for this. Now my dog has to go to a different vet because they just don't care. I'm now responding to the vet's response on my google review. It's sad we live in a world that people lost sight of doing what's right and treat people this way and act as if they care. Actions speak not words. You are not a person of your word. As I stated I had several things that made it impossible to get there in 14 days.Yes you recommended but NEVER said I would only get a follow up in that time frame, so maybe add that to your invoice and tell your future customers so they don't go thought this frustration. I just thought to my mistake as you stated in our visit "If it was still a problem you would help him and I would only be charged for the medicine he required." You said the visit would be free and the treatment would cost me so I assumed that is how it would work when I reached out yesterday. I tried to treat him at home with an ear wash I got from a local vet and didn't see improvement so I thought I better call you and go back. I had no idea I would be treated this way. This clinic demonstrated some of the most grotesque, unprofessional behavior i have experienced from a bussines. Dr. McKinney did not practice with the compassion required for the field of veterinary medicine and the situations that come with it. The experience level needed to deal well with pets and clients was simply not present. By answering an ad off craigslist to rescue a kitty. After having to put my cat put down of 17 yrs and having bonded with the new animal. I brought the new craigslist kitty to the clinic. There I was treated immediatley as if I had done, and was actively doing something wrong when a micro chip was found that was addressed to another. The kitty needed to be returned. The scanning of the pet was done without asking. The appoinment discription was recorded wrong. I was not offered to speak with the addressees. The unfair treatment from the clinic was unprecedented, and there is proof of the craigslist ad. Over all the demeanor demonstrated from Dr. McKinney and her staff in this situation was frightning. In a lifetime of experience with animals, and having worked in animal hospitals, never in the years i worked had i seen or even heard of a clinic staff practicing such bad business. Bosque Farms Animal Hospital is a terrible shame for the community and anyone practicing veterinary medicine. I absolutely will not take any pets there again. read more

These kind folks aren't about squeezing money out of clients. Extremely professional, clean, and affordable. It's a bit of a drive, but it's well worth it. Doctors Cimbal and McKinney are fantastic and now have been my vets since my returning from Oklahoma five years ago. The staff is well trained and almost as caring as the doctors. The obvious care and sharing of my sadness upon having to put two old goldens to rest was not faked and so very much appreciated. I drive apporx 40 miles to see these two wonderfully sharp doctors to care for my dogs. Doctor Cimbal found that the first golden I had to put to rest was suffering from a rare conditions from a tick bite. He had to have had this for many years and my vet in Oklahoma, which too was very very good, missed even it. I always had them on two per year check up and he had showed symptoms for a very long time, but this was missed. Prices are great, average or sometimes even below but the care is not, the care is the best. van read more

Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about this clinic since Dr. Bowman left. They certainly have not followed in his footsteps. They have refused immediate care for my dog. I called because my dog was having trouble breathing and they scheduled me out 3 weeks and said they couldn't see her any earlier..."sorry you will have to take her to ER". I took her to the ER a few days later and they told me that it was important to follow up with her primary vet and get her on the right track. I called Bosque Animal Clinic and they said because they did not give her the medication they could not help and that they are more of a wellness vaccine office. I explained that she was seen in the ER per their recommendation, but they didn't seem to care. My dog passed away a week later never made it to the 3 week appointment. I called and transferred my dogs to Petroglyph who are amazing and care for your pets and their owners. read more
