I stopped in for a coffee after wandering around Cassadaga one Friday. The coffee house's vibe was definitely Bostonian. I thought it was cute and clever! Both baristas were very friendly and helpful. Warm, actually. They didn't seem annoyed to be providing service..the way many baristas do at various locations. I had a long and productive chat with Diana, which definitely has management qualities. She is a visionary also, and we brainstormed fun ideas for the shop. No skin int he game for me; I just Ama natural born idea producer (they come so easily to me) and I'm always up for a chat about how to creatively expand small businesses. My order was GREAT. Definitely had a late, but also had a dessert. This place was chaotic in the most wonderful way. We walked in on a Sunday early afternoon and it was packed so packed that we walked the whole restaurant twice and couldn't find anywhere to sit. We ended up getting our coffee to go and it was absolutely amazing.-I love the combination that they had perfect balance & taste. It was perfection. Even though we couldn't sit, it was definitely worth the drive as we walked around downtown to land and explored some of the local businesses which I think was actually a win while we were doing that we kept seeing everyone else with Boston coffeehouse cups, so that just tells me that everyone knew that that was the place to go and you should go to. They have a great parking lot right next to the building so you don't have to worry about street parking. Boston Coffee House in Deland is a delightful surprise for anyone who cannot resist a spur of the moment day trip by train. That giant brass kettle outside the old brick building practically waved me in like a coffee siren, and I was immediately hooked. A helpful sign above the register told me the counter is for to-go orders and that I could grab any seat for dine-in, so I settled into a cozy little nook in the back. I was drawn to the Iced Green Monsta Mint coffee, which they sell by the espresso shot (1 shot is the small, 2 shots is the medium, and so on) and wow did it live up everything I was craving for the morning. Then I went for a chipotle breakfast sandwich with roast beef, which was flavorful and packed with egg, though I kept wishing it had something to help fill the empty space on the plate like breakfast potatoes or fruit. My only gripe is that the entire visit took about an hour and a half, mostly because my server appeared less frequently than my train up from Orlando. By the time I got my check, I was wondering if I should just hold out for dinner. Still, the ambiance was pleasant, the coffee was tasty, and the food was worth a try if you have time to spare. The service is consistent; however it may lag a bit during heavy traffic times - lunchtime especially and Sunday mid mornings are quite busy. The only issue is that it is very narrow and the area to wait for your coffee is next to the expo opening, so very crowded and squeezed in when waiting for your items. This location also allows you to dine in. Reminds me of a wholesome and loving energy you would get from Luke's on Gilmore Girls. I would like to specifically call out Destany Pedro, a manager at the DeLand location. I came to her a couple years ago with a curious request. My fiancee at the time, and I were looking for a venue for our wedding reception. She was willing to accommodate us for a FAR lower price than any other wedding venue location, literally less than half the price. We ended up tipping every server on staff that day $100 for their few hours' work as a thanks. Moreover, we STILL came out under the nearby professional venues. Destany, Katie, Vanessa, and a few of the other veterans still say hello to us every time we come in and check up on us. They care and show the personal touch that goes above and beyond. 10/10 for them. read more

