Mr Buff was recommended to me by a friend who used them and LOVED them. Mr Buff is extremely nice and they did an excellent job moving things. There's just a couple of things I'd like to point out- 1) I was quoted $401 to move about 5 items of furniture. I moved literally everything else myself. I was also just switching apartments in the same complex, so no real travel. I agreed to this price and it was fine, but looking back, it took, maybe 45 minutes and $401 base (not including tip) seems pretty high. I wish I had figured out alternative means like hiring local guys for cheaper. So I don't feel like I got my money's worth. With that said - my friend moved an entire 2 story house for only $1,500 and feels like she definitely got her moneys worth. So I'm sure across the board, they are likely reasonably priced. 2) And the biggest issue - one of the workers texted my personal cell phone the night following my move saying he got my number from the paperwork and found me intriguing and wants to know more about me. I did call Mr Buff immediately to alert him. Mr Buff told me to block the number. I am mortified that my personal details were taken from the private paperwork by an employee for personal use. He also knows where I live which really concerns me and the fact that I told on him to his boss. Although Mr Buff seemed genuinely upset over this when I called him, I do think there should've been some kind of apology, alert that this would be handled internally, assurance it would not happen again, and follow up that it was handled. Maybe it was handled, idk what happened, but I didn't receive follow up. Either way, I feel bad I have to give a slightly poor rating because Mr Buff does seem great and like he works so terribly hard and I know so many others have had such positive interactions with the company, but I want to share so others are aware and so the company can reinforce appropriate boundaries around customer information. It took them an hour just to take apart my king-size bed. The day before, a friend and I moved all 70 boxes ourselves in about five hours total, including loading and unloading. I hired the movers only for the large furniture: a king-size bed, two nightstands, a dresser, a bench, a 65-inch TV, a TV stand, a sofa, a coffee table, and an end table. Moving those items just four miles took them 6.75 hours, which is what I was billed for. After the first hour and a half, they had only taken apart the bed and moved the mattress downstairs. I asked why it was taking so long because it honestly felt like they were dragging their feet. Had I known they weren't actually firefighters, I never would have hired them. I chose this company because my neighbor had used them a few months earlier. I watched that move, and they were in and out very quickly. She also told me nothing was damaged, which gave me confidence in hiring them. Although I was frustrated with how long the move took, I still tipped them 10% using my credit card. I was then surprised to learn there was a 4% credit card processing fee. Since Square charges businesses 2.6% plus 10 cents per transaction, I felt that passing along a 4% fee was excessive, so I deducted that amount from the tip. They used Square to process my transaction. As a small business owner in Scottsdale, I understand the cost of processing credit cards. While I would not use this service again. I was also disappointed that the company's name implied the movers were firefighters when they were not. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. I was charged two hours of travel time coming and going to my place when they were getting ready to leave I googled travel time back to surprise and it said 43 minutes I was billed for an hour when I said something he said that they were going past Surprise to the yard that they had to return the truck too. Response to the owners reply The bed has hex screws holding it together, so the only reason it would be difficult to take apart is if you didn't have the proper tools. The fact that you wish you could provide bulky, glistening calendar movers has absolutely nothing to do with anything I wrote in my review or with the efficiency of the movers. I want to be a billionaire, but that doesn't mean I'm going to become one. Likewise, using a name that gives people the impression they are supporting local firefighters is misleading. I needed to get my household goods out of their storage quickly to stop the situation from getting worse. Just-In Time Moving was gracious enough to fit me into their schedule last minute. Their office was communicative, their estimate was thorough and clear, and the final bill matched what they estimated. The crew showed up on time, communicated throughout the day, and was professional, careful, and kind. This was not a simple move. They had to unload my furniture and belongings from storage crates, unwrap items that had been wrapped by the prior mover, take care with everything, rewrap my furniture, load it, transport it, and unload it into my new storage unit. They completed the entire job in 7.5 hours. By comparison, the prior mover had tried to bill me 16.5 hours for the move into storage alone. Just-In Time Moving did a fantastic job, and I am extremely grateful they were willing to help me on short notice. After the experience I had before them, their professionalism, clear communication, and honest billing meant everything. My advice to anyone hiring movers: read all reviews carefully, do not take online ratings at face value, check whether the company is listed with moversaz.org, review BBB ratings, and read how the company responds to 1-star and 2-star reviews. They came back 2 days later with their truck and loaded up the balance of my property, moved both trucks to my new location and unloaded both.
