I've gotten my hairs cut from this shop multiple times. I usually get a mid to low skin fade and blended with the top with a little trim, no lineup. The quality of the cut is good, but could be better, hence the 4-stars. Another reason is the value - it's a bit on the $$$ side. It's also usually very busy so sometimes you'll have to wait a while (if you don't have an appointment with a specific barber). I suppose that's a good thing because you know they are good. But if you have to wait an extended period of time and your fade is still uneven, that's when the value doesn't "line up"; if people are lining up for a barber shop, they have to pick up their speed to get through the cuts but the quality suffers. So if you want it fast and cheap, it won't be good. If you want good and fast, it won't be cheap. The thing is, my haircuts are typically decent (fade on one side is not always even with the other, blend can be a little rough on the edges), but it's hardly fast and is not cheap. I'm paying about $45 (after tip) for a 3.5-4 star haircut. Nothing against the barber, because he's usually great. I'm just a bit of a perfectionist so I'll notice the little things. So unfortunately, 5-star reviews are tougher to come by from me. Overall vibe is great. They recently remodeled the shop so everything looks brand new. So you know they're doing well. I'll keep coming back and would recommend Bossman Barber for people whoever lives around the area and wants a good professional haircut from a barber and can afford it at the higher end. This ain't no Great Clips. It's definitely earned a solid 4-star. read more

Honestly I struggled with this review ! First time in and the staff isn't the most professional! I can totally get over that ... The loud obnoxious talking and the way they come off can ruffle some feathers ! But my poor amount of stars is for the actual hair cut I got ! I hate it it's awful .... Now it's just hair and grows back .. but I really look for a nice relaxing vibe from my barber and this was not it ! Also the gentleman that gave me a fresh shave sucks at using a straight edge razor ! He butchered my neck ... The amount of Nix left by him was ridiculous... take your time and do it right ! Also don't ask the client to tighten skin for you .. your the barber and should know and want to do all that yourself ... The only reason I'm not leaving 1 star is because it is a family owned and operated business .. so for that I am gentle with the star review .. Last year I lived in another state, where my haircut price at a barber shop went up from $18 to $25 due to inflation. When I moved to Peoria a few months ago I looked and asked around for a good barber shop. That is how I found Bossman in the Four Corners shopping area in Peoria. Last month was the first time I went there and my haircut cost me $35 (without tip). I thought it was quite high, but the barber I had (Cameron) was a friendly guy and did a great job. Therefore, I went there again. Today, after I got my haircut I was given a bill for $42.50 !!! There was a sign taped to the top of the front counter stating prices had been raised due to inflation, but there were no details as to how much. The list of prices on the wall still had the old prices, so that's what a customer sees when they first walk in the door. Cameron is a great barber, but this is an outrageous price for a simple men's haircut with no added services. Sorry, but this will be the last time I go there. read more

I walked in 35 minutes before they closed and they immediately turned me away as soon as I walked in saying they were "done for the day". Why post your business hours as being 9am-5pm If you really close at 4:30? Wasted my time coming here - would not recommend. I have gone to this barber about 4 to 5 times now over the last 2 years and they have never given me a haircut i was happy with, And when i say something the barber will start to explain his reasoning for the things he did. I showed the barber a reference pic and explained what i wanted done to my hair, i asked for one inch cut off, he proceeded to cut my hair until it was one inch long. He Told me what he was gonna do. I was looking for a new Barbershop in my are. I stumbled across this shop and thought I would check it out. As I entered the shop I was all decked out and I thought wow. Talking to the Receptionist I ask how much for a fade? I was told 33.00 I left thinking wow that high but it is the fanciest barber shop I had ever been In. Now I'm not old but, but I just want a good hair cut. I decided to try it out. Stephen cut my hair and did a great job. as I was checking out the price I was charged was 36.00. I explained to the receptionist that I was told 33.00 she said well you got a fade. I said still that's high, she said well we put a lot of money on this shop. I thought ok the. Two weeks later I went back a to try it again because I did get a good hair cut. after a good hair cut I went to pay again and was charged 36.50. I looked at the receipt and said what is the .50 for she said I know Right it is a charge to use the credit card machine. I said after these prices tour charging to use the visa machine. and Paid. I was waiting to tip Stephen who had gone to the bath room. At that point the OWNER was asking what was wrong. The Recp told him I asked about the .50 charg. this is when he attacked me verbally and told me if I had a problem I could go across the parking lot and get my hair cut at Great Clips. He then said I have done nothing but caused problems since I started coming. which this was only my second Visit. point being I'm the customer and just had a simple question about the charge. he didn't even aske me what my conceven was he just attacked me in front of his customer. watch out at this shop I recommend 4 other people to this shop and called them back to say this owner is crazy and rude as FU"". so he said his rent is high, good luck paying it as you lose business. Extremely professional and skilled barbers. I went there while on vacation with my brother and father. Their haircuts were very clean exactly what they wanted. I want to specially thank Cameron for the work he did on my hair and beard. He was very clear about how he was going to cut my hair to achieve the results I was after. I was asked how I wanted my hair to be faded and at what angles I wanted my beard to be. I would thoroughly suggest Cameron to anybody looking for a new Barber. I would like to note as well that there was a fair amount of time involved with my haircut as I was asking for quite a lot of work. It also cost more than an average haircut. I repeated myself about six to seven times, asking for a simple buzz cut and my entire head is shaved down to pricks. Would never go here again to get my hair cut by a woman. My son needed a hair cut bad! I originally planned to go to sports clips and get him a regular shmegular haircut but the wait was over an hour and shmegular aint worth that much! I called Bossman because honestly, they were the closet barber near me. When i called i was told to just come on in. At first, when i walked in i was started to see that every chair in the lobby was taken. I turned to the receptionist to question the suggestion of "just come on in." However, she reassured me it would be just a few minutes. She wasnt wrong! Within 5 minutes they called us over. I unfortunately, didn't get the name of the barber but i showed him a picture of what we wanted. (Think Johnny Depp from Public Enemies.) I was very impressed at the attention and time the barber took on my son. He didn't rush the haircut at all and gave him all the attention he needed. He finished with a hot towel and massage. What i loved most about this experience was the overall energy of this place. Very classic barbershop with the iconic checkered tile and red back drop. I read a comment saying this place was overpriced and that is definitely not the case. My sons hair cut was 19 dollars and he even styled it for him. I hope people aren't expecting luxury service for great clips prices! read more