I realllllly enjoyed this place!! It reminds me of a tea room because of the menu. As soon as you walk in, there's a pastry case, and the place at which you can order food if you are taking it to go. If you want to eat there, you can have a seat and a server will come to your table to take your order. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating which was ideal because there were 6 of us. They serve soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pastries along with coffees. I had the Cranberry chicken panini that consists of very tender grilled chicken, Gouda cheese, onion jam, tomatoes and arugula on Cranberry date focaccia bread with sriracha mayo. It was PERFECT!!! Soo very tasty! We didn't wait long at all to get our meal. Our server was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed! Everyone enjoyed their meals. A very cute local coffee shop located in downtown Deland ! The minute you walk in you're greeted and there's tons of pastry's in the window that all look soo yummy !! Arrived on a Thursday at around 2pm. It wasn't too busy so we were able to find seats. The waitress came by shortly and got our orders in quickly. Sometimes if it's super packed, it does take a little bit of time. There's plenty of tables for a variety of groups. If the front is full, theres 2 rooms in the back as well as an outdoor area. If you're in a rush I would recommend ordering at the front counter, because it does take a while if you sit down. My friend and I ordered 2 coffees that day, I love the atmosphere in this shop. So cozy and bustling with people. You can work here as long as you're a customer. I see people studying or writing when I visit. In the front there's a variety of cakes and pastries. Along with coffees & teas, they serve brunch, salads and breakfast sandwiches. My husband always enjoys the turkey twist. I like to switch it between Pesto Ciabatta or the chicken pesto melt. We were in the area for the decorated Christmas house need a little little bite to eat. This was recommended by one of the stores we walked. In very happy we did. The waitress was a lovely she couldn't have been nicer, had a tuna salad wrap very good and delicious coffee. The desserts look good but we had a long drive back, so decided not to have any. We ordered the French Toast Panini consisting of fluffy eggs, cheese and ham between two thick slices of bread, grilled to perfection. Chicken Dijon salad...wilted old lettuce from a plastic bag and then pretty large pieces of mushroom, onions and tomatoes. This is usually not a problem but server only provided a fork. Had every intention of staying for a dessert, but despite salad looking good, it lacked in flavor and quality. Couldn't justify ordering anything else. We met our photographer here for our engagement shoot in Downtown Deland last night. We arrived about 30 minutes early to get a couple of drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. I got a hot chocolate with oat milk and my fiancé got a doppio espresso. Being our first time there, we ordered at the counter and asked to be served in mugs to enjoy in the cafe. They did let us know that next time, we can sit at a table and they will bring us menus to take our orders and serve us that way. Something that did confuse us was whether or not we were supposed to wait at the table to add to our order or go back up. Our drinks were good, service was pleasant. I can't say I was blown away by the beverage quality, but it was fine! We did appreciate that they let our photographer take some photos of us in their cafe before we went around the downtown area. If you are in the area, it's worth a stop. Their lunch menu looked pretty good but we didn't get the chance to try anything! read more

I was there 45 minutes till closing with my fiancee, so we had tons of seating options from which we could pick. We decided to sit up front by the window. It was a cozy little corner! The ordering process at Boston Coffeehouse is a little different. If you want to enjoy your beverages in the coffee shop, they prefer you sit so they can provide table service. This process is pretty different from what I'm used to in most coffee shops: walk in, order, then sit and enjoy or take your order to-go. I noticed that the experience appeared to differ for regular customers versus new customers, such as myself - regulars are greeted with more energy and excitement. If you're someone who tries different places for coffee, I would suggest giving Boston Coffeehouse a shot. You'll enjoy the coffee and a calming atmosphere. read more

If you are going to reprimand or yell at an employee make sure you do it in private or when there are no customers around! This makes it very uncomfortable for customers and employees. Great find for out first time in town. They have a dine in or pick up option. Went for coffee. Were greeted and Sat immediately. Everyone was raving about the coffee so good we stayed for a second cup and ordered breakfast. They have all the options for breakfast sandwiches or if you prefer a traditional breakfast they've got it. For those that are on the avocado toast bandwagon they've got that as well. Returned again for lunch the next day. They had great specials and options from sandwiches, soups, salads to heavy entree options. Many dessert and pastries to chose from. We opted for a few pastries and desserts. What they don't make in-house they get from a local baker. The carrot cake, chocolate cake, pistachio cake (my fav) and croissants were phenomenal along with the very LARGE cinnamon roll. Worth making a quick stop inside... they really are quick! Would have given 5 stars however, when we arrived for lunch we stood at the front waiting to be seated and after no one making eye contact or greeting us for an awkward 8 minutes. We were driving through town and were looking for brunch. Looked on Yelp and found this gem. Read some of the reviews after ordering food and think maybe they visited a different place. The staff was attentive. The service was exceptional for the amount of staff and people in the shop. The food was temperature appropriate and oh the taste. The mocha was one of the best I've had and that is putting it up against the big S. Not only did the food come out super late, it came out wrong! How can they get my order wrong and be late at the same time. This is ridiculous. We had our first waiter come out take our order then 5 min later a different waiter comes out and asked if we have been helped, like shouldn't she know they need some type of system knowing which tables you've waited on already. The most infuriating part of this experience was the fact that there was a party of 6 that walked in AFTER my friend and I (just a party of 2) AND their order was taken after ours. So in theory, our food should've come out before theirs since our order should've been in first. However, this was not the case. The party of 6's food come out way before ours. This was when we started the realize something was up so the first waiter (who didn't take our order) came over and checked on us again. She told us that the waiter who took our order probably didn't even put the order in and no one noticed until 20 min later where the first waiter had to take our order AGAIN to because "she must not have put it in." like this is absolute bs and very unsatisfied with my visit. Food was good though so was the coffee but service on the other hand is a different topic. There was poor communication between the servers. read more
