We looked at all the recent reviews and notice that the new management was highly rated. Everything proved to be on point regarding management response and availability to answer all questions. Manager number 8 arrived last Wednesday! The first 28 months the building opened there were 7 managers 6 assistant managers. number 8/7. This is Barr none the absolute worst building I have ever lived in, in my entire my life! All of the Managers attitudes have been Laissez-faire! An extremely horrendous way to run a 200 unit building. There are tenants who could absolutely care less about anyone but themselves! Right now it is going on 1am and the tenant above me came barreling in about 45 minutes ago. Music on, large dog running back and forth, back and forth. No consideration that neighbors are in bed asleep! Furniture being moved around like it was 1pm in the afternoon! And what will management do? NOTHING, ZERO,ZILCH! Someone wrote a review that this was a frat house a while back. It makes a frat house look like a fairytale. If you move into Boston East be prepared for the over head foot stomping, parties, all day and night cigarette & weed smoking. People going out for hours on end leaving their dog (s) in their apartment barking, crying and howling to the point of insanity all hours of the day and night! You name it anything goes! They call this a mid-rise luxury building. In less than three years it's been turned into a mid-rise ghetto! No neighborly respect, no consideration for others. And all allowed by every manager in the three years the building has been open! Now manager number 8 is poised to continue the tradition of his (7) predecessors! This building has 11pm-7am quiet hours as does the city of Boston. Well good luck with that ever being enforced it's a joke as Im listening to a stero playing! I'm told "it's apartment living." I've lived in many apartments and never have I seen the likes of the goings on in this building! I am doing everything within my power to move out of this absolutely maddening environment! Moving isn't easy for everyone. I am actively doing everything I can to get out ASAP! It's a nightmare and if you have the stomach for this kind of living environment go for it! The turn over in this building has been non-stop since the doors opened a little over 3 years ago! If I knew back when I moved in what I now know. I wouldn't have walked away. As a couple with different career needs, East Boston was a great compromise. We decided that the Boston East complex was a great comprise in terms of budget, location and amenities. We were wrong. The trash room legitimately overflows into the hallway because people are too lazy to put it down into the chute. The smell can be a bit much. The staff has made stride to improve the conditions of the trash room. If this were our only grievance I would have scored this a 4.5/5.0 as I am a pretty reasonable person. It took the staff over 100 days to fix our largest stove burners leaving us with only 1 medium size burner. This was annoying to deal with but renting is renting and sometimes you are willing to put up with the less ideal for the connivence. Again, with how kind the staff was I would still rate this place a 4.5./5.0. I can empathize with this. This was my breaking point. We pay $2,552 for 900 square feet with one window that opens 2 inches. Which is something we acknowledged when renting. However, we did expect our neighbors to let their dogs poop within 3 feet of our door and not pick it up. Now the smell is seeping into our apartment. Do not move here. It is not worth it. read more

Pros: (1) Erick Soto, the leasing agent, is awesome; (2) the building itself is new; (3) the views of the water and city are beautiful; (4) given the cost of Boston in general, the rent isn't terribly high; (5) the lounge on the top floor is very nice and is a good place to hang out with visitors. Cons: (1) aspects of the building seem to be poorly constructed (flooring in my apartment is lifting up; electrical outlets are installed crooked and one does not work); (2) maintenance can be slow (it look 100+ days and 5-10 maintenance/community manager interactions to fix my stovetop burner); (3) the management of the property itself is sub-par (there was a reoccurring false fire alarm issue that took months to resolve; (4) the building is unclean (owners regularly fail to clean-up pet waste -- see photo below, which depicts waste left in the hallway for an extended period of time; trash rooms are gross and there is often a lot of garbage loose on the floor). There are an increasing number of similar housing options in East Boston; it is unclear to me that the Boston East property would be preferable to the alternatives. read more

While the apartments itself are absolutely beautiful here, the management and technical aspects are the building are so poorly run that it is absolutely not worth it. Especially given the price. For example, management has still not made a mailbox key for everyone in the unit, 4 months into moving here. Likewise, has lost packages in a luxury apartments where there should be mail management and concierge. Finally, if those don't seem that bad, they have incorrectly wired fire alarms. They have gone off ~4-5 times between the hours of 1-4 AM and lasted ~30 minutes also in the course of 4 months. Like some other tenants have pointed out, not really any "kayaks" out for rent. And there are lots of syringes around the waterline. My roommate's boyfriend was threatened by a user who was shooting up while he was walking his dog. So if you like to pay ~1500-3000 per person for shitty service and college scenarios of fire alarms, I guess Boston east is the place for you. read more

We moved in a little over 6 months ago, with hopes that renting a unit in a luxury apartment building would be well worth the extra distance and money. I'm sad to say that Boston East has been a big disappointment so far. The fire alarm tends to randomly go off, and has happened about 7 times since we've moved in. This means waking up in the middle of the night in fight or flight mode, scrambling to leash your dogs and dress your kids, and waiting outside in the freezing cold until the fire department arrives and clears the building. Of all of the times this has happened, the building management has only acknowledged the problem ONCE, and described it as a malfunction in the garage vents. The problem has NOT been resolved or mentioned since, and the fire alarm sometimes goes off multiple times per night where the process of evacuating has to be repeated. The "kayak launch" is just a stretch of concrete on the shoreline that is littered with syringes (yes, SYRINGES) and trash. I've never seen a single person kayaking in that water, and probably for a good reason. Before we moved in, the leasing office told us that kayaks would be rented out for tenants to enjoy, but that has not happened. Not a big deal, but it's misleading that this is still being advertised. I will say that the building is very nicely maintained and they do a great job keeping the common areas clean. The outdoor amenities were appreciated during the summertime. Work orders are promptly fulfilled, however, we've had a difficult time reaching the leasing office or management after signing our lease. Emails often go unanswered, and we've resorted to submitting work orders to get the office to respond. Had I known of these issues beforehand, I would have strongly reconsidered moving to Boston East. read more

