I don't recommend the Macaron making class offered by Boston Bon Bon. The class description indicated some information on what to expect and the class did not live up to that description. I did reach out to the owner with my concerns before writing the review but she did not offer any resolution just excuses. First of all, the class met from 10-2 and it didn't mention that there is a break where I would have to pick up my daughter. I only found out the day before because I asked if there was a lunch break. 1) After the class was over, we were supposed to receive a packet of recipes. We did not receive a packet. They emailed some recipe info a day or so later but it didn't even include all fillings used. 2) They advertised that each participant would make their own batch of macarons and bring home 15. That is not what happened. My daughter had to work with a partner and take turns doing the prep. Then she brought home 9 and her partner brought home 10. She said the most anyone in the class brought home was 12. For $100 class, this was very disappointing. 3) They advertised that they would be making fun and unique flavors. They made chocolate, vanilla and rose? Really? Chocolate and vanilla are not fun and unique. Then they didn't even include the recipe for all of those flavors in the email. I think the owner needs to stop falsely advertising this class and make the details in the description match the experience. It was a very disappointing experience especially for as expensive as it was. The owner's response was even more disappointing where she made excuses and accused my daughter of eating the macarons on site which was untrue. I'd recommend looking up a YouTube video rather than going to this in person class. The macarons they made were also not good and were the worst macarons we'd ever tried. read more

OMG! I truly loved the macaron tower I received for my wedding from Boston Bonbon. It was so delicious, it barely lasted 10 MINUTES!! It was literally all gone! lol If you are planning any event these macarons will truly be a big hit. The owner was super friendly and made sure to coordinate drop off time with me and my wedding coordinator. The delivery was super smooth. The payment process was easy and straight forward. Just recently had a mix of macarons from Boston Bonbon and they were frankly pretty bad. I got a mix pack as a gift, and the first thing I noticed was how oddly shaped they were - instead of the usual plump cookies, a lot of these were flat like circular disks, and many were lacking feet. The cookies are way delicate - after biting into one I realized the reason was that the cookie was pretty much hollow on the inside. Instead of being chewy, the texture was close to powdery or crunchy. The jam in the middle was relatively non-existent in some cookies and over-loaded in others. Overall they were pretty small in size and also cloyingly sweet. A lot of the flavors were simply overwhelmed with the sweetness. I wasn't sure of the flavors but the bright pink one in particular tasted like I was just chewing on sugar. The macarons were a little rough, but I get that they're hard to make. The price was very reasonable, and it seems like Boston BonBon makes some very pretty cakes. I would definitely see myself giving them a second shot in a few months, maybe when they've gotten a chance to improve their stock a little bit. read more

I tried my first Boston BonBon macarons during a pop-up event in Medford. These macarons are really, really good, and they really stand out from your typical coffee shop macarons because they are so fresh and perfectly chewy. I really liked the texture on these macarons, and Boston BonBon also makes some really unique flavors (think Thai Tea, Black Sesame, and Earl Grey). The only problem I had with these delightful cookies was consistency. Out of the 9 macarons I tried, one or two of them had an air pocket in the cookie layer and another one had a really hard cookie (tough to chew). Sent a box of their macarons to my friend in Alaska because she loves them but can only ever buy the nasty frozen ones they sell at Costco (it's a small isolated town). She loved them. They arrived just in time for Christmas and despite being shipped from the other side of the country she said they tasted delicious and fresh.