Updated since the fire alarm issue has been resolved. Overall I do enjoy living in Boston East. It's not perfect, but I have yet to live in a building that is. And now that I have several full nights sleep under my belt I am far less grumpy so I'll give a more detailed breakdown of he pros and cons. Pros: - Beautiful apartments - Common areas are wonderful and maintained well. (Minus the "kayak launch" which is described in other reviews.) The common room furniture is surprisingly high end rather than affordable chic. - The view of the city is hard to beat - Groceries, pharmacies, and the T are all in easy walking distance - Maintenance team is prompt and efficient. The maintenance team seems to genuinely care about residents. Best maintenance team I've had in any building so far. - The gallery is worth an additional mention, if you enjoy a relaxing place with art Middle ground: -There were usually monthly schedules of events that gave community members a way to meet. Often they were a bit on the early side for working people, but you could still go at the end. This seems to have stopped in December. Since this was a promise upon move in (along with a syringe free kayak launch) this may get moved to cons if not resolved. - The land next to the building was supposed to remodeled into a park by the end of September. So far the tall weeds have been cut down and a fence put up around strange wooden rectangles. - There are lots of people who don't pick up their dog poop. But I don't really fault the building for this since every building seems to have at least one person who should not have a pet. Cons: - The trash room on the fifth floor tends to fill up as there is not big enough recycling receptacles for the number of residents on each floor. Sometimes you can't even get to the trash chute on weekends because the room is piled so full. - Issues that aren't maintenance take a long time to get answers for, and some remain unresolved. - The kayak launch is a big let down read more

In the year we have lived at Boston East, the best part of our experience has been in our relationship with Maintenance worker, Frank. Frank continuously goes above and beyond in everything that he does to help us and other residents on a daily basis. Whenever we need him, he is there to efficiently respond to any work order or request we submitted. Frank's positive energy is contagious and his hardworking attitude is truly admirable. He is such an asset to us as residents, and to the Boston East team as a whole. read more

Been living at Boston East for over 8 months. I am the type of person that does not go by reviews but reading in here some of the bad ones that have been posted. I have to say that so far this place is at least one of the best luxury apartment communities that I have lived in so far. Despite of the fire alarm issue, that is nothing compare to the alarm system in other places. I guess I am down earth LOL if you have enough money to pay rent in a luxury place like Boston East then buy your own condo or apartment so you wont have to deal with issues like that. If you are a prospective tenant, in the process of searching for a future home in Boston, especially, if you own a pet, do not consider Boston East in your search. In the two months we have rented from this property, we have seen firsthand, the way this property was falsely marketed to us and misrepresented in our tours, as well as the horrific way residents, who express serious health and safety concerns, are treated by the property management company, Trinity Management, LLC. When we toured Boston East, we shared with the community management team, our commitment to finding a property that provided resident exclusive and large, outdoor space for young dog. Trinity Management, LLC employees, who represented Boston East, stated to us on multiple occasions throughout the multiple tours we took and subsequent rent discussions, that the Boston East property owned a fenced in plot of land directly behind the complex that they designated specifically for the use of dog owning residents. This amenity, in and of itself was the primary reason that we decided to rent from Boston East. Within only two months of living at this property, we experienced first-hand the lies we had been told, but more importantly, the negligence demonstrated by Trinity Management, LLC in their failure to act in a way that would have saved residents' pets from serious harm. On Thursday, April 30th, rat traps and poison were placed around the "on site dog park" that Boston East told residents was a designated space for them to walk and exercise their pets. Boston East and Trinity Management, LLC were made aware of the pest control measures being taken on the land on the day it occurred; Thursday, April 30th. I have confirmed this fact with Boston East employees via email. Despite being made aware of this situation on Thursday, April 30th, and being fully aware that residents were continuing to walk their pets on this land, Trinity Management, LLC continued to stand by as residents frequented the land with their beloved animals and furthered their exposure to the toxic and lethal chemicals that the rodenticides contain for days, before releasing a warning. Trinity Management, LLC did not release a warning to residents of the pest control measures until Saturday, May 2nd. While Trinity Management, LLC crafted a response of how to notify residents without revealing the fact that this land was falsely represented as an amenity for Boston East residents, residents' dogs continued to be exposed to contaminants that are known to cause internal bleeding, kidney failure, organ damage and often death. Despite several attempts at outreach to come to a reasonable resolution over this incident, Trinity Management, LLC and the upper management team, including their COO, have provided no solution to residents, other than an apology for the 'miscommunication over the ownership of the land'. We made the decision to pay an incredibly high rate for rent to live at Boston East because they promised us they had an on-site dog park. Despite the false marketing and misrepresentation of the property, Trinity Management, LLC has done nothing to help us as impacted residents who were manipulated by their lies in an attempt to fill units, and they have shown no concern about the fact that our dogs have been exposed. At this time, we now have no convenient place to walk our animals, other than parks that require a vehicle to get to in East Boston, which are nearby where a stabbing occurred one week ago. Do not live here! It is not worth the time and stress. The people who manage this property truly do not care about residents or the health and safety of pets. read more

I have been living at Boston East from the day it opened, and I absolutely love it!!! The building is in the perfect location for me since I need east access to the public transportation and easier access to Logan airport for travel! Amazing grounds, amazing lounges to hang out with guests. Sunsets here are spectacular also! The management and staff are very nice and do their absolute best to make sure that your living experience is the best that it could be. The maintenance crew are very very hard working to make sure that any issues are rectified in a timely manner. I would recommend living here a million times. read more
